Autumn Deer

This is my second post of the day.........Shopping Our Stash post is directly below this one.

It's {Pin}spirational Challenge time again!!!  We're being sponsored by Squigglefly and you could be our next winner of a wonderful prize package!!!!!  Be sure and check out the blog for all the details and then enter into this fun challenge.

I've used an image from a retired SU set called Noble Deer.  Pretty image but I always run into a road blog on trying to color this baby.  BUT, I've tried again using Prismacolor Pencils this time.  Again, did some embossing, added some DP, twine, and a couple of brads.

When the word Fall or Autumn is mentioned around this part of the country, all the men get that gleam in their eye, slap on the camo, get the old hunting license, and get ready for deer season to open.  Seems to me these animals are just way too pretty to shoot!    Since we've got several male relatives having a birthday this month and next, this will be one of the cards for them.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Kaboodles (Colors of Autumn), Cards for Men (Animals) and Paper Pretties (Something for Fall).

All my company is finally gone (thank goodness - LOL!) and I should be back in somewhat full swing in the next couple of days - I was going to say "back to normal", but that seldom happens around here!

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

  2. Personally, I hate hunting, but I do understand it's part of 'America'. I guess if hunters are using the animal for meat, it's OK.....but just for 'fun' is another story.

Your card is a beaut! Love that twine and how you tied it too!

  3. Great guy card Lynn! I have that stamp set but it hasn't seen ink yet. Yours is fabulous... love the papers and embossing too. Even the brads and twine say 'guy'!

  4. Lynn, You certainly had no trouble with your coloring of this image. You did a beautiful job. (I find it a hard one to color also so I usually don't) Your embossing, papers, brads and twine all work great together. I agree with you about hunting deer (Any animal really). My Dad used to say, "It's not a "sport" until the deer is also allowed to carry a rifle". Hope you get some time to rest and relax now that everyone is gone.

  31. Your coloring is fabulous on this!! I love the sketch-like feel! The twine is the perfect manly embellishment!!

Your seasons seem to revolve around hunting seasons as much as ours. I agree that the deer are so beautiful and couldn't bring myself to hurt one, but they are so overabundant here that we would be in a real mess if there wasn't a hunting season.
