I'll try not to get too mushy here - but just wanted to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. You'll never, ever know how much your thoughts and prayers, comments, emails, and cards helped me get through each day for the last couple of weeks. It's been a very stressful time for us and I just feel like crying thinking of all of you that care so much about Jim and I.
Jim is doing pretty good - and we both know it could have been so much worse. He got out of the hospital and then went to what they called Skilled Nursing for therapy and rehab. Actually, their "skilled nursing" was a nursing home and what an experience that was! It really opens your eyes to aging and the future. I always try to make the best of things though and keep laughter in the world - so we did see a really good wheel chair fight as two of the residents were trying to get through the same doorway at the same time and were furious at each other - and a lot of flirting between 90 and 100 year old's! HA! This even managed to get a smile or two out of Jim. I was allowed to take Rambo up to visit and he became the hit of the home! We have so many adjustments to make in our life now and pretty much a completely different lifestyle. We'll make the best of whatever comes our way and just roll with the punches from now on.
I've missed everyone so much and have missed my time in the craft room too. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of things soon. You'll be seeing several cards in the next week or so that I made before life through us this curve ball. This first one is from Deedee's Digi's with one of her pre-colored images (that was suppose to be posted last month). Yes, I did another shaker card. A super sweet blogging friend sent me a Fuse tool and it makes completing a shaker card a breeze!
I'll be by to comment on your blog as much as I can. There are days that this just won't happen right now though due to other things. We're just taking one day at a time.
Thank you so much!
Lynn

Oh Lynn, how good to see you posting! Such a darling card - I still can't steel myself to tackle a shaker card given disasters many years ago :)
But most important is the news of Jim, and of course yourself. It's been a real roller coaster hasn't it - I expect you haven't known which way was up! Your philosophy of taking one day at a time is a good one, and time can be a great friend. Also take time for you both to 'smell the roses' as they say.
Sending much love and hugs to both you and Jim, I'm sure you know that all of us in the Playground have been keeping you in our thoughts.

I'm so glad that things are looking up for you and Jim! Prayers continue....
Love the card. I'm going to try a shaker card yet. Maybe I need to check that fuse tool? Hugs and smiles!
Lynn, you and Jim remain in my thoughts/prayers. Hang in there! You are well loved!
This shaker card is beautiful... and the fun of hearing the rattle will be the icing on the cake for whoever receives it.
It is so wonderful to see your post and know that Jim is doing better each day. Know that you both remain in my prayers as you work together toward his recovery. I know Rambo will be pitching in to do his part as well!
Your Christmas shaker card is a true delight! I love every fun detail!
What a darling card, so cheerful and of course shaker cards are just the best. So glad things weren't worse than they could have been and you are settling into your new way of life. Hugs to both you and Jim. Don't worry about commenting on blogs, I think I can speak for everyone that knows you, we all understand. It is nice to know that you will be getting back into the craft room soon. Crafting can be such a stress reducer. Have a great day.
Hi Lynn, so happy to hear that things are slowly improving for you. It will take time but love to you both. No worries about commenting, just to know you are doing okay at this time is enough. A fabulous card and just love this image.
Hugs as always

I was pleasantly surprised to see you posted a card today, because I can only imagine how hectic your life has become! It's great news to know Jim is showing improvement and feeling well enough to smile and laugh! The wheelchair fight sounded hilarious, but that's just how things are in nursing care. Laughter is the best medicine though! You'll have to show us in the future how this fuse tool works, because that's a really fun shaker card! It looks so much easier than the traditional way of creating one - something I tried once and said fuhgedaboudit! LOL Sending thoughts and prayers for continued healing and a life that's good for both you and Jim.
What a fabulous card Lynn - be assured that you are still in my prayers - this curve ball has changed EVERTHING, so take care of yourself as well as Jim. and craft as you can - it's a sanity saver!!
Blessings

So nice to see you posting again, Lynn. I have been thinking about you and Jim, and it sounds like things are starting to turn around after a very rough time. I will certainly continue to keep you both in my prayers.
Your Santa Daniel card is adorable. Looks like you are enjoying your new fuse tool - I love your shaker card!
I hope Jim will continue to improve each day. I believe in prayer and there is a lot of it directed your way!
OMGosh Lynn, this is such a darling shaker card! I have heard that the fuse is great for shaker cards, now I know I will have to get one sometime. One day I hope to get back to my crafty room. Yes, life can throw us curve balls can't it?!! I am glad that Jim is home and you both are plugging along. I can just see that wheel chair fight now and the flirting! lol My bestie has a care home and I've always said that is where I want to go if something happens to me and I can't stay home. Problem with that is that she is only 2 weeks younger than me. I have no clue who will take care of us when we need a home, but I know some of these homes I don't want to be left in. I think I will just die at home! lol Hang in there my friend, you and Jim will always be in my prayers. Hugs, Brenda
Love the card, Lynn! Darling image, too.
So glad to hear that things are settling down for Jim and that it's manageable. I'll keep you both in prayers.
Rambo must have been so happy to see Jim again! Of course, he would have been the hit of the nursing home. :-D
We're heading back from vacation travels and ended up much further away from home than originally intended so it's a long drive back. Decided it would be a good idea to stop for a good night's sleep and finish the rest of the trip tomorrow. So glad I checked messages before turning in for the night. Good news is so appreciated. Hugs and prayers.
How great to see that you have posted a card- and it is lovely as always! I have heard of a fuse tool. but have no clue what it is- but sounds awesome. I love your sweet image and the shaker. Glad you are back in your own home, and will pray the adjustment goes well and that Jim can get around OK. Its a big change in your life- so take care of you and holler if you think of anything you need : )
One day at a time is the only way to move forward and I'm so glad to hear that Jim is doing better :-) Before you know it, it will be Christmas so it's good to see you getting prepared with this lovely Christmas card! It's so cute and cheerful, and the shaker element is fabulous :-)
Big hugs, Kat xx
Lynn so glad to hear that Jim is home now!! Seems at our age life sure brings some changes that do take adjustments. I know for us it has taken some getting used to but we are learning to roll with the punches and I know you two will also. Will continue to keep you both in our prayers!! Love your fun card, makes me smile with the cute image!! Ive never made a shaker card, keep thinking I need to dive in and give it a try :) Take care!!
oh ♥YAY♥ i'm so glad you-- & JIM!-- are back in action, even if the new "normal" is not quite the same as the old one, yet. a lot of adjustments to be made, i have no doubt; but i think the fact that the 2 of you have laughed & "made the best" of every situation you've encountered in the last 3 or 4 decades will be the best ammo anyone can have for whatever comes in life! lots of ♥♥♥♥♥'s & smiles to you both & continued healing+adjustment vibes!!! (yes that is too a real medical "thing" you can look it up, lol!)
I love your sweet shaker card! It is just adorable! It is very scary when you see how the Nursing Homes are! My Mom had a stroke many years ago and I couldn't believe how the care was there. When my husband had his hip surgery and he need PT they wanted to send him to a Nursing Home and I argued with the doctors that he was way too young (he was in his ealry 50's) to be in a place like that and that he needed a rehab center where they had real therapists and a real gym! I think of you often and what you are dealing with, you are very lucky to have your sense of humor over wheelchair fights and the naughty 90 year olds! Hang in there!!
Hugs,
Lori
Lynn, such a wonderful post to read, you really are a super person, so full of happiness and hope, I'm sure things will carry on improving for you and Jim, your whole attitude towards your troubles has been inspirational, so keep on smiling my friend, my thoughts are with you.
Sending extra hugs, Jacee

I am sooo glad Jim is recovering, Lynn....what a blessing!!! Your story about the wheel chair fight cracked me up!!! I'm glad the residents were able provide a little intertainment to boost Jim's spirits!!! I will continue to hold you and Jim in my prayers and will send lots of {{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}!!! Your Christmas card is adorable with that cute image and the fun shaker...I haven't even thought about Christmas yet let alone make a card. I needed your inspiration to get me motivated!!!
Changes are never fun, when they are not your idea. I am so glad you and Jim can try and settle into some type of normalcy. I know I am far from you, but please let me know if there is anything I can do, even if it's to get answers to questions. Remember I have a kid who deals with this stuff everyday. I do love your welcome back card, and we will be very patient as you get back to card making. Christmas, huh?
Gorgeous, adorable card.
Morning Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about Jim, I am keeping him in my thoughts. Your card is just darling, I think shaker cards sure cheer people up.

I'm so glad that things are starting to get better. I hope and pray that each day Jim shows more and more improvement. Love your shaker card and using a Fuse does make it so much easier. Still sending lots of hugs and prayers.
I thought I would stop in to see if by chance you were posting again and I'm so pleased to see that you are. Your heartfelt words of thanks had me in tears, too, Lynn. We do all love you very much and we're so pleased that Jim is recovering. Your humorous recounting of the nursing home "activities" dried my tears in no time! It is that "one day at a time" logic and good old sense of humor that will see you through this. And, wow, what a fun Christmas shaker card you made! Can you believe I have one of those Fuse dealiebobs and I've not opened it yet?! You have inspired me! Do take care of yourself, too, my friend. I am keeping you both in my hearts and prayers. Well, in my one heart. If I had two of them, I would keep you in both! Hugs, Darnell

(I know what you mean in regard to nursing homes...I visited my Step-Mother in one for over 9 years. Not always a pleasant place!
Hope your weekend is relaxing and brings you and Jim much Joy!

This shaker card is cute and I love the duck.
