A Couple of G's

G's as in Gelatos, that is.  Now y'all know me and know that I don't ever do strange things in my card making much, but I've really been breaking out of the shell (just a tiny bit) and trying some different products.  The latest being Gelatos.  I was scouting out Michael's the other day and they had this little pack of Gelatos on sale.  They looked so lonesome all my themselves just waiting for someone to take them off the shelf......so......I decided to adopt them (that sounds so much better than buying them doesn't it)!  After a couple of weeks of them staring me in the face I finally decided to check out some videos and see what in the world I could do with them.

This first one was pretty much a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest.  Still not sure about the die cut greenery on here but it is what it is.

I used a die on this one too and after messing all those colors together I added some white dots with the eraser end of a pencil using white pigment ink.

It was fun trying something new but doubt if you'll be seeing me use these on all my cards now.  Just something different.

Thanks for stopping by........and have a great weekend!

Lynn

  2. Well now that you've adopted maybe I should follow in your footsteps and adopt something sitting on a shelf also. I've never worked with Gelato but you sure did a fine job with them. Great idea for the eraser white dots on your second card. I really like the color combos on both cards. Super nice job with this technique, Lynn. Enjoy the upcoming weekend.

  3. Lynn! These are great! I bought an entire pack of gelatos and I'm having a hard time using them well.

I know I have to invest a bit more time into learning their capabilities - but WOW - you knocked it out of the park first time through!!!

  5. Wow! Lynn, these are beautiful cards. Good work with the Gelatos. The mix of colors is great....right down my alley. I love the dots, too.

I think I'll start thinking of purchasing items as adopting, too. That doesn't sound nearly as expensive. HAHA

  15. I understand about these things just jumping into your basket. Actually, you really don't have any control over this, and you wouldn't want to make a scene in the store, now would you? So of course you had to adopt them & bring them home! Love #1- you did a great job with the gelatos.. and yes, the leaf is just right with it. #2 is going to have to be my favorite though. The background is stunning & the white die flowers are really striking against the colors. Loved the white dots too! WTG! TFS & Hugs

  16. Wow, Lynn, I love both of these. They are elegant and will be treasured by whoever receives them, maybe even framed. I like the splatter and design on the first one and the second one is out of sight lovely! I really like how you did the white pigment ink. Duh me thought it was stenciled at first!!

  18. Stunning, Lynn! I love the white flower against that marvelous background. Incredible color combos on both cards. I have to adopt the term "adopting" -- so much better than spending money on supplies and such a kind and generous thing to do. :-D
