I Wish!

Yes, I wish I was sitting on a nice beach somewhere - and maybe even sipping on a good Margarita too!  Afraid that's not going to happen for a while though.  Besides that, it's much too hot to even think about a beach around here.  I'm ready for cooler temps now!!

This is another card I'd done a couple of weeks ago using the Beach Party set from Newton's Nook.  The palm is from Stampendous and the little crab from Lawn Fawn.  I sponged the sky in, die cut some clouds, used some patterned paper from Paper Studio for the 'sand', and added a die cut sun from some polka dot paper with a sequin in the center.  I slit the 'sand' paper and stuck the surf board in the sand......I'm pretty sure that's the way all the big boy surfers do it.

Since I used a ton of snippets on here, I'll also enter it in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  There's a sweet bunch of ladies over there so check it out.

    So glad to see a card form you, Lynn. I've never surfed but I agree with you that the Big Surfer's do stick their boards in the sand. That was a great idea to make your card that way. Darling crab with those eyes. Have a wonderful Monday.

    This is gorgeous, Lynn! I love scene cards! That little crab with is google eyes is super cute! I like how you have added the surfboard into the sand! Hope things are going okay with Jim. I know you guys have a long road ahead of you, but I hope each day shows some improvement, even if small.

    Love this fun, beachy masculine design! That crab with his silly eyes is adorable! I agree with you about wishing for cooler temperature. Here in Wisconsin is so HOT! Can barely breathe with the humidity and its 90's degrees temperature. Hope you're still cool inside. Have a great week! :)

    Such a neat scene Lynn..love the golden sand with the little crab running around and the fluffy clouds. Your Surfer Teddy is so cute,fab colouring and you are welcome to my cool temps if you like..frosty start today minus 1 degree..eek..

    You've created the perfect summer beach scene here, and I love how cleverly you stuck the surfboard into the sand! I'm ready for some cooler weather now too as we're baking here in the east, but my heart goes out to those living on the west coast dealing with drought and fires. I'm going to enjoy your card and think of cool sea breezes in the meantime :)

    Lynn, This is wonderful! Love the "sand" and, being a California gal, I can vouch for the fact that lots of surfboards get stuck into the sand just like that. :-D Great dimension and I love that your tree goes of the page. Terrific design, my friend.
    We were 109 here yesterday and I'm with you on wanting cooler weather as soon as possible. :-D
