Falling Leaves

It's fall (somewhere) and the leaves are falling (somewhere) ....but not here!  Maybe soon - we're hoping for a little bit of cooler weather anyway.

This is so NOT me at all. Why I picked up black cardstock I have no idea and then to mount it on white.  Not sure where my mind was going at all but it all came out ok in the end I suppose.  I used an older die from (I think) Simon Says Stamp and then an even older sentiment stamp from Stampendous.  The gold cardstock is from My Favorite Things.  The reason I say it's really not me is because it seemed to take forever to make. I used distress inks and then die cut the tree numerous times, cut out all the tiny leaves AND those buds and then glued them back on the tree (and have I ever told you how I totally hate glue!), and then colored the trunk and branches in Copics.  It's mounted on gold and I gold embossed the sentiment.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Allsorts - Autumn Trees, Leaves and Berries

A Bit of White - and Guess Who

Another very simple card using an embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp (Wildflowers).  It was my intention to maybe use some distress inks over the raised part of this but I just couldn't see messing up something already so pretty.  I love this embossing folder.  It didn't say it was a 3D folder but the embossed area is raised up pretty good on here.  I also sprayed it with a little water before embossing so that may have helped some. The sentiment is a very old one from Stampin' Up.

I completely forgot but National Dog Day was on Saturday - and since I haven't posted a picture of Rambo lately, here you go.  He's aging a little bit faster now (aren't we all) but still gets those bursts of energy at times.

A Real Quickie

This is probably one of the quickest cards ever made.  Brenda, over at Friends Craftin' With Friends posted a card the other day where she swiped mini ink cubes across the paper and then added this gorgeous die......go take a look at her card as it's a beauty.

Anyway........I needed a sympathy card and I usually always do a "thinking of you" card instead and even those are so hard for me to do.  So, I took a friends advice and did a super quickie CASE because I need to get it in the mail this afternoon!

I swiped three colors with the mini distress ink pads, stamped a Technique Tuesday flower image, and added a Sugar Pea Design sentiment........done deal and it's headed to the post office!  This is a very poor CASE of Brenda's card but like I said - I needed something fast!

A Bear

Yep, it's a bear.....just sitting around doing nothing.  I guess he's being a bum like I am on some days.  I needed a couple of thinking of you cards so I made these the other day.  I used a stamp set from MFT that um.......I bought last year before Christmas and still hadn't used.  Shame on me!

Anyway, as I said - it's a bear.  Sitting.  Doing nothing else but thinking of someone.  I did a little stenciling after masking the bear and that was it.  Both of them I made are already in the mail now.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More (Clean and Simple).

Fall Colors

I'm loving those wonderful colors of fall ........ and I'd really love that wonderful weather of fall too!  We really are cooling down a bit around here though so that's good.  Anytime we can get a "cold front" that cools us down to the 80's around here we're excited!!!

Using a stamp set from Impression Obsession (Solid Tree)  I made a one layer card today.  The trunk of the tree was stamped with some distress ink and the leaves were stamped using some Taylored Expression ink.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Impression Obsession (colors of Halloween or fall)

A Couple of Roses

Just a couple of roses today using a stamp from Sugar Pea Designs.  The first one, being yellow, would have to be the yellow rose of Texas I guess.  The second one, in red, is just a rose.  I'm still not sure why I tried distress ink behind this one but I did so it is what it is.  Looks a little dirty or something!  Yikes!

They were both colored with colored pencils and that's about all you can say about them I guess.

I followed the sketch at Case This Sketch so would like to enter that challenge.

Flower Cat - 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

Instead of a 'flower child' today, we have a 'flower cat'!  The image is from Ike's Art and called Daisy Cat.  Yep, it's time once again for a new 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge.  Come on over and show us your critters.  Any kind of critter will work and we'd love to see your creation.  There's also a prize from Ike's Art for the winner.

Like I said, I used the image called Daisy Cat.  It's colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and I used some unknown design paper along with some organza ribbon and a snippet of twine.

Remember - You have an entire month to enter your creation in 2 Crafty Critter Crazies!

More Flowers

Ever since I saw this Power Poppy digital image, I've wanted it.  I finally broke down and got it the other day because in my mind I could color this just as pretty or even prettier than I'd seen others do.  In my mind........  As you can see I'm still a work in progress on the coloring.   I feel like I need to make the darker colors darker and the lighter colors, lighter.   I have a hard time with all that shading stuff.   I still like it but will keep on practicing.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts and then I added some crystals from Studio Katia.  The paper is unknown and extremely old.

Thanks for stopping by.............and have a great weekend.

A Flower is a Flower is a Flower.......

....or is that suppose to have something to do with a rose?  Now matter though because this is a peony!  The stamp is from Sugar Pea Designs.  I attempted - and notice I said attempted - to do the fancy no line coloring.  What a deal that was.  I got it stamped and then of course couldn't see what or where I'd stamped.  It didn't turn out too bad but I'm not skilled at that no line business.  The flower is colored with Prisma's and the leaves with Copics.  The sentiment was embossed on Vellum and added.

I haven't been around the last few days but have been a little busy.  Will get to visit everyone as soon as I can.

Thanks for stopping by..........

A Flower

Evidently I'm not real wordy today..........so this is just a single flower.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Flower is from Simon Says Stamp and frame by My Favorite Things.

I'd like to enter this in the challenge at Addicted to CAS (doodle).

Thinking of Fall

I'm STILL not sure where I thought I was going with this card!  No earthly idea! It doesn't even shimmer or shine or anything and so totally "not me"!

When this stamp set from SU (French Foliage) first came out I saw so many pretty cards with it and figured I HAD to have it!  Um.....it's never been used until now!  I sponged a bit, stamped some orange-y and blue type colors, added the sentiment and Spice Frantage...... and then because it was looking so plain decided to add the dew drops and twine!  There again - it sure didn't look like what I thought it was going to look.  Does anyone else have flubs like this or is it just me???  PLEASE tell me it's not just me!  LOL!

Anyway, that's it for today - and it's back to the drawing board now.

Stars

I think the three cards I posted last week were all in the red, white, and blue combination.....now you get another one!  I'm really just trying to use up all the scraps that are on my desk so you may even see another one or two this week - and then again, maybe not!  But hey, it's July the 4th week around here so red, white, and blue just seem to be the "in" colors.

This is super simple using the star die from SU and a sentiment from Hero Arts.  Not much else to say about it except it's going in the OWH box.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets) and QKR Stampede (anything goes).

Off To Boot Camp

No, I haven't joined up - um.... don't think they'd take me at this age (THANK GOODNESS!!!).  I wouldn't last five minutes there!!!   This is going to a very sweet young man that IS in Army boot camp right now and thought he would probably like getting a little mail and a "cheer me up" card.

I used the sketch from CAS(e) this Sketch, added some stars, twine, and did the whole card up on Kraft card stock.  I didn't add many extras to it at all since I don't think guys really like all that "stuff" on cards.

Thanks for stopping by....................

Here's Fall

This is my SECOND post of the day - The Shopping Our Stash post is directly below!

Well....I say fall's here.......but actually it hasn't really hit down this far south yet - so I'll just have to look at it on my card.   Sigh!   It seems we pretty much skip the season around here except for maybe a couple of weeks.  It is nice to see the trees start changing colors though - just haven't seen it yet.

Our {Pin}spirational Challenge starts to day with the beauty of fall!  We're being sponsored by Stitchy Bear this time and be sure and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize package!!  Pop over to the blog and be inspired by all the creations from the DT too.

I recently got this stamp from Impression Obsession and love it since you stamp the leaves separate and can change out the seasons that way.  For this go round I used some fall-ish colors and added the little swing.  The fence is a punch I've had a long time but don't think I've ever used it before - it looks more like a fence for a Halloween card since it's kind of broken down and missing a few boards.  LOL!  It probably could have used a little taller fence - guess I'll have to just go shopping now!  Good excuse!

Isn't our {Pin}spirational photo a beauty!!   Love the orange against that blue sky!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Broken Box Stock (Fall Foliage Color Palette, Clearly I Stamp (Fall into Fall), Dilly Beans (Autumn Colors), and Sassy Studio Designs (Fall Colors).

I probably won't have a card until next week.....I really tried so hard so get some crafting done the last couple of days but it just didn't happen!    If I do get one finished it'll not only be a surprise to you, but also to me!  We had company all weekend and now have company coming again on Thursday (through Sunday) so I need to clean the teepee! LOL!  Seems like I just did this last week!!!  Oh well.......I probably won't even be able to turn on the computer while they're here so if I don't pop into your blog, that's the reason why - but I'll be back!

Thanks for stopping by.................

Fun with Monkeys

Just a fun little card for someone that needs a lift!  I never seem to have that type of card and yet need them at times.  It's a  little different than a "thinking of you" type card  - when I think of that type of card, I always think in terms of "pretty", not fun - so this will be somewhat different.  Besides that, what's NOT to love about a monkey - um....maybe the smell of one is not so great but they sure are cute little buggers!  LOL!

I love these little guys and hopefully the card will cheer someone up.  The image and sentiment are from Hero Arts and I'll enter this in  A Blog Names Hero challenge (Freestyle) and Try Stampin on Tuesday for the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.......and I'll be back on Tuesday with my Shopping Our Stash and {Pin}spirational posts!

Precious Paper

The theme of our challenge at Shopping Our Stash is MY PRECIOUS!  Now, you may ask what we mean by that - well......for our challenge this week we'd like for you to use something you've hoarded that you've NEVER planned to actually use!  Maybe this is a piece of paper (like mine), a special embellishment, a piece of ribbon, or that gorgeous piece of lace you love looking at but don't want to use!  Whatever it is that you have in your stash, come on and use it and enter our challenge!

I used this piece of paper I won in some blog candy from Linda.  It comes from a paper pack from Crafty Individuals (Trees).  I really hated to add anything to it, but went with a flower I punched out and sprayed with some Glimmer Mist to give it a little shine and and a Thinking of You sentiment - along with a scrap of lavender ribbon.   I'll be sending this to a very special lady that just turned 89 years old last week - and of course I missed her birthday!

Come on over and enter out challenge at Shopping Our Stash - and be sure and check out all the fabulous creations from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by............and I'll be back in a minute with my post for {Pin}spirational Challenges.

Just Not Me

Black and orange is SO not me!!!  When my son was playing football, their rival schools colors were black and orange - didn't like it then and don't like it now!  LOL!  But, when I saw the inspiration photo over at {Pin}spirational Challenges I thought I'd play along.  I kept thinking "Halloween" but just was not ready to even think about making a card for that, so.......here's what I came up with.

Using the sketch from Mojo Monday, your now have a black and white card with orange butterflies on it!  You're probably thinking you've never seen an orange butterfly..... but now you've seen three of them!!   And yes....THIS time I even fluffed out the wings on those butterflies!  I really don't know what difference that makes though because once you stick it in an envelope to be mailed they're going to get squashed down again!  Guess I'll just have to tell who ever I send this card to, to be sure and fluff them back out.   Pretty self explanatory on all the stuff for this card for the challenges at {Pin}spirational and Mojo Monday.

Thanks for stopping by........and hope everyone has a great weekend.

Nuthatch

Pretty much a quick card for today.  I recently won this image from Mark's Finest Papers and thought it would be just perfect to send to a cousin on mine.  He has been having so many medical problems recently, lives alone, and has no family close by.  I just wanted him to know I was thinking of him.  I just never think about sending "thinking of you" cards to males - and sometimes they need to know that they're not forgotten too.

The sketch I used is from Victorine Originals and I'll enter this in their challenge.  The DP is from K and Company and the image is framed with Label 1 nestie.  I used SU markers on the image and also used my Stardust glitter pen to highlight the branches and pine cones (although you can't see that in the photo).  Since this will be for a male, I used the twine instead of ribbon and then topped it with a brad.

I'll also enter this in the challenges at Party Time Tuesday (use a feathered friend), Crafty Cardmakers (no floral embellishments), Stampin Sisters in Christ (thinking of you), and Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle (winter something).

Thanks for stopping by...........
