Bob

First of all, let me tell you a little about my card - and then we'll get to Bob!

My brother in law has a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks so this will go to him.  I'm trying to think of something cute, funny, sarcastic, dumb to go on the inside.  Any thoughts out there?????

The stamp is from Art Impression that I colored with Copics and then popped up on a snippet of white that was sprayed with black Glimmer Mist. (Got a little heavy handed on the mist, but oh well.....)  I used some Liquid Applique around his neck and the sentiment is from CTMH - also sprayed with Glimmer Mist.  A couple of snippets of twine were added to the sentiment panel.  One thing about it - it's got a lot of shimmer and shine with that mist!


Now, on to Bob...............When you live out in the boonies like this you see all sorts of wildlife.  We have a lot of buzzards that are continually flying over.  Rambo loves to "chase" them but doubt if he'd know how to act if one actually came close to him.  A couple of days ago I was looking out the kitchen window where the bird feeders and bird baths are...... and.........there was Bob the Buzzard!  Bob has decided to sit on our roof every day -  causing all kinds of racket.  He'll swoop down ever so often and get a drink from the bird bath.  Jim keeps saying we may be old, but we're not dead yet and I have to agree with him.  I'm hoping Bob finds a new roosting spot soon!

    This is one AI stamp I have yet to acquire. It's a great one for the ageing friends and relations. The coloring is fantastic!

    Oh, this is too funny, Lynn! Love that ole buzzard and all the detail you added to this! The shimmer glamors him up a bit in his old age! :)

    Enjoyed this post so much! I have seen this stamp, and wondered how it would look on a card. You really did it up proud. Loved your neck feathers treatment as well. I thought your glitzy spray looked great, but then I have a heavy hand too, so what do I know? This is such a cute card, and your BIL is sure to get a kick out of it.     Oh yes, Melissa nailed it with her idea of putting "for the birds" inside! Too funny, and perfect for this fun card! That buzzard looks worse than the turkey buzzards who are always on a barn roof 5 houses up from our house!! When those giant wings open up, it's extremely intimidating!!

    What a fun card for your BIL, Lynn! Of course, I'd have to say something like "this old buzzard reminds us that 'life is to short'!" That's too many words, though. Maybe just "LITS!"

    The real buzzard? Too funny what Jim said! I can't even bear to have the crows come to our bird baths b/c it scares all the other finches and little birds. I can't even imagine how freaked my freak would be if I had a buzzard swoop in and hang out. It gives me the vapors just thinking about it!!

    Yep, the buzzard would have me freaking out too! I love that you've named him, though. lol! And that stamp is a fabulous - hey old guy - stamp. You can't have enough of those! (My husband is 9 years older. I'm never going to get tired of tweaking him over it)

    What a perfect card for an old guy with a sense of humor! Hope Bob moves on soon! That would be a little scary to have a buzzard hanging around. Sure wouldn't want to take a fall in the back yard!

    Hope you decieded on a good sentiment for the card - we only see buzzards like that in zoo's must be amazing to have one stop by in your garden!! Love Jim's quip about being old but not dead yet a bit disconcerting to have Bob hanging around!!! best wishes Lesley x

    Love the card and the Bob story. We have a hawk that's been hanging out on our cattle barn. I think he's waiting for a chicken to escape from the (enclosed) chicken pen. lol

    How creepy, having buzzards hanging out in the yard! How about Too Old for even Buzzard Bait! Yeah.. this is just a little too weird. I remember those all cowboy movies with the buzzards circling... didn't like it then and funny how that sticks with you.
