I'm a Princess

Well, I'M not actually a princess but this card will go to one!  The cute little image is from My Grafico who is sponsoring the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week!  We have recipe challenge straight from Nana Connie - who dearly loves the color purple........SO, we need to see your creations with the following recipe: One image, One patterned paper, and the Color of Purple.  Be sure and stop by Tuesday Throwdown and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and enter the challenge this week.

I used a pierced circle die from Lil Inker and embossed it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  The purple piece of patterned paper was a scrap and the 'hello princess' is from a no-name set I've had stashed away for a long time.  The little girl was colored with Copics and then I went over her entire dress with the Wink of Stella Pen.................Now........on to the hair!!!!!!  Yikes!!!  I don't like coloring hair, I'm not good at coloring hair, and would rather not have anything to do with hair!  I think I've watched every video and tutorial out there and it still looks ratty!  They all say to use the "flicking motion".  I'm sorry, but my flicking just does not flick!  I was really wanting to paper piece some hair on her - like maybe in purple - but she just didn't seem to be the type with purple hair for some reason!

Anyway........be sure and check out the Tuesday Throwdown challenge and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package from My Grafico.

Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

  2. Lynn, this is darling and of course I also love the color purple, so it's a winner. I have a hard time with hair. I always have to start with the hair because I used to do the hair last and then would end up throwing the whole thing out. I've learned. I think you hair look good, so, little princess, don't worry your pretty little head. LOL Have a great day.

  3. Well now, Lynn, the first thing I noticed and admired about your princess was her hair! I think you need to lighten up on yourself! She is adorable! Love that pierced circle with the swiss dots on it for her background. It really sets her off nicely! Well done, even the hair!

  7. Lynn, your card is so cute and I'm sure the little princess receiving it will love it.

I think you probably know I love dots, though I don't use them that often. Anyway, I like your paper choice.

Don't fret over that hair. It looks good. I know you were dying to make it purple, but you are right, she doesn't seem the type. :-)

  20. I don't like coloring hair either. I can work the flick, it's the blending I don't do very well! LOL She's a real cutie, and you know I love purple too, so I'm going to have to make time to play along this week! I love this CAS design!

  22. I take exception to the hair remarks, Lynn! You did a great job on her hair. Hair is not the easiest thing to do (at least IMHO), and neither is flicking! But don't beat yourself up on the hair...it's just fine!! Love all the dots & pierced circles and the purple princess is a real beauty. So is this card! 'Nuff said! TFS & Hugs. (don't you just love those WoS?!)

  25. It's OK, Lynn -- you can be a princess, too! ;-) Your paper princess is darling. Such a lovely combination of purple and white, and polkadots! I think you did a beautiful job with your coloring, including the hair, which really stands out to me. That flicking thing can be tough to master for sure, though!
