A Couple of Turkeys

Yesterday you'll remember seeing a "couple of bucks".....today you get a couple of turkeys!  It's time for another challenge from Digi Haven and our sponsor is Floppy Latte - who provided the sentiments for my cards today.  The theme this go round is Fall.  Be sure and check out Digi Haven and play along for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from Floppy Latte.

Both of my cards are exactly the same - except for one little difference................

Yep, the second one isn't just some ordinary turkey - he's turkey in the straw!!!  The turkey image is from Bugaboo (colored in Copics) and like I said, the sentiment is from Floppy Latte.  Super clean and simple cards that will get mailed the week before Thanksgiving.

A little story about the straw!  I think I've used small pieces of hay on my Thanksgiving or Fall cards for several years - mainly because a guy used to store his bales of hay out here and I'd just go grab a handful.  This year he didn't store it here so I had no hay and was pretty sad about the whole thing.......however,  the grocery store provided!!  They have very small bales of hay for the pumpkins and that type of things to sit on.  You guessed it.....several little sprigs just ended up in my purse somehow -  they were actually on the floor in front of the bales and I just figured it was my duty to help keep the store litter free!!

I'll enter this in the challenge at DRS Designs (who's a turkey).

Thanks for stopping by.......and be sure and enter the Digi Haven Fall Challenge this week.

  2. You're so thoughtful to keep the local store floor clean! LOL Those little bits of straw are the perfect touch to the 2nd card, even though the one without straw is every bit as cute! I cannot believe it's almost Thanksgiving and Christmas is right around the corner, when we just said good-bye to summer! Time flies! Have a great weekend!

  5. Oh my goodness, Lynn, this is just the cutest TURKEY card and that added hay is so fun.
You know, I have some hay/straw that looks like that and I bought it in a little bundle to use at Christmas around the manger scene. But, I suppose your store will always have some all over the floor...just for your convenience. LOL You're too funny.

  6. I can always count on a chuckle from you-thank you for that. These two cards are very nice however I'd have to pick the one with the hay as my favorite because of how hard you had to work to keep that store floor clean to get it. LOL I hope that store paid you well for all your "work". I love the way you backed your sentiment pieces- nice, different idea. Enjoy your weekend and don't work too hard.

  16. Oh Ho, I did like your cleanup the litter story! What a great recycle effort & I hope you will post this to Pixie's Snippets! Very unusual snippet I say. These are both so doggone cute, and loved the digi sentiment (along with your copic coloring too, BTW). Turkey in the Straw always makes my feet dance. TFS & Hugs.

  17. I'm so glad you did your part to remove the litter from in front of that bale of hay! Very civic minded I think! Love both cards! That's a really cute turkey!

  21. You are a riot, Lynn, and so are these great cards!! I can just see the guys in the surveillance booth: "Oh, geez, Lloyd, would you look at that one! She is literally picking up those scattered bits of hay one by one and putting them in her purse!! Har! Har! Ya think she might be making straw soup?!" It's very thoughtful that you gave them some amusement in their boring jobs!! Hugs, Darnell
