Way Out of the Box

I've always been those that will try anything at least once.....for the most part anyway.  Some of the things have been pretty wild - especially when I was younger - but that's a whole other story.

So, anyway,  when Brenda over at Friends Craftin' with Friends did her last post, I just had to try what she did....(nothing wild at all but very pretty - go over and take a look).  So, I watched the video by Lou Collins to kinda see what to do like Brenda did.

All I can say is holy moley!  This is so not me at all.  I gathered up whatever I thought I could use which wasn't much since I'm more of a CAS type person.......but I actually dug deep enough and found some things to use.  Now, don't ask what all it was but my desk was completely covered in "stuff".  I used some Oxides, embossing paste, stamps, die cuts, sentiments, and whatever.........

Do I like it...........um.......not sure.  I think it's something that would have to grow on me since it's not my usual style.  However, since I had all the "stuff" out I went ahead and actually made another card and will post it next week.  Something different anyway.

Thanks for stopping by.........and keep smiling!
Lynn

This looks great and so much detail and interest. It takes a little while to see everything. I don't do mixed media much but I do like this and it's good to get out of our comfort zone sometimes. Good for you to try this.

Wowzer! I absolutely LOVE it Lynn! I've not seen you do mixed media style, but this is really awesome on your first go around! Really love the texture and your oxide background looks incredible with this! This is really impressive, and I hope that you will be doing more of these! I hope you had fun with it! Thanks for the inspiration!

Well I give this one two thumbs up Lynn, you did a great job of mixed media on this card and it looks pretty doggoned awesome too! The background looks amazing with the different patterns, numbers and letters, and the bike is pretty cool too! I had a bunch of those shaped bits but donated them because I had no clue what to do with them! NJ Lynn! Now I can't wait to see the next one you made :)

I think that you should make more mixed media cards, as this one is FABULOUS!! Love so much all the textures and details! Surely has been a messy process and tidying up takes time :D but playing with paste etc is fun and your result looks great! Waiting to see your other creation!

A fabulous card, Lynn! I'm glad you took advantage of having all that stuff out and made another. Can't wait to see it! I love how that black bicycle die plays against all that texture and color in the background! Lots of interest but so well put together that it doesn't look overdone at all!

You did way, way better on this mixed media stuff than I did, as I knew you would! I LOVE how yours came out, the colors are much more vibrant than mine, love the stencils you used with your embossing paste, and I love your shapes! But that bike, oh my gosh, I am in love with that die! LOL I hope this grows on you because you are a natural at mixed media my friend! Now I can't wait to see your other one! Hugs, Brenda

Its good we all have different likes and styles otherwise the galleries would look very boring indeed. You might decide the style isn't for you but good to try anyway and quite often we do learn something that we can take into our own styles. Emmax

Wow, this is a great card. You did a wonderful job on it. I would not have guessed this wasn’t you, as you mentioned in your post.
