It's All About Christmas

I just saw on Facebook yesterday that there were 31 more weeks until Christmas!  Pretty scary thought isn't it!  It's going to be here before you know it so it's time to kick it up on making Christmas cards.

This one was very simple using a few dies and some patterned paper.   Not a bit of stamping at all!  It was actually done for some challenge the other day and then I never got it entered.    It's also a terrible picture of the card.  I probably snapped 25 photos of it and they were all wonky somehow.  Oh well.....

It really IS all about Christmas when you look out on my porch too.  I bought this poinsettia in November and yes, it's still blooming and going strong.  With the 100plus degree temps we're having right now though I know it's not going to last too much longer.  It's still looking pretty healthy - right?

I'd like to enter my card in the Rudolph's Day Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by............
Lynn

  1. What a dramatic card Lynn - love that deer and how you have silhouetted it against the kraft and white.
Your poinsettia is certainly growing against the odds in that heat :-)

  3. This is a great Christmas card. I love that plaid paper and also the green plaid you used the other day. Both are so pretty. I think the snow is a great idea for him to be running through. I could have gone 26 more weeks without hearing how much time is left!! I can only do one holiday at a time so I am always behind. Your poinsettia looks beautiful but the heat can sure kill it at those temps. We've had a few 90+ days here and it is hot. Stay in and make cards - that's my motto.

  10. Seriously, Lynn, I've never even seen a living vibrant poinsettia except at Christmas! I'm really WOWED and hope it keeps on keeping on! I also love your Christmas card design! Is that old plaid pp or something you've recently gotten? I love how deep the colors are! And did you splatter your kraft with white acrylic paint? Hugs, Darnell

  11. Poinsettias? Wow, that is awesome that you can keep them. As Carol said, congrats on your TMS win. That is one that I try not to miss. I recently purchased some brushed gold card stock, and I love the way it pairs with this plaid. Very nice card!

  12. I love the card, Lynn, but it reminds me that I've done nothing about Christmas cards this entire year. Guilt trip!! :-D Your poinsettia is marvelous. As a school teacher, my mom got poinsettia plants from students every year and she had fantastic luck planting them in the ground and just letting them grow. Some got well over 6 feet tall. We had summers with temperatures regularly over 100 degrees but they just kept going and growing. :-D

  14. Such a nice and deep contrast of colours here. Super card as ever. Sorry that it gave you such a hard time with pics. This pic is perfect, though. And those poinsettias are beauties. I LOVE them.

  16. Love the leaping reindeer and the plaid paper, Lynn! Great for a masculine card.

Your poinsettia is gorgeous. I have a tiny one on my desk that is sending up new green leaves. Looks right now like I'b better give it a drink! Can you plant them outside where you live? I have done it and they get huge, but the cold gets them before they can fully bloom.
