Fur and Feather

Today starts another challenge over at Shopping Our Stash and our theme is Furry or Feathered Friends (NO creepy crawly spiders or insects though, please).  Check out the blog for all the details and also to see wonderful creations by the DT.  When you enter be SURE and use up some of that stash. 


I was slinking through the Thrift Shop the other day to see what kind of treasures I could find and in a cardboard box with all kinds of stuff in it sat this PSX stamp of a dog  for 25 cents!  What a "find" this was!  Love the little dog.  It looks like a lab but guess it could be just about any kind (almost) of dog you wanted it to be.....not a dachshund though! LOL!  The dog print ribbon is some I haven't used in close to forever - along with that snippet of DP.  The bone brad was given to me so long ago and am finally using that too.  The dark brown background was embossed using a SU Texturz plate - that gives a very subtle imprint.

    Wow! This looks just like my DD's lab. And I love the bone and paw print. Could I get you to stamp a couple of those dogs on scraps and send them to me?

    i love the phrase, "slinking through the thrift shop" i think that sums up the attitude of the hardened and habitual thrifter PERFECTLY-- we are both abashed and unrepentant at the same time!!! :) i also love that you found this FAB stamp for .25cents and used it brilliant in this adorable card--thus totally validating ANY amount of slinkage!!! ♥♥♥

    That is quite a score at the thrift shop, very cute stamp. Great card, too. Love the ribbon/bow and the sweet little milkbone accent.

    What a find, huh? Not quite an Antiques Roadhouse treasure but still a treasure. I love it when I find good deals like that. Fab layout and that ribbon & brad are perfect.

    Aw, I'm envious of your find. Never find those wonderful items in my thrift shops or yard sales! This is a wonderful stamp. It does look like my black lab, and I so like the way you've combined that super ribbon and the bone die with the image. So lovely!

    LuckEE you, to find a PSX for 25cents. A REAL find, and this doggy is so cute. Love your layout, and I have some of these brads (Spare Parts? H/L?) I have a DD who loves dogs, so I look for doggy things. She'd love this card, as do I. Great combo of all the elements. TFS
