I masked off the square and used a star stencil with transparent embossing paste. I then sponged in some Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue, added the sentiment from Lawn Fawn, and then a little wooden heart. Sounds easy enough - then WHY did it take me four hours to do it!!!!!
This is another entry in the sketch challenge that Leslie has going on at The Crooked Stamper. It's her first challenge and I wanted to show her my support. I do love a sketch challenge and am looking forward to the future ones from her too.
I'd also like to enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets). Not too many snippets on here except for the sentiment banner and some white strip snippets on the side to break up the blue border a little.
Thanks for stopping by.........and have a great weekend.
Lynn
Very cute card Lynn!
ReplyDeleteIt's always the "easy" cards that take hours ... :) I have the same problem :)

Hi Lynn love the gorgeous simplicity fabulous love it hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Lynn and I love that bold, vibrant blue colour.
ReplyDeleteOh yes... the four hour cards, I know all about those buggers!
hahahahah... sometimes the 'simplest' ones take the longest.
This is gorgeous though and well worth every minute!
Oh Lynn this is just gorgeous! Lovely and perfectly CAS 💕
ReplyDeleteI envy your talent at CAS cards Lynn, I find them so difficult! Another fabulous card!

I do love this sketch and have used it to make a few cards this week. Isn't it funny how the easiest looking cards so often take the longest to produce. This card was worth the time. It is a super nice card and gets your thoughts across nicely. Enjoy the weekend. We are awaiting another storm tomorrow night. Just more crafting time if even by candlelight. LOL Seriously, we don't expect to lose our power because they say the snow will be soft and fluffy so not a threat to the power lines. Let's hope they are right.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! CAS is not always S!!! I love the masking + embossing paste + ink - a great all-year-round Love You card!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing my first challenge, and for the shout-out!

Beautiful CAS card. I have that problem too, the simplest looking cards often taking the longest to make. x

Pretty card Lynn, love how the clear embossing paste looks with the blue!

Oh Lynn, I am loving this card!! The non traditional colors are working for me too!! lol Heck you had to wait for the embossing paste to dry didn't you?!! lol I don't know what takes me to so long to make a card or project either, but it does. There is nothing fast about me, that much I can tell ya. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSuch an awesome non-traditional card! I love the masking!
ReplyDeleteThat's a real pretty use for the stencil, and I love the blue with all those pretty stars! Great card Lynn!!
ReplyDeleteWorks for me Lynn! I love your CAS card. xx
ReplyDeleteEven though it took 4 hours it looks fantastic and well worth it i reckon, love the blue.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend xx
I love your non-traditional valentine with that awesome blue sponging and star stencil. Well, it was worth your four hours. :-) I can do that, too. HAHAHA
ReplyDeleteI love your CAS card! That sentiment is one of my favorites, although I always seem to forget to use it when making a card.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue, Lynn. It's brilliant! (no pun) Maybe you could claim 3 1/2 hours of drying time for the embossing paste and ink? :-D
ReplyDeleteI like the non-traditional colors on your Valentine card! Pretty design! Very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLoving your non-tradional colors for your Valentines. As always, they are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI think you have great ideas for non-traditional Valentines! Love this idea and think it would be great for a birthday card too!
ReplyDeleteIt took so long because it is non-traditional. For some reason they are always tougher. If that were me it would have taken days not hours. Besides, I think it is gorgeous. Very clean and it says it simply. - Jim
ReplyDeleteI love this! Great design too,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Lynn! I love the embossed stars and that cute little wooden heart!
ReplyDeleteTammy x
What perfect masking! I absolutely LOVE this, Lynn - I neeeeeed some transparent paste now. Crap, these things are addictive! lol
ReplyDeleteBrilliant CAS, and I love it in Blue. I'm tired of all the reds (and I love reds!). Great card. TFS
ReplyDeleteOOOOHHHH! I really like this one too! I love the nontraditional colors-makes them more versatile!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Valentine's card! Love that you captured the feel of Valentines with non-traditional colors and papers. Wonderfully done. Hugz
