Yeehaw

I'm popping in with a card for Farm Quest General Store Challenge where I've been asked to be the guest designer for the day!  Yeehaw!  What an honor.  This is a fairly new challenge and is so much fun.  There's still time to enter for this current challenge so check it out!

I got a little bit country here - since that's always the theme of the challenge!  I've used two images from Art Impressions, colored in Copics, cut out, and then mounted on a oval die cut of patterned paper.  All  of this was mounted on the wood looking background paper and then the sentiment was stamped with a very old one from Close to My Heart.  Of course I just had to add that small die cut star and a bit of twine.

Head on over to the Farm Quest General Store Challenge Blog, check out all the rules for the Anything Goes card or project, and join in on the fun!

You probably have to be old for this one - but I can still remember the flying horse (Pegasus) like in the above picture for Magnolia oil company.  Every time I'd peddle my bicycle to town I'd pass the "filling station" where the horse sat on top of the building and I thought it was so cool.  Yes, we called gas stations filling stations back in the day!

Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!
Lynn

  2. This is so cute and so "farmish". That's a great new challenge and I'll see if I have anything relatable to use for it. I, too, remember Pegasus and being called a filling station. Back in those days someone came out and filled your tank up and washed your windows!

  4. OH! What a marvellous, fun, colourful card. It's "Country" to me, I may be wrong, after all I'm in the UK! Doesn't matter either way, this is a fabulous card in every way. LOVE it.

Out here in New Zealand one of out petrol companies also had a red Pegasus as their logo - so long since it disappeared I cannot remember which it was!

  7. This is just too much fun and it's as country as country can get! I love how you colored those characters and added the woodgrain background and twine! Congrats on your guest design spot too, you've earned it and really came through with this fun card. Yes, I'm old and I remember Pegasus too!

  8. What a fun card Lynn! Who can resist this couple? I love the way you colored these ranchers/farm hands in, they are a hoot and wouldn't they be a hoot in real life?! Love the design of this card and yes indeed being from TX you need twine and a star on this card! I totally love this one! Oh my, I certainly remember that horse/Pegasus but I don't remember if it was from a filling station down south or on a building up here in the north. We didn't have Magnolia Oil company that I remember in the south, but with this mind who knows and I know it wasn't in the north. Now my brain is hurting. LOL But yes, we call gas stations filling stations too! Oh how I miss a full service filling station!!! Hate self service with a passion! Can we just go back to the olden days, pretty please?! Hugs, Brenda
