Flowers and Sam

A quick way to say thanks........ I used some Frantage behind the flower but couldn't get it in the corners without burning the whammy out of my fingers, so it is what it is.  Also, that's not a black speck on there - it's just some of the gold Frantage..........

Now, on to Sam............ A month or so I showed you Bob the buzzard that had taken up residence at our house.  Bob has moved on to bluer skies thank goodness........but now we have Sam the snake!  We call them Blue Indigo snakes around here and they don't seem to be poisonous but scare the living day-lights out of me anyway.  He's been hanging around for several weeks now catching mice and whatever else he does AND giving Rambo fits!!!  The first time, Rambo cornered him in the back yard and grabbed his tail and was slinging him all over the yard.  I finally grabbed Rambo and Jim grabbed the snake and took him to the front yard.  Rambo has cornered him a couple of times since then, but Sam usually just slithers away.  Yesterday, he was outside the fence so I snapped a couple of pics of him.  I zoomed in without getting too close though since he just creeps me out totally............He's only about 4 foot long and is probably a juvenile as they get huge.  Just hope his mom or dad doesn't how up.

Thanks for stopping by...................
Lynn

  3. Oooooh, you are SO BRAVE... this Sam is beautiful but he scares the daylight out of me.
But you know what, as a child we lived in these Army cantonments which were very green, almost like living in a jungle and we used to see more snakes than people sometimes. And often these creepy creatures would slither right inside our homes - eeeeeks. I remember once I opened a built in wooden cupboard and saw a green snake inside at the bottom.

Now let me come to a more pleasant topic - your card... There is much harmony there and I love the blues. And I love the blue of Sam, the indigo too but only the colour and nothing else.
The flower on your card is so sweet. And I like this new stuff you have used on your card.

    Love,

    M

  5. Beautiful card Lynn, I like the colours and the design, It nice to see your picture of the snake, but I wouldn't really want one in my garden. I hope he clears off soon, lets hope Rambo will scare him off

  6. OK, so I'm never.ever.coming to visit you. Sorry. You're just going to have to come up here. When a 4ft snake is a baby...shudder.

I love the Frantage paired with the super-clean lines of everything else - it's like a pop of shabby!

  7. Loved this pretty blue & white. That texture on your blue rectangle is so perfect with your flower. Great job on your frontage too. Got a glimpse of your other picture, so I scrolled very carefully by so I wouldn't have to see it up close & personal, yet still get to the comment! You will know exactly what I mean! Hate those things-- phobic about 'em. But I love the card!!! You keep the critter out in Texas. Hugs (& a partial TFS!)

  8. I've gotta say that I like the card much better than Sam! Although Sam is a beautiful color, he still isn't something I'd want to get too close to. Back to the beautiful card! I love that flower!

  9. I do not like snakes... not at all. We have garter snakes here... harmless and good for catching mice, etc but I just don't like them. Sam looks like a friendly enough fellow? (I'm trying to find something nice to say... but I can see that glint in his eye!
Enough about the snake and onto your card, which is very delicate and pretty and I like the different textures on here. And I love the Frantage. I honestly don't think anyone can ever do a bad job with that stuff!

  10. Stunning card and love how you have used the Frantage behind the flower.

You are very brave with that snake! I would be having a fit him even being in the back/front yard. Great photograph.

  11. Lynn, this is a very pretty card. Really like the embossing, the color palette, and your flower. I was still smiling about it when I scrolled down and saw that awful snake. Yikes! Talk about a stark contrast -- beauty and the beast.

  16. Lynn, with your love of all things blue, one would think you'd be crazy about Sam! lol I admit snakes don't bother me at all but spiders -- that's another story altogether. Love your card, especially that flower! Did you punch those petals from paper or CS? I love the white and blue pattern in it, whatever it is. Beautiful !

  17. I like how you chose blue for your card today. Where you trying to keep things in the blue family because of Sam's color? Your card is top notch. I love it. I like that you have one rounded corner on your focal piece, nice touch.
If I saw Sam, you would not see me for weeks outside. I had a very small 8 inch snake in one of my gardens and I did not go near that garden again for days. I'm such a chicken. Enjoy your upcoming weekend.

  18. Oh be still my heart, I stepped on a snake barefoot last year and still haven't recovered my heart attack! That's what I get looking up at lemons instead of down on the floor - scared him more than me, I think ... but still! Yuck!

LOVE LOVE your card! It's gorgeous in blue!

  20. Love your super cute card. I haven't had the chance to try out my Frantage yet. Can't wait.

I so hate snakes, so you're more than welcome to hang on to Sam. He would not last long with my outside kitties around.

  21. Awesome card Lynn! Love the texture and colors!! Snakes really creep me out to but I am really impressed with the photo you took! At least Sam will help keep the mice populations down!

  23. Oh Lynn, Before we talk about that snake your card makes up for scary Sam!! I love the flower. Blue and white is so cheerful to me. I have been creating a lot of it lately. Wish I had time to post.

Now about Sam! Yikes I'm sure I would be screaming at the top of my lungs if I saw my dogs fighting with one of those things. Great photo btw.

  24. Yikes, you've got "beauty and the beast" going on here, Lynn! Your card is outstanding! So lovely in every way!!

And then came Sam. I'm pretty horrified of snakes, too, but I have to say, your photo is so good, it makes him or her look really pretty. Never thought I would ever think or type those words!! My sister in Missouri is having snakes this year and her little fat (REALLY fat) dachshund killed one of them, a big one!! Those little dogs are known for that I guess, but I just can't imagine it. What brave little hearts they have!
