Books and Birthdays

Nothing better than a good book AND a good birthday!  A gift card to one of the book stores will be included with my card.

The stamp is from a set from Jan's Doodles and I've used this over and over again making bookmarks.  This time I decided to make a card and it came in handy for a birthday too.  I used a Tim Holtz stencil and distress ink behind the little girl - that was colored with Copics.  The small heart was a die cut and I used Glossy Accents on that and then added the tiny pearl.  To top it off I added the twine.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Jane's Doodles (add embellishments).

Thanks for stopping by...........
Lynn

  1. Next to stamps books are my favorite things so I'm in love with this card. A great sponged background and this darling image is perfect for a booklover. I can see how cute it would be on bookmarks. You colored it so well and the shading gives depth to the book.

  12. That's such a cute stamp, Lynn! I can see why you have used it for bookmarks but it does make a sweet card, too. I admit I love books; real books, not Kindles or audio tapes or other means of 'reading' books, but the real paper and binding kind of books. I love the feel, the texture, the smell... sigh, I'm probably getting old! :-D
