Every two weeks, the blog group Stamps R Us has a challenge. This time the theme is Sparkles and Scallops. Be sure and go check it out. You have another week to submit your post. Also note that there is a PRIZE involved here . If you like Stamping Boutique images (or if you've never tried them and want to) be sure and submit an entry in this challenge.There is alot going on with this card - in fact, maybe a little too much. I used two different embossing folders (Snow Flakes and Swiss Dots). The scalloped border and the snowflakes were made with a MS punch. I added glitter not only to the snow flakes, but also to the little scarves and hats on the snowmen. Actually, since that one little "guy" has a pink outfit on, I guess you can say two snow men and one snow woman! I printed out the image twice and popped up the second one - then again popped up the entire panel the snowmen are on.
This is for Paper Sundaes challenge - to use at least two of the following: Punches, Ribbon, Embossing and the color blue. As it turns out I used all four. I've also submitted it for the challenge over at Paper Play - let it snow.

This is gorgeous, Lynn! All of the embossing look wonderful with your cute, little snowman (and snowgal) scene. I love how you popped the up and gave them such bright and fun outfits, too. :) Love it!

Wow, Lynn, this is straight out of a picture book... just so heavenly... I can feel the snowmen and snowwoman singing carols. Beautiful image! And your embossing looks great. Light blue is just so lovely. Right out of a book as I said.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind wishes for Zeenya. This is the first time she decided not to have a celebration with lots of friends. And it suited me just fine - sometimes these birthday parties cause more stress than pleasure. I just took her out and spoiled her. And then got a cake as a surprise for her. Gosh! She is turning into an adult... she used to love parties and we used to beg her to keep the numbers small. Seems like we have won!!! But you know what, even though it was so peaceful, I missed the excitement of a party. And she did not even allow me to bring in cupcakes to school - says she is a FIFTH grader now. And fifth graders are not into such baby things...

ReplyDeleteWow, you did such a fantastic job on this! I so love it! You definitely do not have too much going on, just perfect. I mean the layers and the embossing, the border punch, ok everything :) So good idea to get little Rambo and squirrel, at least he can feel like he caught one. Is that a good thing. ReplyDeleteI don't think there is too much going on at all. I think the whole scene is very interesting. My eye went from the image to the elements and back. I think because you used so much white and a soft blue, the background embossing and punches are a complement rather than a distraction.
