How About Another Penguin

Since I already had the set of Gerda Steiner Design penguin stamps out from my last card, I decided to make another with a different little penguin and a different design..........and different sketch challenge too!  I'm on a roll for Valentine's Day I guess......

I think the design paper with the hearts is from probably from Paper Studio and the stripe paper is an old old, ancient piece from Stampin' Up.  I can live to be 400 and still have patterned paper left over.  No matter how much I use I still keep finding more - or maybe it's just finding me!  It's so hard to pass up cute paper.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday for their sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!

A Few Hearts

It's getting close to Valentine's Day and I figured I'd better get with the program and get a few cards made for that.  I don't send out too many for Valentine's Day - mainly to the granddaughters - but I need to get them done.  It's a little hard to believe it's almost Valentine's Day when it seems like we just finished with Christmas.

I followed the sketch for CAS Colours and Sketches (and will enter it in their challenge)  and used a penguin stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs.  Added a few bits and pieces of scraps, some hearts, and a sentiment...... and it's a done deal.

Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!

More Raccoons!

Another little raccoon from Hero Arts for you today.  Since it's another clean and simple card there really isn't too much you can say about it - so I just won't say anything.

I know I  haven't been around lately.  The computer bit the dust last week.  It wasn't pretty at all.   Surely this new one will last a little bit longer though.

Garbage

I think I probably took at least 10 photos of this card and no matter what I did, it wasn't coming out right.  The colors are all wonky and the whole thing looks totally screwy!  But.....it is what it is and I'm tired of trying to get a good picture of it.  In other words, I just gave up!

The little raccoon is from the Love Bandit set - Hero Arts.   Not only was is impossible to get a good photo of it but it took two days to finally come up with an idea on how to get that raccoon on a card and have it look right.  I saw the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches though and that seemed to make it all come together - so I'll enter it in their sketch challenge this week!

Thanks for stopping by.............and have a great weekend

Git 'Er Done Valentine

Yep, Valentine's Day is right around the corner so I figured I'd better hurry up and get a couple of cards made.  This really is a git 'er done card.   My brain was having a hard time kicking in that day.  It does that more days than not lately though it seems.

That cute little penguin and the sentiment are from Gerda Steiner Designs.   Gosh, there's not much else to say about this other than I added a piece of twine.  Done deal!

I assume penguins can be considered critters so I'll enter then in the 2  Crafty Critter Crazies challenge.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!  Whether you celebrate or not, hope you have a beautiful day.

Friends really do make life a little bit sweeter you know!

A little bit of heart embossing, fun patterned paper and gingham ribbon, hearts of course, and those darling rabbits from Paper Smooches.

I'll enter this in the Fun and Cute challenge at Paper Smooches.

Love You Mouse

Just spreading a little love today!

I've had this little House Mouse stamp (Contented Mudpie) forever and never could come up with a good way to use it.  Mainly, I'd just sit and admire it - tooooo cute!  I love the expression on his (her) face.  As I was doing my Valentine's this year I decided to use it and it seemed to work out perfect for a way to tell one of the grandkiddos that I love them.

I'll enter this in the challenge at House Mouse and Friends (Love is all Around) and Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Green Sneakers

I realize it's super duper clean and simple, however, I can just see Rambo and I hollering at Jim to say Happy Valentine's Day.  Not that he'd hear us anyway though.  This will be for Jim for Valentine's this year.  I've never given him a romantic card at all and don't think he'd expect it this year either.  Gotta keep him smiling.

The stamp is from Art Impressions and is actually one of their 'front and back' stamps.  Using just the 'front' of the stamp, I left off her right hand.  (She's got it on the other side of the little doxie holding him up I suppose).  I'd never carrying Rambo this way though because doxies already have too many back problems.  Anyway, I colored this in Copics and then got down to the shoes......Oh groan!  What color do I use.  Brown probably would have been the color most normal people would use but thought I'd give her a little class and color them green.  I mean, wouldn't everyone LOVE some green sneakers - or do you already have some?!

I used two tiny snippets (the pink heart and the strip of patterned paper down the side on this so think it may qualify for the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.   It's a great challenge and I really wanted to enter a couple of cards this week, but it just didn't happen.  Hopefully I can next week though.

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.

Valentine Bandit

The bandit has hit!  It's almost Valentine's Day and I'll have a few cards to share in the coming days.  All the raccoon's around here are really a gray and black color but since I picked up a brown Copic and started coloring, I figure this one is just going to have to be brown.  We really do have a lot of raccoon's around here too and we can't even leave Rambo's food out at night or they come steal it - not that he would dream of eating outside anyway.  If he had his way he'd sit at the kitchen table and eat with us.

The stamps I used for this are from Newton's Nook (Sweetheart Tails).  Cute little guy isn't he!  The heart die is from Simon Says Stamp.  I inlaid all the red hearts (and one white one) after cutting.  Twine added and the card is complete.

I'll enter this in the Inky Paws Challenge at Newton's Nook (Love Theme), Pixie's Crafty Workshop challenge (snippets), Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (anything goes), Addicted to Stamps and More (Holiday), Addicted to CAS (Red).

From the Heart Kittens

I finally got a card made!  YEA!  Nothing exceptional but it's going to be cute for Valentine's Day I think.  Lots of hearts for sure.

Playing along with the progressive challenge at From the Heart Stamps I used this cute little kitty image.  The image is free if you played along last month, and if you didn't you can still get it in the store and play along for this month.  I also used the weekly sketch (my take on it) at From the Heart Stamps and will enter it in that challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by.......

Wild Thing

Getting a little wild here today!  So........what's the answer...... is a zebra black with white stripes OR white with black stripes?  Guess that's the question for the day.  I'm sure there's a correct answer to that but when I was a child we were always trying to determine which it was.

I've used a stamp from Repeat Impressions for the zebra and frame and the sentiment is from Stampendous.  I added a bit of Christmas paper, a rectangle die, and the tiny heart. A very clean and simple card.  I think I just made a Valentine card for next year!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Simon Says Stamp (alphabet x, y, or z), Addicted to CAS (animal) and at My Time to Craft (zoo animals).

Lucky Stars

I'm still on my non traditional colors for Valentine/love cards I guess.  We're looking at brilliant blue today.

I masked off the square and used a star stencil with transparent embossing paste.  I then sponged in some Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue, added the sentiment from Lawn Fawn, and then a little wooden heart.  Sounds easy enough - then WHY did it take me four hours to do it!!!!!

This is another entry in the sketch challenge that Leslie has going on at The Crooked Stamper.  It's her first challenge and I wanted to show her my support.  I do love a sketch challenge and am looking forward to the future ones from her too.

I'd also like to enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).  Not too many snippets on here except for the sentiment banner and some white strip snippets on the side to break up the blue border a little.

Daisy Picking Valentine

I'm breaking tradition here and using blue and yellow on my Valentine card instead of all the reds and pinks.  I've seen so many Valentine cards the last couple of weeks and am MORE than ready to move on to spring or summer - or even fall!   I'm almost to the point of wanting to put away all that red and pink stuff and not even looking at again until next Valentine's Day!

Anyway, this image came by way of From the Heart stamps with their progressive challenge.  I played along last month with another cute image so received this one for free this month and will be playing along again!  They have some really cute images there.

I used to love picking daisies and then pull off the petals.  I ALWAYS had to cheat!!!  I mean, who wants to end up with the "he loves me not" business anyway!

Have a Heart

Newton's Nook is having another challenge and I just had to play along with this cute little raccoon that's trying to steal someones heart.

I used the Falling Hearts stencil and some red embossing paste from Dreamweaver's for the background and then added the Lawn Fawn tag with this cute critter perched on top!  He's from the set called Sweetheart Tails from Newton's Nook.   He's colored in Copics and then a snippet of patterned paper added.

I'll also enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Home Sweet Tepee

Our challenge at Tuesday Throwdown starts today with the theme of Embossing!  We're being sponsored by Avery Elle!  Great sponsor and great challenge AND we'd love for you to come over and play along this week for a chance to win a wonderful prize from the sponsor!

For my card I used the Avery Elle set called Home Sweet Home.  It's a great set with some really cute images.  I tried something different on this card and the jury is still out on whether I like what I tried.  I used some Pan Pastels on the sky and the hillside.  I think the sky was fine - but my grassy hillside looks more like dead grass that would like to be green - maybe kind of like it usually is in Texas!  I embossed the clouds with the Swiss Dots folder and also added a couple of pine trees to the hills.  The hearts on the teepee and beside the sentiment finished it off.  Of course I forgot all about "grounding" the tepee so maybe I should have titled this The Floating Tepee instead!

Be sure and check out Tuesday Throwdown this week and enter for your chance to win!  See all the wonderful inspiration from the DT too!

Heart Girl

Today starts another challenge over at Squigglefly Our theme this time is Glitter and/or Sparkle!  We'd love to have you play along in our challenge.  Just remember to use an image from Squigglefly to qualify for the winning entry.

This is a new release image from Sal Scheibe called Heart Girl Vintage.  There's really nothing vintage about my card but the image is sweet.  I used some silver glitter paper on the sides of the patterned paper and also some Stickles on the little hearts.  Lots of pink on this one - but I have four granddaughters and they all pretty much love pink.

Thanks for stopping by.......and be sure and head over to Squigglefly to see all the inspiration from the DT and enter for your chance to win.

Stealing Hearts

Happy New Year to everyone!!!!!!  Hope you have a happy and healthy year.

How to Catch a Heart

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Valentine's Day!  I've enjoyed my blogging break so much but decided I'd better get back over here before everyone forgot who I was.  I've really missed seeing everyone's wonderful creations while I was gone and will get by your blog as soon as possible.   Christmas was nice ( and way too LONG), New Years is almost here, and Valentine's Day is right around the corner.

I know this card is beyond being clean and simple but I just had to do something with this image to show how cute it was.  At least it'll be a very easy card to mail!  I just haven't had a whole lot of time with company coming and going and basically just being a total bum!

This image (pre-colored) is from Deedee's Digi's.  In case you missed the news, Deedee's Digis is closing it's shop.  So sad and I also understand that other shops are having to close too.  All this is due to some type of new European tax law.   However, the good news is that Deedee's Digis will be open until around the end of January AND if you create a card using a Deedee's image and enter the challenge this month you will receive a $10.00 gift code to the shop!!!  WooHoo!  You can stock up on all those cute digi's she has!!  That's all there is to it!  Create the card and received a $10.00 gift code!  Also........all who enter will be entered into a drawing for a $50.00 gift code to the shop!  Can't get any better than that for sure.  Check it out!

I'll be back shortly!

Thanks for stopping by.......

Bear With Me

Bear with me - one more Valentine and then I think this will be the last of the litter.  This cute little digi is from Deedee's Digis and I just love it to pieces!  The little bears are so precious and just perfect for a sweet Valentine's Day card.  You can find these little guys in Deedee's SHOP along with so many more fabulous images.  This one is pre-colored, called You Have My Heart, and it made into a very quick card for a last minute Valentine card for one of the granddaughters.

Deedee also has a progressive type challenge.  Check out the blog for more information on how to enter and earn a free digi each month.

I've used some Real Red card stock along with scraps of patterned paper.  The banner......UGH!  After fiddling with this thing for about 30 minutes I just finally threw in the towel and gave up.  I'll be the first to admit......I do not know how to make a banner look like a banner!  In my mind it looked so cute and just like someone knew what they were doing.....but......didn't happen.  It's still pretty cute just not like I think a banner should look.  I really don't think the three year old grand will know the difference though, so it is what it is.

Love, Cherish, Valentine, or Adore

That's the theme for our Digi Haven challenge beginning today - Love, Cherish, Valentine, or Adore!  What could be easier with Valentine's Day one week away.  We're being sponsored by A Day For Daisies who also provided the images for the Design Team.  Be sure and check out our challenge and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package from A Day For Daisies.

I used this little angel carrying a basket of hearts.  She colored in Copics and the Wink of Stella pen used on her wings.  A little Frantage was sprinkled around and then was framed out with an oval nestie.  The heart die on the side was recently won in some blog candy from Mary.

That's it for today - but will be back tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by.......
