Happy Easter

 This is one of similar cards I sent out for Easter this year.  I'm going to be missing until sometime next week so just wanted to tell everyone to have a happy Easter if you celebrate.  The rabbit and butterfly are from Gerda Steiner stamps and the flower pot is from Memory Box.

Fa-La-La-La-La.......

Llama!!!    A friend of mine used to have alpacas - which I suppose is like being a short llama - and I just loved them.   Nothing is cuter than a baby one either.  I can't say they smell just really nice because they don't and they also spit, but they're still cuties.  It's a little different when they come to you for a hug and then spit in your face.  Uck!

Anyway, this set of stamps is from Newton's Nook.  It really can be used for either Christmas or a birthday I think.  In fact, I used it for a birthday card not long ago.  I paired this with some red and white gingham paper and baker's twine.

I'll take this festive Christmas card over to Rudolf's Day challenge.

A Flower is a Flower is a Flower.......

....or is that suppose to have something to do with a rose?  Now matter though because this is a peony!  The stamp is from Sugar Pea Designs.  I attempted - and notice I said attempted - to do the fancy no line coloring.  What a deal that was.  I got it stamped and then of course couldn't see what or where I'd stamped.  It didn't turn out too bad but I'm not skilled at that no line business.  The flower is colored with Prisma's and the leaves with Copics.  The sentiment was embossed on Vellum and added.

I haven't been around the last few days but have been a little busy.  Will get to visit everyone as soon as I can.

Dashing Through

Another super duper clean and simple card for Christmas.  I really debated whether or not to add some Nuvo, sequins, or something else and the final decision was to just not add anything.  (Besides that, I figured I'd screw it up and get glue all over the place or put the Nuvo drops in crazy places  and where they didn't belong--------not that I've ever done anything like that before though........Um.......)!

The cute little reindeer and sentiment come from Clearly Besotted stamps.  The die cut frame is from My Favorite Things (peek-a-boo).  The ground 'snow' was made using a MFT stencil and I used distress ink on the sky adding the snowflakes with a white gel pen  That pretty well sums up the card.

Thumper Rocks!

This is a little different for an Easter card with that sentiment, but it's for a teenager and I think she'd get a kick out of it.  I just love this little rabbit from Paper Smooches (A Little Lovin).  The sentiment is from there too but in a different stamp set called  Sentiment Sampler.  I added some grass, clouds, trees, and sun - along with a scrap of patterned paper.

Toads vs. Frogs

Just in case you didn't already know, there really is a difference between a frog and a toad.  Google it and you'll see what I'm talking about.  I always sorta figured they were the same....or pretty similar anyway but they really are different.    Toads usually are found more on land instead of in water like frogs.  Also, toads have a squat-tier  body where frogs are skinnier.  Interesting - right?  In other words, way back when you were young and called your boyfriend a toad, you were probably right!  We all dated toads I'm sure - at least I can think of one I dated.  He didn't like to swim at all and really did have a squatty body.   He was definitely a toad - and probably still is!  Eek!

Anyway.....in case you're wondering - these little guys are frogs.  They're from Sunny Studio Designs and are much too precious to be called a toad.  It's a good set to create a scene and I think it'll be a cute birthday card.    All the images were colored, cut out, and then placed on the card after creating the 'water' and clouds with distress inks.  Of course I just had to add the heart and belly button art  (pearl) to mama and the bow tie to papa.  

.....And believe it or not, I'm going to enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  I finally feel like I'm creating a card with snippets on it!   It's been a long time since I've been there.  Too long!

Another Bookmark

If you've followed my blog for a while you'll remember about this same time last year I posted a picture of a bookmark that was sent to my daughter.  I believe it was number 76 on bookmarks.  She's a principal of one of the schools in Texas and she gives the children a bookmark when she notices them being kind to one another in the hallway, etc.   I made 50 more over the summer and sent them so she'd have them at the beginning of school.

Around Christmas said she was running low.....as in "out", so needed more.   I started another batch but really hadn't done too many.  After receiving this cute image from Gerda Steiner Designs for her progressive challenge, I decided to make it into a bookmark - and will be making several more like it to send on their way.   The sentiment is from Newton's Nook and then I added the tiny die cut heart.  I did a little masking and stenciling in the background with some distress ink.

I'll enter this in the monthly challenge at Gerda Steiner Designs.
