Getting Messy

I got a little messy this weekend and threw this card together.  I needed to get a masculine birthday card in the mail today and was looking for something fairly quick and easy.  Of course nothing is quick and easy for me but it came out ok just the same.

I have three bottles of the Tim Holtz distress stains (blue, red, and yellow) and smeared those all over a craft mat, threw on some water,  and then smashed out a piece of water color paper over them.  After that dried I added the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and clear embossed it.......squirted some kind of silver shimmer stuff on it and tied the twine.  This was mounted on black card stock and it's now ready to go in the mail!  Guess this is another one of those git 'er done cards - but I did have blue, red, and yellow fingers!

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

  17. Well, yu & yer inky paws did a fantastic job on gittin' 'er done. This is different from your clean white style, but still very clean in the background with this bold sentiment. I LIKE it - LOTS. And you should do more of these, cause it is just wunn-er-ful. Your guy will love it. Liked the little twiney bow too. Well done, my Lynn! TFS & Hugs

  20. Fantastic background, Lynn! I love your idea of putting all the color and water on the craft mat and then putting the watercolor paper down on top of it. I always try smooshing it around on the paper and it never comes out the way I want. I love how yours turned out! Stamping the sentiment right in the middle of it really worked.
