Toadily Toady

It's Friday!!!  Everyone can put on their happy face now and jump for joy!

A short note here ---- I've found as I get older that my mind says I can do something, however, the body just does not cooperate in any way shape or form - Like skydiving.........Sure, I CAN DO THAT!!!  Only as long as they had the ambulance on the ground waiting for the body to hit!!!
Well, for some reason, I feel that my card making is running into the same problem - I see all these fantastic cards in blog land (CAS and fancy) and think I CAN DO THAT......and then when I get back to my little hole in the wall, not the body but the mind totally shuts down.  I sit there staring at the wall, oohing over all the great craft supplies.....and get nothing!  I end up making something that I hate even though I'm sure it looks just fine...............SO, I'm taking a few days off here - no computer, no crafting......zilch!!!!  I'm not ignoring you by not stopping by your blog but just need to take several days.  I'll be back with all my usual bull before you know it.

Thanks for stopping by........

Going Forward

I have a couple of graduation cards to post today.  I almost just hit the Dollar Store and bought some instead of making them (GASP!!!).  I'm not overloaded in graduation type stamps and had no idea what to do - but, came up with these two (one for a girl and one for a guy) and they'll just have to do.  I figure they're just going to be looking at the money on the inside and not much anything else anyway!!!

My first card is for a guy - pretty CAS and not a lot to brag about.  The grad cap was made following a tutorial video (Stamperdog - You Tube) I saw on Pinterest.  You just gotta love that site!  I'm one of these that "pin" all the wonderful stuff I see - and then don't do anything with it!   This time I did though and it made a cute little cap.

This second card is for a girl.  Kelly, over at Sandcastle Stamper, was nice enough to send me several images she stamped out and then I just colored the Kraftin' Kimmie stamp up and placed in on the card.  Thanks again Kelly!  I didn't even realize it until after finishing the card, but this little gal is sorta leaning forward (hence the title of this post Going Forward).  I figure she's just leaning to get ahead in her future! LOL!  I've never cut anything straight in my life, so why start now!

I'll Be Dog Gone

Thought I'd show you a fun card I made over the weekend.  This is going to be from Rambo to Jim for Father's Day.  I tried to get a tiny little heart on here somewhere but no matter where I put it, it just didn't look right.....so I added one to the inside with a "Happy Father's Day" message.

I felt like giving our precious little Rambo away yesterday.  The title of this post pretty well explains the reason.  Someone (not naming names but Jim is the only other person living here) left one of the gates to the backyard partially open and off to play Rambo went!  He'd been gone at least 30 minutes when I finally realized he wasn't around anywhere.  So, off we went searching.  Now this is not fun right now since it's not only hot but we have a humidity rating of about 95!!!!  I finally found the little s--- about a half mile from the house with his tongue hanging out and unable to move he was so exhausted!  My tongue was hanging out too by the time I got him home!

I used several stamps from Critters in the Dog Park set from Lawn Fawn along with one of matching dies.
I'll enter this in the challenge at CAS(e) this Sketch .

Thanks for stopping by.................and hope everyone has a great day!

Anniversary Photo

Well, the hubs and I have an anniversary coming up in a few days so thought I'd make him a card....just a photo of the happy couple!  Actually, this looks nothing like us (I don't do poofy attire at all) but thought you'd enjoy our "anniversary conversation" anyway:

Jim: So, what do you want for our anniversary?
Lynn:  Um....how about a Corvette!  I'd look pretty hot in one of those.
Jim:  Come on now, I'm serious - besides that, you're lucky to get your drivers license renewed every year!!!
Lynn:  Ok, we'll go with the diamond ring!!!!!  Yea!
Jim:  Now what in the world do you want with something like that - our social life just consists of going to the doctors office!
Lynn:  O-K!  Let's go dancing!
Jim:  I'd probably trip over my walker.
Lynn:  Alright - we're down to going out to eat I guess.
Jim:  YES!!!  I LOVE Whataburger  - they have the very best fries - so we'll just go there!!!

Ah, married life!!!  Just a little humor to take you into the weekend (however, we really did have this conversation! Yikes)!  Anyway.......I used part of an Art Impressions stamp and the Instant Camera die from Lil Inker.  The DP is from CTMH and I added tiny pearls for the buttons on her dress and his shirt pockets.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Simon Says Stamps Challenge (Take a Picture).

Thanks for stopping by............and keep smiling!

No Woof, Just a Wolf

I thought maybe y'all were getting tired of all the dog cards, so decided to thrown in a wolf instead!  The image and sentiment are from In Wilderness, SU, and I embossed the white background with the wood grain folder.

This is for the sketch challenge at I {heart} Sketches - and yes, I do {heart} this sketch!  I already know I'll be using it again and again.  I'll also enter it in the challenge at Try it on Tuesday (On The Wild Side).

Dapper Dog

I already know my blog has "gone to the dogs", but here's another dog stamp!  Groan!  What's really bad is that my new goodies included not only this stamp set but also another one with dogs!  Double groan, right!  This is from a stamp set that I recently got from Simon Says Stamp and it really is a cutie.  The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps and I used some paper from Linen Closet paper pack by DCWV.

This card was given to my husband yesterday "just because".  I've never in my life ever known Jim to wear anything but Wrangler jeans, boots, etc.  It's been so hot here the last couple of years I finally convinced him to at least get one pair of shorts.  Well, he bought a pair but won't wear them any where out in public AT ALL!  That's probably a good thing though because he'd been wearing the shorts (plaid) with a striped shirt!!!!  To top it off, he'd put on his tennis shoes (which is amazing) and then grab a pair of white socks that go all the way up to his knees almost!!! LOL!!  The other day I again convinced him to get a pair of sandals......now this is REALLY different for him.  He's almost getting used to the sandals, but again pairs them with those white socks!  Thank GOODNESS he doesn't go out in public this way! LOL!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Less is More (theme - dogs or cats), Pinspiration Challenges (inspiration photo), and Kaboodles Doodles (stripes or circles).

Slacking Off

I've really been a slacker here lately!!!  It was just such a busy week around here and I haven't even gotten back to the craft area at all.  I MUST do that this weekend though - because I got new goodies!  Yea!!!  Now I just have to make the time to play with them.

You're seeing another butterfly card I made last week using the IO die and Frost ink.  I went with the orange and browns this time which indicates it's a September type butterfly card.   Take note of the DP I used.........it was so pretty and all I had was this one little piece so decided to use it up.  Great, fine, wonderful......got the whole card finished, looking good, no real horrible blobs on it........and then realized the DP is upside down!!!!!!!!!  Such is life!

We're not seeing any butterflies around here.  Spring came and went in a matter of about 3 days I think.  Now it's just HOT (got up to 101 degrees today) and dry!  I feel like I'm living in the freaking desert!  This is Texas weather for you.  It's ok if I complain about it though because when it does start raining again (if I'm still alive) I can complain about too much water!

I'll enter this is the challenge at Sketch Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by.........and have a great weekend

REALLY Different!

About the only thing you can say about this card is that's it's REALLY DIFFERENT!!!  This is so not me at all!

In a recent card class they made one of these kaleidoscope flower thingy-s using a leaf stamp and I figured hey, I can do that!!!  Yeah, right!  First of all I didn't have a leaf stamp to do it with....okey dokey......so I made my own out of some left over rubber from a SU set that I'd never mounted.  I was scooting along pretty good and then wanted to add the sentiment on vellum........I had little sentiments and big sentiments - but none the right size that would go across the flower thingy.  I ended up stamping what I had on the vellum and putting it at an angle since it just wouldn't fit any where else.  Ok.......we're down to the button now. First I put a brad in it and that just looked pinchy, so I decided to add a button.  No way did I have a button to match that blue - or green....so, added a red one. This card really turned into a big ordeal.........so much for CASimple!!!

Anyway, here it is........and thanks for stopping by.............

Big Hug, Little Dog

I had some scraps left on my desk from the last card so put this together to use all of them up - plus the colors fit The Alley Way Stamps inspiration challenge (gotta love it when something like that happens)!   Quick card and an easy mailer - which I love!!  This will be going to one of the granddaughters as a "just because" card.  Please note that I DID do some stitching on this - AND it was in a semi straight line!  YEAH!!!  You can't really see it real well, but I didn't want to stitch it in a darker thread in case it didn't come out straight.  Gotta think ahead of stuff like that you know.

I used a couple of stamps from The Alley Way Stamps- The Gang for the dog and paws and Jibber Jabber for the sentiment.  The DP is some from SU.

I'll enter this in the challenge at The Alley Way Stamps (inspiration photo), and Sweet Stampin' (Clean and Simple).

Mother's Day Roses

I got out my Simon Says Stamp May card kit and started playing around again with all the goodies.  Since all the papers, stamps, etc. are in the kit already, it seemed to come together pretty easy.  I lightly stamped a few tiny hearts on the side panel, colored the roses with Copics, and then cut them out and mounted them on an oval and lacy oval nestie.  The sentiment cut out was also in the kit. I think this will be a perfect card for Mother's Day and will be sending it to my daughter (even though it's going to get there a day late).

I'll enter this in the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown (My Mother, My Friend)

If you celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, hope you have a wonderful day!

WooHoo

Just flying by today with an owl card!  I recently got a new die from Lil Inker (after Maria sent me a cute card using this Instant Camera die) and had to do something with it quick because it's too cute not to want to do something with it!  It looks exactly like the old Polaroid frames we took  using that camera so many years ago!   I used Chocolate Chip for the frame instead of black though so it would match the owl better.   I sponged the sky in and cut out the Paper Smooches owl.......he really needed a perch of some kind and I couldn't come up with a good stamp or die piece - so walked outside and got a real stick for him to rest on.

I used a sketch from Retro Sketches ( just flipped it) and I'll enter this in their challenge.  I'll also enter it in the Simon Says Stamps Challenge (Things with Wings).

Thanks for stopping by..................(Have y'all noticed how I'm behaving myself this week!!!  I'm not sure how long it'll last but am pretty proud of myself so far!)

Flight

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win some fan-tas-tic blog candy from Ellen's blog, The Serendipitous Stamper.  If you've never seen her blog, scoot over there now and be prepared to be WOWED!!!  All of her creations are just breath taking beautiful!

Anyway, back to the goodies I won - a butterfly die from Impression Obsession (that I'd really been wanting) and some All Purpose Frost White Ink from Tsukineko.  That Frost White ink shines, shines, and shines some more.....so beautiful.  Ellen also had a tutorial on her blog using the ink and the die - so, what's a gal to do other than try and CASE her card - not really, but I did have a banner type thing on mine!  There's no way I could ever match the beauty of hers, but I've given it a shot anyway.  Y'all know that my idea of a new technique is probably just getting a new embossing folder and sticking it in the Cuddlebug.........but..........here goes........

I cut the solid die in Very Vanilla and the detail one in black...sponged some Brilliant Blue, then CTMH Bamboo, and lastly Orchid Opulence on the solid piece.  I added the Frost White ink and watched it shine!!  I wish you could see it in the photo.   I then layered the black detail part over that.  I embossed the white panel and actually scored down the sides of that blue banner - but it doesn't show up on here.

Not a Bunch of Bull

Happy Friday to everyone!

I had a little time this week and decided it was high time I came up with a fun card.   Now I'm really not hung up on cows or pigs or anything  (although it's starting to look that way)  but there really are some cute cows out there.

When I was growing up we had a few cows and I fell head over heels in love with one of the little ones..... named him Harold!   I have no idea how I came up with that name and for all I know it may have been a female type cow!    He was such a cutie though and I always looked forward to seeing him in the pasture ---- and then my dad had him butchered!   That pretty much ended my love affair with cows and I'm probably still suffering the after effects of that one!    Anyway, this is not Harold and it's pretty plain to see she didn't take advantage of that 10 percent off neutering special!

The image is from QKR and they have such cute stamps.  One thing I really like about doing a cow card is that you don't have to do a lot of coloring on it......hence, another Holstein cow for you.  Easy!!!

Enough bull for one day..............

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great weekend......and remember to keep smiling!
