Remembering Brass Stencils

Does anyone remember the brass stencils from many moons ago - or better yet, does anyone still use them!  I'd forgotten all about them and the other day I was searching for something else and found a handful that someone had given me so long ago.  I may have used this one before but it's been a long time, so......

I used some distress inks on the stencil for the deer - added that panel to some Christmas patterned paper I had in my stash,  cut a circle piece of Vellum and used the same distress ink on it to give it a tint of the blue, and then added the snowflake and pearl.

I've been trying to use more of what I already have instead of buying new things - but it's so hard with all the pretty stamps, embossing folder, etc. to buy now......but ........ I find something like this brass stencil and remember it really can make a nice card too..

I'll enter this in challenge at Rudolph Days (anything Christmas).

Thanks for stopping by...........and keep smiling!

Yes I remember those brass stencils but I gave all of mine away some time ago. Good for you keeping yours - this card is just gorgeous! I love those papers and the single snowflake on the circle too! Great job on this Christmas beauty with those old stencils!

Oh wow this is really pretty Lynn! I'm in love with the papers you've used and the snowflake accent! The deer looks pretty in the blue! Bowing my head because YES...I still have some metal stencils lurking around, but sadly haven't used any for so long! I'm trying to use my old things, but badly buy new too! I figure if I can bring out a few old with the new..at least I'm doing that! LOL

Oh yes, I do indeed remember them Lynn! I only had one or two, but I think I still have them. I think one was a graduation one. Hasn't been used in forever though. Love that you found yours, this one is fabulous and sure made a gorgeous Christmas card! Loving your background paper and that snowflake die on the vellum, so pretty! Hugs, Brenda

What a beautiful stenciled deer, Lynn! He is so stately and a perfect match for the patterned paper and snowflake! I found a brass stencil in my stash last week. I need to put it to work.

Oh yes, I remember those - mine were all border ones, and I am not sure that I still have them - they may have gone to a local kindergarten when I moved/downsized.
Your card is absolutely gorgeous Lynn!

This card is so very pretty. I did have quite a few of those brass stencils. I just gave some away recently to a lady just starting out who did not have any supplies yet.
They sure were fun to use!

Thanks for taking part in the Rudolph Days Challenge.
