Horsing Around for 2 CCC and What's Happening

This is a little long for a post - not what I normally do I don't guess.  Just a bit about what's been going on with me - and also about our December challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.

This is our last challenge for 2020 at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.  Instead of having a sponsor this month, the design team is allowed to use whatever we want on a card or project.  There WILL be a prize though so come on over and enter your critter card or project for a chance to win.

I used an older stamp from Impression Obsession for my card today, keeping it super simple.  I think I've used this same stamp and basic design every year for at least a few Christmas cards......but this will be the last year.  I had a lady email me the other day wanting to know if I'd sell her this stamp since she hasn't been able to find it anywhere.  Her daughter has a horse farm/business and she wanted it to make cards for her to send out.  Nope....won't sell it.....but I WILL send it.  So I sent it to her.  I've enjoyed it for a lot of years and I know she'll enjoy using it for a lot of years too - and that makes me happy.

WHEW!!!!!  2020 is almost over with - and what a year this has been!  It's been a wild ride hasn't it?  Maybe next year will be better.  I've been missing in action for several months from my blog now but I've actually been enjoying myself.   My plan is to get back in the groove of things MAYBE after the first of the year.  At least a little bit.

As far as what I've been doing............EEP!!!!  I must have had a complete brain break-down or something but decided that I was going to learn how to quilt.  I've always said that before I died I wanted to do this.  You know..........leave a little something behind so after I'm dead and gone the kids can take it to Goodwill and say "she tried".

I got the first one made - a small one - and my daughter's dog (beast) ate several rows of it.  YEP!  Not to be discouraged (after threatening to kill the dog), I made another one.......and then another one, and have kept going.  I'm giving three as Christmas presents this year - plus two tote bags.  I have several more in the process but won't be finishing those for a while.    Are they good.....well, no.............Are they perfect........no way..........Am I enjoying it.........yes.  I named my sewing machine Stitches........and we're burning rubber (or thread) on quilts.

So, that's what has been going on with my life lately.   We're all staying well here and that's a huge plus.  I hope everyone has a nice Christmas and New Year.

Thanks for stopping by.....

Slaying the Birthday - 2CCC

Time once again for the challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  Our sponsor for this month is The Paper Shelter. Come on over and join in on our challenge.  All you have to do is have some type of critter on your card or project.  The winner will receive a wonderful prize from our sponsor.

I used My Little Dragon that was provided by The Paper Shelter.  I colored the image with Copics.  Actually I colored it TWICE with Copics.  After completing the coloring the first time I got the bright idea to do a little sponging around the oval.  Looking good.......until my hand slipped and distress ink waxed out the entire image almost!  Ugh!  So, grabbed the Copics and started all over again.  The brown paper behind the image looks like it has a black design......actually it's gold foil and really pretty.

Thanks for stopping by.....and have a great day.

It's frog time again.....and also time for another challenge from 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  YEA!!!  Come on over and play along with us this month for a great prize package.  All you have to do is submit a card or project with a critter on it.  Our sponsor for this month is Beccy's Place
This is one of Beccy's images.  You already know how much I love the frogs and this little gal frog is very, very special with her googly eyes and long lashes!  She's just waiting to be sent to some cute little girl to tell her to have a happy (hoppy) birthday.
Thanks for stopping by...........and I'll see everyone in November!

Chicken In - 2 CCC

Time for another challenge a 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  We're being sponsored this time by none other than QKR!  Cute, cute images!  Create a card or other project with a critter on it and come on over and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from QKR!

I used this cute chicken image from QKR for my card.  She just sorta looks like we all feel on some days.....  I used some Kraft cardstock along with patterned paper in a wood grain look.  Inside the circle was stamped with a chicken wire background stamp.  The image was colored with Copics.

This chicken looked like me last week after coming out of the dentist office.  Not sure if I was up or down - pretty sure it was mainly down though - and a WHOLE LOT poorer.  I still have my original teeth though so there's always that!     I guess I'm actually "chicken in" again too since I haven't been over here since last month.  I'm still on my blog break and enjoying it.  I'm staying busy and believe it or not, I haven't been arrested for bad behavior even one time.  Pretty proud of myself for that one - for SURE!   I'm missing all your wonderful creations though.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and have fun entering our challenge.  I'll see everyone next month for the October challenge.  The year is flying by........fast!

Frogs are So Cool - 2 CCC

It's time again for another challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.  Come on over and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from our sponsor for this challenge, Sheep Ski Designs.  All you have to do is to create a card or project that includes a critter on it.  FUN!

I have used this cute, cute frog from Sheep Ski Designs on my card today.  I colored him/her in Copics and Polychromo pencils.   I sponged in a few clouds and then used a very old Simon Says Stamp sentiment on it.

The entire time I was coloring this little guy, I was wishing that I was out on some remote pond just floating away on a lily pad with not a care in the world.  Not that I'd really fit on a lily pad - BUT you get the message anyway.

How about with a yellow flower too.............

Be sure and come on over and enter our challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.

Thanks for stopping by..........

Bear-ly Here for 2CCC Challenge

It's that time again..........time for another challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  We're being sponsored this time by Jan's Digital Stamp Shop.  Come on over and play along for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from Jan's shop.  (By the way.....Jan has a sale on Christmas images going on in her shop right now.  Be sure and check it out!)

This is a bear.......a bear for Christmas - or actually just any kind of bear.  I used mine for a Christmas card though.  Added a little embossing, some Christmas patterned paper, a couple of tags from a Newton's Nook die and a bit of ribbon.  I also used the Pre-Colored version of Jan's image.

NOTE:
Now, the reason I'm saying I'm bear-ly here..........All is good and I'm "here" just fine, but.........I'm going to be taking a break from blogging.  This will be the only DT I'm staying on (mainly because I'm co-coordinator and Connie said I wasn't allowed to leave just yet)!  I did drop the other design teams and am sad about that because both Pammie's Inky Pinkies and Jan's Digi's are both wonderful design teams to be on.  I just feel like I have to take a break from it all right now and it wasn't fair to ask Pam and Jan to let me disappear for a while.  I've been feeling like everything I do lately is looking the same so guess I'm a little burned out now and need a break!  I'm sure I'll be back soon and also probably having all my cards look alike once again!!!!!  Oh well............
But, I will be back on the first of each month for my card for the 2 Crafty Critter Crazy Challenges so it's not like you'll never see me again.  Otherwise I just won't be around in Blogland.  I will probably be posting a few cards on Instagram so check over there ever so often and you may see me.

Thanks for stopping by........

Smiling Plants - PIP Challenge

I don't know about your plants, but the only time mine smile is when they get water and sunshine.  Of course, I smile then too.

Time again for a Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge and we have something a little different for you this time.......A Clean and Simple challenge!  Come on over and enter your clean and simple project or card for a chance to win a wonderful prize from our sponsor, Newton's Nook!

I'm embarrassed to say how many times I had to take this picture and it still looks a little funky to me.  After getting an actual pain in the neck from it all, I called it a day and said it is what it is.  I used an older set of Newton Nooks stamps called Newton's Day Dream.  I stamped, colored, and added twine.  The little bird was stamped, cut out, and popped up on dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by.........and be sure and enter our Clean and Simple challenge.

Happy Flowers

I probably went a little overboard using this stamp from Simon Says Stamp, but I was having fun!   I bit the bullet and bought a set of watercolors from Altenew - and I'm in love!  I don't know if I'm any better using watercolors but I'm trying and actually even liked the looks of these cards using them.  Here's a couple of cards I've made so far.  I'm still a work in progress........

The strip sentiments are also from Simon Says Stamp and they're already done - you just cut them apart and pop on the card.  Easy!

It's NOT the end.......Yet

A real quick card here - and a sad but true story.  My sister in law recently found out she has breast cancer.......She's 80 years old - and MAD!  It's like she said - at 80 years old I should be worrying about dying of natural causes and NOT having breast cancer!  She's so mad she can't even see straight.  She's one of these ladies that blows and goes continually and just never stops!  She travels, shops, works part time, and is super busy all the time and I  think the main reason she's so mad about having this is because it's going to slow her down - for a while anyway - and she doesn't have time for that.

I really think about the only thing that would cheer her up right now would be for someone to bring her a truck load of wine - maybe two truck loads!    Since I can't do that I thought I'd send her this card instead.

Thanks for stopping by...........

A Little Bit Of Christmas - Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge

We're still going full force over at Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge and would love for you to come play along with us.  It's an anything goes challenge.  Be sure and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize from Jan's shop.

I used one of Jan's new releases - and we're talking about a little bit of Christmas.  It's never too early to begin on Christmas cards.  This one is so pretty and I used the colored version of it.   If you're in a hurry at Christmas the pre-colored digis are the way to go.  The image is called Christmas in July and the sentiment is from another Christmas set by Jan.

Thanks for stopping by.............

Gnome One Like You - PIP Challenge

Pammie's Inky Pinkie's Challenges starts up again today and we'd love for you to come on over and play along.  We're being sponsored by Sheep Ski Designs who so graciously provided us with images to use today.  It's an Anything Goes challenge so play along with us for a chance to win a wonderful prize package.

There are gnomes all over blogland it seems but this is actually my very first one.  I have bought another set since though and that's where the sentiment came from for my card.  I kept it clean and simple to highlight that cute little gnome.  Colored him with Copics, did a little distress inks for the background, added the clouds, and then mounted him on fun stripe paper.

Thanks for stopping by..............and be sure and check out our Challenge!

Old White-y

The last truck Jim had was red but with red apples and a red truck it all started looking the same.  So, I went back a few more years and thought I'd do his white truck - White-y (not a very original name for sure)!    White-y probably had 200,000 miles on it when it finally bit the dust but to be honest, I think he kept setting the mileage back in case he ever decided to trade it!  White-y LOOKED like it had about 200,000 miles on it too!  Maybe even more.  It saw a lot in it's lifetime.  (Oh, and yes, we always named our vehicles - doesn't everyone)!

This is a very old Stamping Up stamp.   I used watercolors and colored the apples, basket, grass, etc.(can you even see the apples!!!!!!) and  kept the truck itself an off gray/white.  The sentiment is from Simon Says stamp.

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.

A Little Note - Jan's DIgi Stamps

Jan's Digi Stamp Challenge starts again today!  Come on over and join us with a card or project for a chance to win.  Our challenge is always Anything Goes!

I never ever do a card in orange except maybe for Halloween....... and actually the patterned paper I used for my card today is Halloween paper!  It's got all sorts of bats, boots, and witches on the other side but it seemed to go perfect with this little girl's dress.  I used a Pre-Colored image for my card today but it does come in the black and white version from Jan's shop too. It's called A Little Note and can be found in Jan's shop.  Great image for a card that's going in the mail as this one will.

( This is the THIRD and final post for today!!! I already know you're tired of looking at me anyway!)

Thanks for stopping by........

Have a Sweet Christmas - 2 CCC

It's time for another challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.  It's always an Anything Goes on it as long as you have some type of critter on your card on project.  Our sponsor is Lily of the Valley for this challenge and they have some awesome images.  I think I probably see a shopping spree coming on!

I used this little girl and a deer to make an early Christmas card.  It's already June and it's going to turn into December before we can bat an eye I'm afraid.  I kept this very simple and used a lot of white other than coloring the image with Copics, the red gingham ribbon, and the Nuvo dot inside the snowflake.

(Back again - and don't roll your eyes!  This is the SECOND post for today.....I'll be back!)

Thanks for stopping by............

Happy Mushrooms - PIP Challenge

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenges starts today and we'd love for you to come on over and play along in our Anything Goes challenge.  We're being sponsored by Limited Runs Digital Stamps who also provided images for us to use today.  We'd love for you to come on over and play along.

I used the fun mushrooms and made a clean and simple card.  They're colored with Copics, and I then sponged in some sky behind them, added an old sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps (now closed), and a small wooden heart that was in my stash.  A strip of black and white polka dot paper placed  down the side and it was a done deal.

(This is the FIRST of THREE posts for today!  All the stars happened to line up that way!

Thanks for stopping by...........and come on over and play along in the challenge.

Kiss My ....... Donkey

The title of this about sums up the entire deal here.  I'm afraid you'd have to insert something other than donkey though!   I'm trying out this new Blogger business and am completely lost.  As far as liking even one little thing about it........oh please!!!!!  I may never figure it all out and if I don't  I guess I'll know what I have to do.  In other words, if I just disappear off the face of Blogger, you'll know why.  I'm way too old to learn new tricks - and yes, Blogger is tossing out a new trick here.

This little donkey was in a set of stamps that a friend of mine sent me not long ago.  It'd make a cute image for a baby boy's card too I think.  Anyway, all I did was color it and add some patterned paper.  In fact, there are THREE different pieces of patterned paper there.  Using up scraps!

Thanks for stopping by...............

Ribbit - ing Into The Weekend - and Summer

Check out the look on this little guys face.  This is exactly how I felt a couple of days ago when we hit 100 degrees here once again!  It's like he's saying - Say What!!!!  It's not even really summer yet or I didn't think it was.   Or maybe he's got that side way glance since he saw a good looking female frog pass by.    Just check her out.

The image is from Art Impressions. Having a little trouble getting good pictures for some reason, but I'm working on it.........inside!

Coming Soon.........Summer - Jan's Digi's

Those dog days of summer are approaching so fast now.  It's already started getting hot around here and I know it'll get a lot hotter before it's all over with.  These next three months will be a scorcher for us I'm afraid......But, sure beats shoveling snow (although I wouldn't even know how to shovel snow)!  Anyway.........

I'm back here again because I just wanted to remind you that we still have our Anything Goes challenge over at Jan's Digi Stamps - and would love for you to play along for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from Jan.

Jan's images come in black and white and also pre-colored.  I actually colored this one but love her images that are pre-colored too.  This image is a new one in her shop called A Boy and His Dog.
I colored the image with Copics and then added two different pieces of patterned paper and some twine.  I dabbed a little distress ink on the image background too.  The sentiment comes with this set of stamps.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Artsy Stamper Challenge - its a guy thing.

Thanks for stopping by...........

Birthday Girl - PIP Challenge

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge is back again starting today.  It's an Anything Goes challenge so be sure and come on over and enter your card or project.  Our wonderful sponsor this time is Polkadoodles, who also provided the images.

I did a very CAS card using this little birthday girl.  When you have two granddaughters here and they pop in at least once a week asking for a birthday card for a friend, you have to make sure you have plenty on hand.  This one will fit the bill nicely!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure an head over to our challenge and enter.

Butterflies from Somewhere

Weird things going on with my computer lately.  I did all the cool stuff you're suppose to do before getting a photo on here and posted the picture above - and it was upside down.  Ok.  Used the one without a watermark and yo.....it's right side up.  I'm not even going to question any of it.

Next problem is where did these butterflies come from!  The digi image is in my folder for QKR images.  All is fine and good except I can't find it on the QKR store site.  Maybe it's been discontinued or maybe it's from somewhere else......Or maybe it's just the computer being weird again.  No idea.....but it was printed out, colored, and a sentiment from TE added.  I actually made several like this with different sentiments.  The image is just so pretty and it's a very simple card but I love butterflies and love the image.

I"m going to enter it in the challenge at QKR Stampede.

One Leg-er

Another fun birthday card.  I love flamingos and how they can stand on one leg like that.   All the zoos are closed right now with the 'stay at home' order but I did see a virtual tour of one the other day.  The flamingos looked so happy without everyone glaring at them.

I used a stamp set from Newton's Nook for my card today.  I stenciled a little with some oxide inks in the background, colored the flamingo, and then popped him up.......added the sentiment and it was a done deal.

I'll enter this in the Inky Paws Challenge at Newton's Nook. (Color Challenge)

May Flowers - Jan's Digi Stamps

Time again for another challenge from Jan's Digital Stamps.    It's always an Anything Goes challenge and we'd love to have you come over and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from Jan.

I've actually colored my image this time!!  It's so easy to use the pre-colored ones from Jan since they're already colored beautifully but I decided to color this one myself and used pretty much the same colors Jan did on her pre-colored one.  Anyway, it's called Flower Cart is so pretty.  I made a very simple card by cutting the oval in the colored card stock and then mounting the image behind that.  The sentiment is from another set of Jan's digi's.  I tied a bit of twine around it and added some clean gems and called it done.

Thanks for stopping by.........and check out our challenge.

Sending Smiles - PIP Challenge

Once again we have an Anything Goes at Pammie;s Inky Pinkies Challenge - and would love for you to stop by and play along with us.  Our sponsor this time is Gerda Steiner Designs!  Come on over for a chance to win a wonderful prize package!

The image was provided by Gerda Steiner Designs and is so cute.  Love the smile on this little bear.  After coloring it I attempted to use a cloth and the blending solution to give it that furry look.  As you can tell, this didn't work out so well......however, he's still a cutie.  The sentiment I used is from an old Mama Elephant stamp set.

It's that time again.......time for another challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  It's always an Anything Goes challenge so come on over and enter your card or project for a chance to win a wonderful prize from our sponsor Fabrika Fantasy - who so graciously provided the DT with images to use.

This IS a mouse, right?  Or maybe an overgrown mouse that turned into a rat.......Whatever he is, I love him.  Kinda makes you want to give him a hug......almost!  I used a pre-colored image , added a die for the base background, some patterned paper, a little embossing, and a bit of twine.  The sentiment is an old one from Stampin' Up.  Think this will make a cute birthday card.

Thanks for stopping by..............

Sunning.....

Another week gone by - or wait a minute.......it's only Wednesday!  Ok, another half week gone by.  With all this stay at home fun stuff we forget what day of the week it is.  Thank goodness for the pill boxes that have the day of the week written on the top.

This is a frog!  I know you weren't really sure with him all stretched out like that on top of his toadstool......Maybe he's just sunning himself like Rambo does.    The stamp is from Art Impressions.

And speaking of Rambo sunning himself..............

More Flowers

For some reason I seem to be on a flower kick.  I'm thinking it's probably because a certain daughter and son of mine won't allow me to leave the house to look for the real thing.  I finally told my daughter she was in charge of finding some flowers to plant but she really doesn't know the difference between a flower and a weed so I'm a little concerned with that.   In the meantime, I'll just put them on cards.

This is an image from Power Poppy that I really like.  Just something about the simplicity of it......and yes, I made a simple card too!  I'm bound and determined to figure out these Zig markers with water so that's what I used on a piece of watercolor paper.  I tried to make the bucket look a little rusty.    The sentiment is......from somewhere.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Flower Power) , over at AAA Birthday Challenge (Dots and/or Spots), and Cute Card Thursday (Dotty)

Thanks for stopping by........and I'll see everyone back on Monday.  Have a nice weekend and stay safe and healthy.

Books and Birthdays

Nothing better than a good book AND a good birthday!  A gift card to one of the book stores will be included with my card.

The stamp is from a set from Jan's Doodles and I've used this over and over again making bookmarks.  This time I decided to make a card and it came in handy for a birthday too.  I used a Tim Holtz stencil and distress ink behind the little girl - that was colored with Copics.  The small heart was a die cut and I used Glossy Accents on that and then added the tiny pearl.  To top it off I added the twine.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Jane's Doodles (add embellishments).

It's time for another challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  We're being sponsored by Di's Digi's .  It's an Anything Goes challenge his time so be sure and come on over and play along for a chance to win.

I used a balloon stencil and some distressed inks for the background and then stamped an older Simon Says Stamp sentiment.  I added a few clear gems and then mounted it all on some blue card stock.

Testing .......One, Two, Three, Four

When you're home bound, can't go anywhere, quarantined, have the "stay at home" order not only from the Governor but also from your children - you find things to do.  Let's see.....I've read a lot, watched a couple of movies on the iPad (love technology), cleaned very little, played with Rambo, tried to exercise (LOL!), and piddled.  Mainly I've piddled!  Now if you don't know what piddling is, let me tell you - it's the greatest thing ever.  You appear to be so busy but you're really not doing a single thing and certainly don't accomplish anything either.    I learned that when I was working.  The object was to look busy when you weren't!

Anyway, I was piddling around with this image the other day.  It's from MFT and such a pretty flower. So, I got out my colored pencils, watercolors, and Zigs.  I'm bound and determined to learn out to do this watercolor bit and also make something look good with the Zigs.

First I started off with my pencils though.  The top card on the left with the multi colored flowers was done on Neenah paper using the colored pencils.  The bottom one on the left was also using colored pencils but I used some Strathmore colored pencil paper.  I really liked using them on the Neenah better.

Next up was using some Koi watercolors that have been gathering dust now for a couple of years. I used those on the top card on the right.  No matter what I'm just not a watercolor person I don't guess.  The bottom right card was done using the Zigs and water.  Still a learning process on those but maybe getting a tiny bit better.

Anyway, there you have it and it was a fun way to piddle.

Thanks for stopping by.....and have a nice weekend.

Pansies to Cheer You - and Remind You - Jan's Challenge

Just a reminder that we're still having our challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps and would love for you to stop by, enter your Anything Goes project, and have a chance to be a winner!

I used one of Jan's brand new to the shop stamps called Pansies for Mom.   Beautiful pansies (and my very favorite flower too)!  I used a pre-colored image because they're always SO pretty.  I also used a couple of pieces of some lavender paper, ribbon, and clear gems.  The green piece of patterned paper behind the image is really, really, really looking washed out!  UGH!  What can I say.  In real life though it's actually pretty.  Um......Ribbon is looking a little saggy too.   What can I say!  Use your imagination!!!

Stop by the challenge blog and enter your card or project.  You will have plenty of time as the challenge won't end until the end of the month.

Thanks for stopping by...........

All About Frogs for a Fun Friday

Hopping by with a Fun Friday card...............We're talking frogs now.  I mean, why not - right?  These cuties are from Art Impression.  Not sure why I love frogs but I do............and that brings us to the story about the first (AND LAST) time I went frog leg hunting.  Yes you heard that right.

Jim and I and another couple were sitting around talking about frogs (no idea why on that one at all!) one day and we (THEY) decided that we'd go get some frog legs and cook them up that night.  Of course the best time according to Jim to get the frogs was at night when they all came out to do their croaking or whatever they like to do.  We found a good pond behind some friends house and all four of us piled in a boat.  It's pitch dark and the guys are happily paddling along and all I can think about are the creepy crawly's out and about and probably getting in the boat with me - and my pants!  And snakes....YIKES!   But, I'm a good sport so never say a word.  So we're peacefully paddling along ....and then KA-BOOM!  The entire boat shakes, the guys start paddling like mad and all I see is this big "A" bull frog sinking.......Uck!  They got to it before it went under and threw it in the boat.  Double Uck!  The "hunt"ended after we had about 15 frogs - lots of legs - in the boat with us..........  Don't even ask what my thought was on that!  They cooked them up that night and I just couldn't eat one. All I could think of was that poor bull frog croaking his little heart out and then the KA-BOOM!  I did end up trying frog legs a year or so later - from a restaurant - and they weren't too bad.  Sorta tasted like chicken???

Thank heavens these cute little guys won't end up on someones plate!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More (Clean and Simple).

Have a good weekend and stay safe and healthy - and SMILE!

These Boots...... - Jan's Digi's

Every time I turn on the radio to an oldies station, I hear that Nancy Sinatra song.......yep......these boot are made for walking - However, these are probably more like some pretty rain boots and made for wading instead.   I do love the flowers growing out of them!

It's time again for another challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge.  It's an Anything Goes challenge so be sure and stop by and enter for your chance to win some wonderful images from Jan's shop.  Beautiful and fun digis!

I've used the pre-colored version of April Showers Promise.  A beautiful set of stamps with so many images to choose from.  I've framed this out with a Gina K die and mounted it on some fun polka dot yellow paper.  The bow, which is also included in the set of stamps, was added at the top.  Just a pretty card to brighten someones day.

Thanks for stopping by........and be sure and check out our challenge!

Hugs - PIP Challenge

It's time again for another Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge!  It's always an Anything Goes challenge and we're hoping you'll come on over and play along for a chance to win a great prize package.  Our sponsor this time is Beccy's Place.  Wonderful images and so many to choose from.

I'm using a wildflower image from Beccy's Place that I thought was so pretty.  It's been colored with Copics and Tri-Blend Spectrum Noir markers.  The frame die is from Gina K. and the butterfly from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is from a very old Simon Says Stamp set.

It's A Good Day - 2 CCC

It's a good day today..........One reason being is that it's time again for another challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!  It's always an Anything Goes challenge and all you have to do is have some type of critter on your card or project.  Come on over and enter for a chance to win!

We're being sponsored this month by Digi Doodle Studio's who has some wonderful images......like the one I used for my card today.  Loving these little hedgies and yes, it's a good day to be happy because it's a birthday for someone.  I colored the image with Copics, used some black glaze on the hedgies noses, added a clear gem to the center of the bow, and added a little embroidery floss.  The white background with the dots was done with a stencil and some Nuvo Glimmer Glaze....shiny stuff!

Thanks for stopping by......and check out 2 Crafty Critter Crazies and enter.

The Giraffe

Something a little different from me today.  I finally broke down and bought several Blue Knight stamps the other day.  Love them!!!  I kept seeing so many pretty cards with them so just had to jump in and get my feet wet too.  I love this one with the tree and giraffe.  It also comes with a pretty sentiment but since I was going to use it for a guys birthday card, I added a very old one from Simon Says Stamp instead.   I blended several of the oxide inks for the background and then stamped over that with a stencil with a walnut brown oxide .  I thought it gave the background sort of a giraffe-y look.

That's it folks.......a quick card.

Fun Friday - Pumping Iron (Sorta)

Ok, so some of us are in self isolation, self quarantine, sheltered in place, staying at home, or on house arrest (yikes - not really I hope).  Anyway, it's Friday and most people need a little fun in their life today I think.

I've been staying at home/self isolation/banned from leaving the house by the kids......and I decided that instead of just sitting around all day long, we needed to do a little exercise.  (Quit laughing)!  Anyway, the oldest granddaughter who is in college is now back home for online classes due to the university shutting down.  The granddaughter who is in the 7th grade is also at home for online classes due to her school shutting down.  And last but not least, my daughter, who is a principal, is also doing the online deal making sure all the teachers do whatever they're suppose to be doing online...........so..............(Lots of online stuff going on here as you can see)

I think the two granddaughters have a daily contest to see who can sleep the longest and I determined that needed to stop and we all needed to get moving up here.  Ok, so the youngest gets out the computer and puts it on some online exercise class.  What a frigging joke this is!!!!!  The instructor or whoever she is looks like she weighs about 90 pounds soaking wet - and can bend anything on her body. They really should have normal people doing this type of thing.

Ok - we all line up.  The two girls in the front, my daughter, and then the two dogs and I dragging up the rear.  We start doing all these fun little kicks and jumps and I'm actually doing fairly good (for an elderly person).  And then...........she says everyone has to get down on the floor and do a couple of pushups.  HA!  I get down on the floor, the dogs think this is best time ever and start licking me all over, I almost get one push up done, and then she says lets all get up again and do some jumping jacks.  Oh PLEASE!  I just got down on the floor.  So the two granddaughters and my daughter finally get me up back into a standing position.  I'm so tired now I can't even move - so I head to the couch and watch them sweat.  SO MUCH EASIER!!!  I've told them all they can now sleep as late as they want around here!

Thanks for stopping by...........and have a laid back weekend!

Practice

Oh my goodness!  It's been way too long since I even attempted one of the watercolor images from Art Impressions.  I love looking at them and even have several of the stamp sets - however, have I been using them.......of course not!  I DO need a lot more practice though!

Times are changing and so I think maybe I'll start trying to change a little too.  You'll see still my usual type cards (can probably pick them out of a line-up pretty easy) but ever so often I'll be trying to toss something else in the mix.

Also, big decision here to quit watching the news so much.  So many are idiots and like Darnell always says.....life is short!  It really is -  and damn, it's getting shorter every day!  LOL!  So, I'm determined to be happy for whatever is left of this old life.  I'm not sticking my head in the sand - too much.

Everyone stay safe AND healthy!

A Bit of Rain - And A Tiny Frog

A very quick card using an image from StarStampz who is the sponsor of our new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies!!!  It's an Anything Goes challenge as always and we'd love for you to play along for a chance to win.

StarStampz provided the DT with images to use and they have so many cute ones to choose from.  My card is SUPER simple - a little coloring, adding a couple of clouds, some patterned paper, a frame, and that's it.  Still think it'll be a cute card to send to someone. (Did you spot the tiny frog)?

Stay safe and healthy!

Shucks and a Howdy Ho

Just a couple of little gals - one saying Howdy and one saying Shucks!  VERY simple but two more cards done that  I probably needed to add to the stash anyway.  Clouds, grass, sentiment, paper piecing, twine, coloring.....done deal.

Update on things.......It's a crazy world out there right now so I'm hoping everyone is staying safe and healthy.  I, for one, have been self isolating /banned from going anywhere by the kids.  I don't need this mess and don't want it either so will do everything I can to keep from catching it. I find it a little hard to concentrate on things at times and probably need to quit watching the news.......but then again, how will we know what's happening if we don't watch the news.  It's not as bad here as it is in a lot of places yet and I'm thankful for that.

It's even hard to see much humor in things like this knowing how serious this crazy virus has been, is, and will get worse.  Stay healthy!

Yummy Birthday Cake - Jan's Digis

Time again for another Anything Goes challenge over at Jan's Digital Shop Challenge.  Come on over and join us for your chance to win some of Jan's wonderful images.

I went super duper clean and simple on this one today.  I even used the colored version.   I can smell that vanilla icing all the way down here in Texas.  Absolutely the only thing I did to this card was add the ribbon and sentiment (that's part of the set for this image), add some pink rhinestones on the cake plate, and then mount it on some blue card stock.  It was quick and easy - yes - BUT will make a great birthday card too!

I loved the cake plate with this image.  My mother was a teacher and then librarian with the school system when I was growing up and she also made wedding cakes on the side and sold them.  I still have her cake plates and they're so pretty.  Oh, and no, I was NOT allowed to help out making them - in fact I was banned from the kitchen and dining room as she cooked and decorated.  I couldn't even run through the house out of fear the cake would "fall".  She'd do all the decorations by hand and then put them in the refrigerator on wax paper - tiny little flowers and leaves, etc.  SOOOO pretty and  tempting to eat.  ( Yep, they were tasty.  I didn't mind very well!)

Thanks for stopping by...and come on over and join in on our challenge!

Birthday Flowers

I really have needed these flowers to brighten up my life lately.  I've been so far under the weather I wasn't sure (and still aren't sure) if I'd ever pull out of it.  Things are slowly but surely getting a little better though I guess.  Anyway, that's why I haven't been around.

The flower image is from Studio Katia.  Love the flowers and wish I was looking at the real thing.  Still too early around here to even plant anything and that's sad.  I need to see some flowers!!!  I used my Tri-Blend Spectrum Noir markers to color the flowers and then added a sentiment for this clean and simple card.

Thanks for stopping by........

Friends Make Life Sweet - PIP Challenge

Hey guys, it's time again for another challenge from Pammie's Inky Pinkies!  It's an Anything Goes challenge once again so be sure and come on over and enter your card or project for a chance to win.  We're being sponsored this time by The Cutting Cafe who also provided us with the digi images to use.

I'm not sure I've ever done any kind of shaped card before but........I used the mason jar image with the top and the label for the front.  I tied some twine around the top and then added pearls.  Yikes!  I can't even remember when the last time I used pearls on anything but it seemed to dress this up a little bit I thought.  I also stamped the sentiment in some blue ink and then added a tiny die cut heart with a pearl in the center.   I was going to bake up some banana bread or something and show that in the photo with this but well, it seems the banana bread got baked but was eaten before I could get the picture.  Such is life!

Thanks for stopping by......and come on over to enter our challenge!
