Holey Moccasins

Of course with a title like this I'm sure you're probably wondering where I'm coming up with "holey moccasins".   I was skimming through all the challenges posted this month and loved the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I started gathering up all my stuff with some type of an idea in my head and got the card completed but that little wooden "thank you" really needed some twine or something coming out of the hole.  Jim walked in about that time and asked what I was doing.........

I'll normally just say "nothing" since I don't want to go into the whole explanation of stuff - you know, like what color twine do I need to use, what kind of knot, etc......(he can give some weird answers sometimes!)  Anyway, he had his old moccasins in his hand and I asked what he was doing with those.  He said he was chunking them since they had holes in the soles!  (Eye roll here!)  I spied the laces and said I HAD to have those NOW!!!  I'm not sure but I think that was when he gave ME the eye roll!   ..........Jim's shoe laces are in the hole now (and they don't smell like the shoes thank goodness)!!  Nothing like a little recycling!

All the supplies I used on this card are from the SSS June Kit of the Month.  I never have a thank you card for a guy - and yes, they need a "thank you" ever so often too!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Sketch Saturday.

 Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

  6. Lynn, I was going to turn the computer off and call it an early night but had to come and comment when I saw this very eye catching (not smelly) card... the papers are awesome. I LOVE this creation and I believe you when you say the laces don't smell like the shoes. Haha.
I also like the way you have used the two oval scalloped nesties.

  18. Chuckles at the background story. Just love them eye rolls!!! Your card was very 'graphic' (is that the proper word I'm looking for?), well anyway, very clean and streamlined. Loved the colors & your moccasin cord was the perfect touch of whimsy. Very much a guy card, especially with the wood & cording, Very good thinking out of the box! TFS

  19. LOL, Lynn! And people think we are nuts when we say our cards sometimes "make themselves!" If that wasn't a magical meant-to-be card, I don't know what is!

  23. Hi Lynn,Sorry I've been absent lately, too hot to do anything plus computer issues. Anyway I love this card and I've very proud of you for eyeing those laces. They worked perfectly. I really like the wooden thank you also. Enjoy your week, I'm sure it is as hot down there as it is up here this week.

  24. I love your story about the "Holey Moccasins" !! That sounds like something from one of the original Batman movies: "Holy Moccasins, Robin, is that Tonto and the Lone Ranger?"
OK, weird humor aside, I love this card, and the lacing is perfect for the wood sentiment. What a great eye you have for spotting recyclable things! :-D
