Home Sweet Tepee

Our challenge at Tuesday Throwdown starts today with the theme of Embossing!  We're being sponsored by Avery Elle!  Great sponsor and great challenge AND we'd love for you to come over and play along this week for a chance to win a wonderful prize from the sponsor!

For my card I used the Avery Elle set called Home Sweet Home.  It's a great set with some really cute images.  I tried something different on this card and the jury is still out on whether I like what I tried.  I used some Pan Pastels on the sky and the hillside.  I think the sky was fine - but my grassy hillside looks more like dead grass that would like to be green - maybe kind of like it usually is in Texas!  I embossed the clouds with the Swiss Dots folder and also added a couple of pine trees to the hills.  The hearts on the teepee and beside the sentiment finished it off.  Of course I forgot all about "grounding" the tepee so maybe I should have titled this The Floating Tepee instead!

Be sure and check out Tuesday Throwdown this week and enter for your chance to win!  See all the wonderful inspiration from the DT too!

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

  1. The grass looks like wintry grass in some places where it goes kind of that colour. It looks just fine, Lynn and the tent looks grounded too. I like the pop up clouds and the big heart on the tent. The sentiment is perfect.

    Love,

  5. I've never heard of Pan Pastels, but you did a terrific job with them, I think. As for the teepee, just imagine it in in the tall grass and you'll be fine. I think the whole card is just darling. Have a fun day.

  7. This looks amazing and this is exactly what I tell people when they ask me where home is. We've moved so much in the past that I'd always say it's where we are now.

  8. This s a super cute card Lynn! I am loving your pan pastels, not sure how to use them but think you got a nice effect with them. They look so smooth! That tepee is fabulous and it doesn't look like it is floating to me, but grounded on the grass instead. Maybe all you need is a little shadow for the tepee? Love the sentiment! Hugs, Brenda

  30. It's adorable, and your gray-green grass looks just right with the colorful teepee. Remember the Indians lived in some desert areas too! I am so loving these stitched hills (on my wish list!). And the fir trees added your touch of green. Really cute card, well done. TFS & Hugs
