Happy Halloween - ie....................

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - ie

This is my Halloween Card for this year! When I saw this little stamp (part of a set from Chicken Girl Design), I just knew I had to have it. Isn't he precious!!!!!

On the inside - and I just could not resist - I put Happy Halloweenie! As my daughter and son would say - that's pretty cheesy. However, I thought it was kinda cute.

I colored the little doxie with PrismaPencils and used the gamsol magic technique to color it. The candy corn paper is from Karen Foster - and was given to me by my very dear friend that actually got me started in cardmaking, Kristin Friesenhahn. The "buttons" are brads from Paper Studio. They were a little too big, so on some of the cards I sent I just used regular buttons. All of the paper is from Stampin Up.

This was a fun card to make.

Halloween Treats!

These are just a couple of little Halloween treats that I'll be taking to my two grand-daughters on Thursday. Nothing fancy here...............The box with the Smarties in it is actually a gift card holder from Barnes and Noble. I took it apart and used it for a template. It really makes a cute sized box. The image is Chicken Girl Design Happy Halloween from I {heart} Papers. The Hershey bar has an image of a bat from the Close to My Heart Happy Haunting set. As I said, nothing fancy, but I think they will enjoy them - at least the candy!

Thanks for stopping by.

And The WINNER Is...............................

The only time I've ever "won big" was when I was about 10 years old and I won a Turkey Shooting contest (hey, don't laugh - I was competing against grown men). The sad part of it was when my dad went to pick up the turkey, it was a LIVE ONE! Needless to say he did not bring it home. I never knew what happened to the turkey - probably ended up for Thanksgiving dinner somewhere.

Again, I have won something - but this is SO MUCH better than a turkey! Last week I {heart} Papers held a Birthday Bash challenge. My entire week was spent trying to come up with good ideas for cards and projects and then, of course, creating them. I also needed to post them on SCS, PCP, and my blog with a link to I {heart} Papers. The only problem with that was that I didn't have a blog! So, yesterday, I sat down and created my own blog! Since I'm not a "computer savvy" person, this was an experience you don't want me to go into.

It all paid off - Today the winners were announced (drum roll please) and I won the 2nd Grand Prize - in addition to a box of "goodies" I'll be a Guest Designer for the month of November for I {heart} Papers. Is that not just the best or what!!!

My thanks to everyone for their wonderful comments on my cards and projects. It was a fun week.

I will be posting some Halloween goodies tomorrow, so stay tuned......

Yummy for your Tummy

I actually got hungry making this card for the birthday bash at I {heart} Papers on the 5th day of the challenge. It was fun to make - just wish they had been real so I could have eaten one!

I popped up the tops of the cupcakes ( in the photo they look "off-center" but they actually aren't) and used Stickles on them. Yummy, Yummy........

Inside and Out......

For the second day of the I {heart} Papers birthday bash, we had to create a card with a non -traditional fold. This was somewhat difficult for me for some unknown reason. Everytime I would come up with an idea I wanted to do, I changed my mind. I think it ended up just "ok".

I stamped the party hats on a band and placed it around the card to keep it together. The balloons kinda "peeked" through the top. When you take the band off and open it, you get a whole "bunch" of balloons.

The bow on the inside was purchased from I {heart} Papers.

Flowers for your Birthday

For the I {heart} Papers Birthday Bash on the very first day, we were to create a card using the colors in the I {heart} Papers blog.......Rose, Celery, Blue and Black. My choice was this Hero Arts stamp of a basket full of flowers. The ribbon was made using the Bow-Easy that I purchased from I {heart} Papers. It was such a fun week and I {heart} Papers is such a great company.

Birthday Bling

This card was created for the I {heart} Papers Birthday Bash - day 3. We were to use some type of bling/ribbon on the card. Although this is a simple card, it kinda says it all........Happy Birthday. It was stamped with Close to My Heart Gracious Greetings stamp. The bow was made using the Bow-Easy purchased from I {heart} Papers.

Get a LONG little doggie.......

This is also a card I created for the I {heart} Papers Birthday Bash. It is actually a Halloween Stamp from Chicken Girl Designs (Happy Halloween). The little doxie originally had a witch hat on. I took that off and added a birthday hat and then stamped a balloon from his tail. I stamped the balloon and then stamped another one, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensionals. Added a little glitter to the balloon and hat and - there you go! The bow was tied with the help of the Bow-Easy. Both the Bow-Easy and Chicken Girl Design stamp were purchased from I {heart} Papers. Doxie was colored with Prismacolor pencils. The paper is from SU.

The Beginning..................

Well, I finally took the plunge - and created a Blog......I hope you enjoy some of the things I will be showing you. I'm going to ATTEMPT to post at least several times a week. We'll see how that goes though.
Enjoy!
The first project I'm showing you is a gift bag and card that I created for the I {heart} Papers Birthday Bash. I used SU Baja Breeze cardstock, Parisian Breeze DP. and Baja Breeze ribbon. The stamp sets used are Eastern Blooms and Oval All from SU.
