Burlap and Butterfly

I've seen so many cards out in blogland that are similar to this so decided to try one and see what happened.   Mine looks different of course and I'm not half as impressed with mine as I was some of the other ones I saw - but at least I tried.

This really is one of those cards that looks better in real life - maybe because of the shine on the top butterfly where I used some Frost White Paint.  I stenciled the light blue in the background with Tumbled Glass, added some Certainly Celery green to the leaves, attempted to do some twine loopy things, then cut a piece of burlap in the "bug", punched a white circle and mounted the Impression Obsession butterfly die.  The underside of the butterfly was die cut in a piece of purple card stock.

That burlap.......ah......Connie, over at My Grammy's Attic sent me several pieces of this stuff and it's actual burlap but has a backing on it so it cuts great and is wonderful.  Thanks again Connie!

Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

  2. GMTA I guess. This morning I was sitting staring at things trying to decide what to do for a get well card I need to make and I thought I'd do something with the new stencil I just got. I love what you did here and I would be very impressed if I were you. Gorgeous job, now if I can do half as good as you did, I'll be happy. Have a wonderful day.

  9. Good morning Lynn.. This is just stunning, love the colors and love how you used that burlap circle. I know what you mean about cards looking better in person. Many times when I look at the photo I have taken, it doesn't look as good as the real thing. I guess along with learning how to color better I have to learn to take better photos too :).

  14. Lucky you, with the backing! I only wanted a 1/4 yd. of natural, and do you know that unless I got the one with gold thread in it, I would have to get a 10 yd. bolt! That was at JoAnn's Fabric. Anyway, This is an awesome card with the butterfly, and I am in awe that you have a burlap circle that is not frayed! Nice job, Lynn.
