Time for Thanksgiving

I know it's not time for Thanksgiving just yet, but thought I'd at least start making a few cards for this - I'll also be posting some Halloween cards soon as I have so many of those to make (all the grandchildren - plus).

The layout for this is from Cas-Tastic Wednesday Challenge. It's a wonderful sketch that you can do so much with. Check out their site and see the super cards the DT created.

The pheasant is from Autumn Days and the sentiment from Tiny Tags (both SU). On my first attempt at this I had just sponged the background behind the pheasant. After looking at it for a day, it just seemed so BLAH! So I carefully removed it and stamped another pheasant, cut out, and then on the background used some chalk and then off-stamped the wheat. I liked it this way so much better and it gave it a little more OOMPH! The fantastic ribbon is from WalMart! I found this last year and went back to get some more and they don't have it now. Every time I go into a WalMart I look for it though since it's so pretty.

Thanks for stopping by..............

Lynn

  1. I have yet to stamp the pheasant, but I use the wheat and the other images, maybe it is time to give it a try, thanks for the inspiration.

  7. How creative of you to find a solution for what I'm sure looked nice but now looks like a great background to your bird. This is a wonderful TDay card and fab ribbon.

I live near one of the Offray Ribbon Factory Outlets and I seem to remember seeing this ribbon last time I was there. If you send me a sample of your ribbon, I'll check for it next time I go to the big city. Email me: peebsmama(at)comcast(dot)net to work out details.

  11. Lynn, you are right - the ribbon IS fabulous. I love your treatment at the back of the pheasant, too. Isnt it amazing how standing back from something and leaving it for a little while can make all the difference.
