Old White-y

The last truck Jim had was red but with red apples and a red truck it all started looking the same.  So, I went back a few more years and thought I'd do his white truck - White-y (not a very original name for sure)!    White-y probably had 200,000 miles on it when it finally bit the dust but to be honest, I think he kept setting the mileage back in case he ever decided to trade it!  White-y LOOKED like it had about 200,000 miles on it too!  Maybe even more.  It saw a lot in it's lifetime.  (Oh, and yes, we always named our vehicles - doesn't everyone)!

This is a very old Stamping Up stamp.   I used watercolors and colored the apples, basket, grass, etc.(can you even see the apples!!!!!!) and  kept the truck itself an off gray/white.  The sentiment is from Simon Says stamp.

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.

Family Photos

This will be Rambo's card to Jim for Father's Day coming up next month.  Rambo thinks pretty highly of himself and can't think of a better gift to give him.

This card is really nothing more than bits and pieces I had sitting on top of my desk before cleaning it up.  That's a piece of a Lawn Fawn window die - and no idea why I cut this part off other than I probably had some brilliant idea that didn't work.  It's on Kraft paper - that doesn't look like Kraft at all in the photo.  Looks too gray or something......Of course that could be because of the light reflecting off my hair too.

The profile in the bottom window shows off his beauty in case everyone wants to ooh and ahh over him  -  and he really DOES expect everyone to ooh and ahh.    The top window shows how sweet he can be - at times.......... and then of course you have the fun image poking out from behind the frame showing his humorous side.

Lots of snippets on here so I'll enter this in the challenge (326) at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Thanks for stopping by..............and remember to Smile!

A Bow and Arrow for Father's Day

Father's Day will be this weekend so I figured I'd better get a card made for Jim.  He hasn't been deer hunting in a long, long time but think he will still enjoy looking at this beauty from Newton's Nook.

I stamped the image in brown Versafine ink and then heat embossed in clear on a piece of textured vanilla card stock.  Used a die from MFT to frame him with and then mounted that on some very old (but pretty) CTMH patterned paper.  Added the twine and the then the arrow embellishment under the bow.  Very clean and simple.

Thanks for stopping by......and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

Lynn's Animal Farm

I know that today is Mother's Day here in the U.S. but thought I'd show you the card that Rambo will be giving Jim for Father's Day next month.  Jill, over at Ribbon Challenge recently had posted a card using this adorable little doxie template.  She always makes the most beautiful cards and after seeing hers,  I made the comment that I'd love to know where she got that doxie.  The next day Jill sent me a copy of the template!  Then her husband Jim, who also has a wonderful blog called Love the Details, sent it again in a different format!  Double the fun!!  Thank y'all again so very much!

It's a super simple card and not even half as cute as Jill's, but Rambo will be giving it to Jim next month for Father's Day.  Jim's favorite color is yellow so that's why you see all that yellow on here!  Pretty bright but know he'll like it.

And speaking of Rambo and animals in general................Meet Rambo............(even though I may have posted this picture before)

I did say animal (S) - so you also get to see a picture of Sassy - our worthless cat!  I call her that because if a mouse ran out in front of her she'd just yawn and go back to sleep.  She really is a sweet cat - but yep, worthless!  LOL!  This is probably the height of laziness!

Tie One On

For some reason the colors in this are almost blinding!!!  Combine that with all the dots and you may feel yourself getting a little dizzy!  The blues came out really blue, the yellow looks like a bottle of mustard, and the red resembles the measles!  BUT, not to worry because isn't that the cutest little bear ever!!!  Love his chubby tummy.

This is the featured image over at Deedee's Digis for the progressive challenge!  If you didn't play along last month and receive this image free, you can go to the store now and get it for $1.25.  You not only get the image in the line drawing but also the colored version (which I've used here) and a whole bunch of cute sentiments.  Use it on a project before the end of the month and next month you'll receive another digi absolutely free of charge!  Come on over and play along each month because we'd love to see your creations.  Deedee has some of the cutest digis around so take a look around the shop too!

Papers used were SU patterned paper, Pacific Point, and Daffodil Delight.  I went over the little bag and some of the dots in the patterned paper with the Wink of Stella pen just to give it a bit of a shine.  Not much else to say except it makes into a great Father's Day card.

Thanks for stopping by..........

Triple Dose of Doxies

How about a triple dose of doxies to brighten everyone's week!

VERY simple cards (but hey, it's a super busy week around here and won't get any better until Wednesday of NEXT week!).  The die for the doxies (rhymes!) is from Memory Box and I used a couple of snippets of DP from wherever....just sitting on my craft table ready to go in the trash!  The sentiments on both cards are from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I added a bit of twine and they were done.  The second card was actually mailed to a blogging buddy (Maria) in April.

I'll enter the first card in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop - using snippets.  I just recently discovered this challenge and think it's going to be so much fun.

Ok, so you're wondering where I came up with TRIPLE in the title of the post......Here goes doxie number three...............

Yep, poor little Rambo!  On Saturday evening, Jim and I noticed that Rambo was limping a little ever so often and just didn't want to play at all.  On Sunday all he wanted to do was sleep - not play or eat much or anything.  Now, this is NOT Rambo at all - I mean he's basically four legs in motion all the time!  We kept looking at his foot and couldn't see a single thing wrong with it and finally figured he either stepped on something and bruised it or some type of bug bit him outside.  Monday rolls around and he's not any better at all so we loaded him up in the car to visit the vet........Nothing serious at all except that one of his toenails had pulled away slightly from the foot.  They did their thing to get it all better and wrapped his foot (to match the tag - LOL)!!  Everything seems almost normal with him again and he's back to four legs in motion and going strong!

I'll Be Dog Gone

Thought I'd show you a fun card I made over the weekend.  This is going to be from Rambo to Jim for Father's Day.  I tried to get a tiny little heart on here somewhere but no matter where I put it, it just didn't look right.....so I added one to the inside with a "Happy Father's Day" message.

I felt like giving our precious little Rambo away yesterday.  The title of this post pretty well explains the reason.  Someone (not naming names but Jim is the only other person living here) left one of the gates to the backyard partially open and off to play Rambo went!  He'd been gone at least 30 minutes when I finally realized he wasn't around anywhere.  So, off we went searching.  Now this is not fun right now since it's not only hot but we have a humidity rating of about 95!!!!  I finally found the little s--- about a half mile from the house with his tongue hanging out and unable to move he was so exhausted!  My tongue was hanging out too by the time I got him home!

I used several stamps from Critters in the Dog Park set from Lawn Fawn along with one of matching dies.
I'll enter this in the challenge at CAS(e) this Sketch .

Thanks for stopping by.................and hope everyone has a great day!

Dear Old Dad

To all the dads out there - Happy Father's Day!

This is Norm (Art Impression Stamps) and he's going to be taking it easy and just relaxing on Father's Day.  I added the palm tree on this to kinda shade him from all those harmful sunshine rays - however, he looks a little like he's at the age where he could really care less!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Art Impressions Stamps (Husband/Father), Cards for Men (Father's Day) and C.R.A.F.T. (Father's Day).

Very short post here - but did want to tell all the dads out there to have a great Father's Day and hope you have a wonderful day.

Thanks for stopping by.........and remember to KEEP SMILING!

Creative Belli Challenge 138

We've got another Creative Belli Challenge for you beginning today!  It's a Sketch challenge this time so come on over and join in on the fun!    Remember, we'd like for you to use your old and forgotten embellishments on your project.   Who knows, you may be selected as our next Guest Designer!  Head on over to the Belli blog and play along.  We'd love to have you.

I used three different SU images for my card:  Countryside, Teeny Tiny Wishes, and the Sanded Background stamp.  With the Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, and Very Vanilla I thought it would make a great card for Father's Day.  The DP is from My Minds Eye and I also added several buttons threaded with embroidery floss that I had in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.........and don't forget to enter the Creative Belli Challenge.

Father's Day

Well, here we are at another Friday - and no "funny Friday" again!  What's going on with me anyway!  Actually, I just wanted to make a card for all the dads/fathers out there and say "hope you have a great day on Sunday".

The image is from In Wilderness (SU) and I stamped it over the Sanded background stamp on Very Vanilla.  The sentiment is also SU from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  I also used some Baker's twine and a brass/pewter looking button I had in my stash.  The card base is out of Kraft.  Very CAS - but I like it.

And, of course, it'll fit into several different challenges that are honoring our fathers/dads this week..........like Party Time Tuesday and Paper Take Weekly

Thanks for stopping by..........

Another Father's Day Card

This is another Father's Day Card I made - a very CAS card! I used the Mint Motif (Very Square) stamp set (check this set out over at i {heart} papers) and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. As I said it is VERY clean and simple. I simply stamped the squares and then cut them out. The square in Wild Wasabi and the Baja Breeze one were stitched (zig-zag) around the edges. The Tangerine Tango square was "popped" up with dimensionals. I had originally stamped the sentiment directly on the card - but then after sewing I noticed that there was some type of smudge right over the sentiment! UGH! Don't you just hate it when something like that happens!! So anyway, I just stamped it again on white CS, matted it in the Tangerine Tango, and put it over the original sentiment.

This is, again, for the CAS-tastic Wednesday challenge and also for the CAS challenge at Ink Spots and Gum Drops blog.
For both of these the theme was Father's Day.

Thanks so much for all the happy comments on the previous post (Rambo). He was VERY excited since so many thought him to be so handsome! LOL.

Also - an update on the green beans I've been canning..........I finally quit canning at 62 jars!! Enough is enough already. We had a "pick and pull" ( that is when you stand there, pull up the plant, pick the beans off it, and throw the plants in a pile) and we are now officially out of the bean business! YES! The tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, pepper, and okra haven't hit yet - but they will.............

Happy Father's Day

I think a long time ago it was probably standard to give dad a tie for his birthday, Father's Day, Christmas, or whatever........Don't know if that's so true any more. Now they are probably getting the latest technical gadget!!

I CASEd this from an old Card Creations book. Thought they were cute and so appropriate for Father's Day.

This is for the CAS-tastic Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by ..................and I hope all the Dad's out there have a wonderful day tomorrow.

In Real Life

Do you ever make one of those cards that you get through with and think it's just WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC, and GORGEOUS??? I mean, you get everything just RIGHT with this card - it's centered right, no smudges, and is just perfect in every way! And then you spend 20 or 30 minutes getting "just the right picture" of it.....then look at that picture and go UGH!!!!! So you go back and spend another 20 or 30 minutes re-taking the picture of that wonderful card - and when you look at it, it still looks AWFUL!!! Well..........this is one of those cards. It really looks SO MUCH better in real life.

This is for a new CAS challenge (in fact this is their FIRST challenge) - it's called CAS-tastic.
"Anything goes" for this one and I wanted to do a Father's Day card that is coming up soon - hence, this card. I used the Noble Deer image from SU and it was stamped in Close to Cocoa. The paper I used was Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and was "framed" using the Word Window and the Modern Label punches. I did some sponging around the image and then "popped" it up on dimensionals. This was very quick and easy and REALLY does look better in real life!!!

Thanks for stopping by...................
