Scrappy

Halloween is right around the corner almost so figured I'd better get busy with some scary (not) cards.  I've said it all along and will say it again.......I don't like Halloween!  (I LOVE candy corn though!!!!!)   However, I always end up making cards for this since I know the grandkids love it with all the dressing up and candy, etc.  Guess I'm just being a plain old Scrooge type person.

Since I'm not a fan of Halloween....what did I do except go buy a stamp set from Paper Smooches with all Halloween images!   Makes sense, right!  I used a new embossing folder from SU and a couple of scraps of DP.  I didn't feel like attempting to color Mr. Dracula's cape, so just used another scrap and paper pieced that.  The little bat was stamped on yet another small scrap and then cut out.  I wrapped a piece of red twine (another scrap!) to match his fangs and eyes around the DP.   See, I told you this was "Scrappy"!    This will be for one of the young boys since it doesn't have any of the fun orange or bling on it!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

  3. I'm with you. Halloween is not really my thing. Fall-yes - Halloween - no. With all that said, you did a very good job with this one. Like the paper piecing. Enjoy your day.

  4. Scrappy but so cute... as cute as your story, lol.
The pp looks fab and what a nice idea to paper piece the dress instead of colouring it. Maybe that is what I should aim for. Lol.

  16. Oh I DO LIKE this! Loved the way you did the ?washi tape? trim. (maybe it was paper bits..still great looking). Nice job of paper piecing too...I'm fumble fingered with that technique. Loved the SU EF too. For somebody who doesn't 'do' Halloween, you did a fab card. At our house, it's DH in the Halloween mode, I like Fall & Christmas. Great job on this one. TFS

  20. I've learned to do Halloween cards because of all the grandkids but I still do only cute ones. Love this one and all your wonderful cutting for the paper piecing. That bat is fantastic! Terrific cutting on him, as small as he is. Love the polka dots!

  21. I didn't do much for Halloween either until I got a group of stampers that love the Halloween class. And the grandkids get into it in a big way. I don't have much to work with though. The Count is very scary with his red fangs! Great idea on the cloak!
