A Green Leaf

This is a card for fall - and yes, I already know that one little leaf should have been brown, rust, mustard, or anything other than green. However, green it is! I figure you can look at this two ways - either it's symbolic of the last leaf falling with winter coming on - OR - the cut ants got to this tree and just stripped it!

The image is from Recollections and I used some unknown patterned paper (trying to use up scraps) and Old Olive, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. The image is "framed" with the Scallop Edge Medallion (from the Resources page at SCS). And that shiny, shimmery, multi-colored ribbon was sent to me by Mary at Southern Moments. Beautiful ribbon and thanks again so much.

This will be for several challenges:
Creative Inspirations Paint - leaves (even though there is only ONE leaf here)
Crafty Emma - Forever Autumn

Thanks for stopping by............

  6. This is lovely, the colors are just wow!!! Ok, now for your little leaf, I know here in North Texas we have quite a few green leaves that fall, they don't all turn color. So, it is a Texan leaf ;)

  22. I like how you did the partial scallop frame to showcase the nice tree image. I like the combo of patterned papers and colors with this layout.

I think it's perfectly ok to have a green leaf in autumn. They do happen. In our woods, we have one tree that is tucked within a grove of other trees. As the outer trees turn gold and red and rust, that little tree on the inside stays green for the longest time. When all the other trees have shed their leaves, this one finally starts to turn gold.
