It's been so hot in Texas this year even the lizards are refusing to leap! They mainly just stare at you, ask what the heck is going on, and then go back to sleep. I don't blame them at all and usually want to do the same thing.
It's been a while I know. In the meantime I discovered Instagram. Talk about a babe in the woods....that's me! My number one son (he's actually the only son) got it set up for me and then went back home! Grrrrrr.........Slowly but surely I did figure out a few things on my own - sorta. If you're on Instagram you can find me here or just do a search on jimlynn01 when you get on Instagram. It's quick and easy and a real time saver for me right now.
Things are rocking along here as always I suppose. Could be worse and could be better so we'll just go with the flow of things right now. It really has been hot here though - topped out at 107 the other day and I didn't want to walk outside for fear of melting (as if that'd ever happen). Even Rambo rolled his eyes at me when I told him he needed to go outside for his usual business.
The above birthday card used a stamp set from Pretty Cute Stamps. I added a couple pieces of pattern paper and sequins. Done deal.
Edited: I completed forgot about entering this in the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge so am doing it right now. Fun challenge!
Thanks for stopping by and I'll get by your blog when I can.

Don't Drop Your Drawers!
Ah, the panties.........several years ago I met her at lunch and we went walking into the local Dairy Queen. You stand up at the counter to order and of course all the tables in there face the counter. We were about half way through ordering and I looked down and yep..........she'd dropped her drawers!!!! Her panties had fallen all the way down past her knees. Seriously! I'm one of those that always tries to find humor in situations but I completely lost it on this one. I laughed so hard I was crying. Everyone in there looked over to see what I was laughing about - right as she was trying to pull them back up. That just made me laugh even harder!! We still laugh about it to this day so I know she'll get a kick out of the card.
The image is from Polkadoodles, patterned paper and sentiment from SU, and the flowers from a die.
Changes..........also have a few changes I'm going to add here. I'm finding it almost impossible to do all the commenting, make a card, take care of Jim, do everything else I need to do around here, and have any free time for myself.....plus, I'm making myself miserable even trying! So, I'm not going to be commenting or posting as much in the future and I hope you understand. Hopefully this will leave me a little extra time for other things.
Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!

Guesting for the Critters!
Critters, critters, everywhere! I'm so excited to be the Guest Designer over at a new challenge this month called 2 Crafty Critter Crazies! WhooHoo!!!!! We all love the little critters and make cards using them - so come on over and join the fun and enter the challenge.
The challenge is always Anything Goes as long as you feature some type of critter. Yep, that's all it takes....critters! This month our sponsor is a store I actually wasn't familiar with but I am now and they have so many wonderful images. It's called Fabrika Fantasy. Check it out! You'll be amazed!
Now, on to the card..........This is a Chipmunk! I've never seen one in this part of Texas but am sure we have them somewhere. Pretty fascinating little guys that remind me of a baby squirrel. This one is just happy that springtime weather has finally arrived (although down his way, we're hot enough for summer now) and wants everyone to be happy. I'm not going to bore you with all the details on what and how I did whatever, but will tell you some of the supplies I used for this. The main image is pre-colored from Fabrika Fantasy and I added some birds from Lawn Fawn and Newtons Nook, a cloud die with embossing added, distress inks, a frame die from Mama Elephant, and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.
I do hope you'll check out 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge and enter your card.

Christmas Mice
Once again I'm here with a Christmas card. I'm trying so hard to do at least one a month for now and having the Rudolph Days Challenge seems to help me do just that.
I'm also back with another Penny Black stamp. I just love all the stamps in that set and will be using each one of them I'm sure. AND, to top it all off, I colored this with the Prisma's! I'm not great using those pencils but keep on trying. There's must be some kind of trick to the shading that I haven't mastered yet - and may never. It actually looks pretty good on this one though. I added a small pine tree, some patterned paper, hillside borders die cuts, sequins, snowy looking embossing folder, and ribbon. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
I'm really under the wire on entering this in the challenge there. I actually thought there was at least one more day in this month. Time flies!

Live the Life
Artsy, fartsy - I'm not! I probably have a lot more fartsy in me than the artsy, but still had to give it a shot on this card. I think probably to have it look right in that category I would have had to add a lot more stuff to this - but it is what it is!
I recently got some of the distress oxide inks and thought I'd see what it'd do on glossy paper. Other people may be able to swing that but not me at all! They do show up a lot brighter though on glossy paper but just don't blend as great for me on that. On regular card stock they blend like butter! Anyway, after smearing a bunch of different colors on this I used a stencil and made the blue dots. Lastly, I stamped an older Tim Holtz image. The sentiment looks a little whoppy-jawed (crooked) but it really isn't. Oh well...............
Thanks for stopping by..............and have a great weekend!

Woof Woof, Go Graduate
I thought the Tim Holtz crazy dog and the graduation cap accessories were just the thing to use on a congrats card for her. Other supplies used are You Matter stamp set from SSS, Birthday Bits from SSS,, Lil Inker die frame, googly eyes rhinestone, Delicata gold ink, and foiled card stock.
I'll enter this in the challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies (to use a critter on your project). It's a new challenge and so much fun!

Sunup To Sundown
I have to do so many guy birthday cards during the year and think this stamp from Crackerbox Palace is always a good choice. Very CAS with some distress inks for the background and layers upon layers of the frame work. I decided in order to give it a little dimension I'd layer three of each of the frames on top of each other. So, lots of snippets on here and lots of grinding of the Cuttlebug. Twine added, happy birthday on the inside, and it's a done deal!
Because of all the snippets of the frame I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop and the challenge at Double D Challenge - to create with a silhouette.
