Ride Like the Wind

Thought I'd squeeze this card in the middle of what's going to be a very busy week - card wise - for me.

In hindsight I see all kinds of things I wish I'd done different with this card - but what's done is done and it is what it is.  I recently purchased some small feather dies and had to play around with them a little so smushed out some distress inks on my craft mat, misted them down a little with water, and then ran the feathers through it.  I originally had three small feathers on here and it just looked funny - then had two small ones and that looked a little weird too......so ended up with one big and two little.  I didn't want them to take away from the image  too much and to just add some color.   The big metal brad is from SU I believe and it reminded me of a battle shield like the Indians used to carry at times.  Did you know that they were mostly made from buffalo neck!!!  This one, however, is nothing but metal since I didn't have a buffalo handy so Jim could whip up one for me!!  LOL!   The image - from Mark's Finest Papers - is called Bold and Free.  This was stamped in Momento and then I did some doodling around the sides (and may have gotten a little carried away with that)!

I'll enter this at Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge (Metal) and at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Thanks for stopping by.............
Lynn

  1. I'm sure you have a lot of wild life down there in Texas but I'm sure glad you could find a Buffalo to have Jim work on for you. LOL I love those feathers and the colors are just gorgeous. Great image and your doodling is just the right amount and very well done in my book. Wishing you a fantastic week.

  23. Didn't know you could doodle too! I can't, so I appreciate your skill. Next you'll be telling me you zentangle (I buy magazines..does that count?). Love your feathers & the beautiful color you got on them. Perfect as you have them arranged to compliment your very unique running Indian stamps. Really like this. That 'shield' is wonderful...it certainly does invoke the imagery to complement the rest of your card elements. You've done it again, Kid. Love this! TFS & Hugs
