Belly Button Pearl

I've been SO bad lately!  Don't think I've posted a card since Friday!!  The last few days have just been a "I'm not in the mood to craft today" type deal.......so, I didn't!  I'll try to be better - but no promises.  The weather is just too beautiful to stay indoors right now.

I got a "wild hair" the other day and signed up for an on-line class called Pattern Play!  I'm so bad at mixing and matching patterned paper so thought maybe I could pick up some hints.  I can tell you right now though, all the patterned paper on this card is just making me dizzy!!!  I'm thinking I still must have a lot to learn but am picking up on some fantastic hints on working with patterned paper!    Anyway, I tried to mix some of it together and this is what came out. I'm going to have to re-think my thinking on all this as I just like a lot of white space on cards.

Oh, almost forgot.......you're probably wondering about the title of this post - Belly Button Pearl!  NO, I do not have a pearl in my belly button - but this little owl does!!  It's one of those tiny pearls from SU and if you look REALLY close, you can see it in the center of the punched out flower.

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

  12. Hello Lynn, I really like your CAS style - it makes your cards stand out. But this owl is cute with pearl in the belly button. The papers are nice and cheery - just right for spring. And the fern at the bottom looks so real. Good luck with the class.
    Love,

  13. Lynn, I certainly know that feeling of "I'm not going to craft today" especially when it's beautiful outside. This card is darling and I'm so very glad to hear that it is the owl, and not you, that has the pearl in the belly button. LOL. I was thinking of taking that class also. I may sign up today for it. Have a wonderful week.

  14. Adorable, Lynn. I love patterned papers, as you know, but also have a great appreciation for lots of white space, especially the way you manage it. Not as good at it myself. If you have trouble mixing papers, settle for just one pattern on a card. I like to put one real pattern with another that is so subtle it almost looks like solid CS. :-D

  19. Practice makes perfect, right? :) I am kinda loving the bright colours - and there's still white space. That scalloped edge is fabulous. And I love that he's got a pearl in his belly button :)

  20. Never would have guessed that you have trouble mixing patterns on your cards. I always enjoy your combos, and think you do a marvelous job with them. This one is definitely not too busy, but a bit diff from your 'lots of white', which I also like! Love how you did the owl punch with all the colors, and yes, it is wild. But also very beautiful. Be interested in what you think of the class. I need to take that one too! TFS
