It's Bookmark Time

I don't know about y'all but the weather down here in Texas has been like a yo-yo......you're freezing your buns off one day and in shorts the next day!  Pretty typical for this time of year, but very confusing to say the least.

If you're freezing and can't really get outside to do much, the next best thing is to sit down and read a good book!  So, with that in mind.......Our new challenge at Digi Haven is to make a bookmark!  We're being sponsored by Melonheadz who also provided the images for all the bookmarks you'll see when you stop by our blog.  Enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package from Melonheadz!

I always think that a bookmark should be simple, flat and to the point - don't want to crimp up any of the pages or something like that.  I've used the Christmas bookmark image and colored it with Copics, added a little shine with the Wink pen and some glossy accents, patterned paper placed on the sides, and the net at the top.  This would make a cute stocking stuffer for one of the grands and very simple to do.

Be sure and check out the Bookmark challenge at Digi Haven!

I haven't had a Fun Friday in a long time now.......and I know that today is Friday  -  BUT, I do have a fun card coming tomorrow so stop back by then!

Thanks for stopping by........
Lynn

  6. HI Lynn. This is one fun book mark. Candy cane background and a pile of presents any big kid would love is fun in anyone's book (Mark).
Still working on the problem of follower's showing my new blog posts. Bugger/Blogger has all sorts of advice but no solutions. Trying new things next post.

  7. Great idea! Any reader would find a bookmark very useful...grands included. :-) The tulle at the top is a pretty finish.

Yes, the weather is up and down. It was 76 here yesterday and 60 degrees today. I prefer yesterday.

  12. Definitely! You don't want to mess up your book - or squish the work of art holding your place.
The weather - January & February are the longest months. We've had 70 cm of snow since Sunday, and today I read that statistically we receive 37% of our yearly snowfall AFTER this date. I could cry!

  17. This is a really cute booksmark. We haven't had "Shorts" weather in our area for a long time...and with all this cold and snow...I feel right now like it's never going to happen...LOL

  18. A cute & colorful digi, done with your usual flair & attention to detail. Love the Wink sparkle, and your peppermint bkground paper really brought this cute little elf to life so super well. Great bookmark. Did I mention, I like to read? (well, I'm using a kindle more so hard to use bookmarks with that..!) Keep your buns warm now heah? TFS & Hugs

  19. Your bookmark is adorable Lynn! I don't like "thick" bookmarks either, want them flat as I don't like my pages or book messed up in anyway. lol I read on a Kindle, but still read "real" books too. I use to hate to lend out my books and they come back all messed up. lol Yes, it had been very cold here in PA, now we are having some nice warmish weather but going back to the cold next week. So I can see curling up with a good book!! Hugs!
