Take a Hike

There's several people I would probably like to tell "take a hike" but not the one this card is going to!  This is for Jim's sister who lives in California as she loves to hike the hills around where she lives.  I tried to use earthy type tones in the DP to give it more of a "nature" feel without giving it too much of a manly look.

I'm not a hiker at all unless you include shopping at Walmart.  Those stores are so big you feel like you're on a hike!  I love it when Jim and I go together since he'll head for one part of the store in his little electric cart and I head to another pushing a basket.  No way am I going to roam all over that store looking for him so I just call him on the cell phone - that is, unless I see all the displays he's wiped out in his cart.  Then I just follow the destruction!

The image - ah....now this makes me happy - is from a CD that Just Inklined has for sale in their store for a fantastic price and includes the best of 2012 digis!  So many fabulous digis on there - everything from Christmas to flowers to fun!  Take a look.

Thanks for stopping by...............
Lynn

Haha, Walmart, the huge Walmart, every time I visit the US, I wonder why everything is so big, not just the super market. Lol.

    Hope your hand has healed.

  4. Such intricate coloring and a wonderful card for a hiker! Thanks for the link. I'll go take a peek, although I don't need to be enabled any more. My pockets are about empty! Did you see that you won the prize at Pixie's last week? Congratulations again!

  6. Oh man. We have a family rule now about the Walmart. Jessi stays put. Jessi doesn't go look for ANYONE or ANYTHING. Otherwise we spend a very long time circling each other...lol
I love this card. I really love the idea of one saying 'go take a hike' too :)

  8. Me no hiker either, except in Wallyworld or a good stamp store! My idea of camping is a nice motel, with restaurants & craft stores near. That said, I love this card. Good image for your subject & you colored it to a fine T. It did have a very 'natural' feel to it, and I have to admire this lady of mature years who still has the energy to put on her hiking boots! Will check out this cd. TFS & got a laugh out of the "go-cart" stories. Hugs

  16. What a fun card Lynn! You have a knack for picking the perfect images for those people in your life! I used to have to ride one of those electric carts, and they frightened me to death! They're so touchy and I was sure I was going to give someone that run-down feeling in Walmart one day! Thank goodness I'm now able to walk again! LOL Have fun shopping!!

  22. I love the shopping story and following 'the path of destruction'! Way too funny. We do the same thing with our phones... much easier and less stress.
This is a great image and fab card Lynn. It does look very earthy and 'nature-like'. I really like that background paper... funny, it's probably not a piece I would buy but when I see this, I think, 'now why can't I find paper like that?'!

  23. This is such a cute image! Really made a great card. Yes, I can add to the cell phone story. In fact, it's about the only time we use our cell phones...to find each other in the stores. (our grandchildren just shake their heads when I say that...I think their phone are attached to them now.)
