Early V Day

Happy early Valentine's Day to everyone.  Hope you have a great Valentine's - not only that day, but every other day too of course!

Here's a super CAS Valentine using a couple of dies and one sentiment.  The frame die is from Lawn Fawn and the heart die is (maybe) from Simon Says Stamp.  Sentiment from Hero Arts.  Not sure where my mind was going with this but I used some wood-grained cardstock for some of the card.  Gives it a different look anyway.  I thought about putting a big  rhinestone in the center of the heart or something, but nah......just leaving it as is.

I'm going to be away from my computer for a few days but will be back soon and check out everyone's blog.

Thanks for stopping by........and keep smiling!

Happy V Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  This is the last of the litter on the Valentine's for this year.  Hope you have a beautiful day.

Another short post but I used a die from Sugar Pea for the hearts (cut in half) and then I'm thinking it was either a Sugar Pea or Simon Says stamp love die.  This is done on a linen type card stock.  Quick, easy, but gets the "love" job done I think.

I'll enter this at Cute Card Thursday (CAS) and Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Thanks for stopping by..........and have a great weekend.

Alcohol Ink Valentine

Super duper CAS Valentine for a guy today.  I used a scrap of paper where I was piddling around with some alcohol inks.  Added the Sugar Pea design Valentine die and then a part of a Taylored Expressions strip sentiment saying I Adore You.  Card stock was some linen type paper.

How was that for a very short post today!

I'll enter this in The Male Room challenge (masculine love you card) and Clean and Simple on Friday (love)

1st Valentine

This is the 1st Valentine of the year.  Like I said in my last post......the further I go, the behind-er I get.  I really don't send out but a few Valentines each year though - like to the grands - so I'm sure I'll have them done before Valentine's Day.    I like making them though so maybe next year I'll plan on sending out more.

The raccoon image is from Hero Arts and the heart die from Sugar Peas design.  I attempted to do some graduating pink/red colors for the background.  Anyway, it's a done deal and I'll be posting a couple more Valentines next week since I probably need to get them in the mail pretty quick now.

Thanks for stopping by...........

Getting RItzy - Jan's Digi Shop

Moving right along into January, it's going to be time for Valentine's pretty soon.  It's also time for Jan's Digi Shop Challenge.  I used one of the images from this cute set called Puttin on the Ritz.  Isn't this little guy a cutie?  There's more cute stamps in the set too.  Check it out HERE!

I printed out my penguin and then cut him out after coloring with Copics.  I used a framing die from My Favorite Things and some pine tree images from Impression Obsession.  The sentiment is also from the set of Jan's stamps.  To create the background I just used some distressed inks for the background and then splattered some gesso for snow.  I was pretty proud of myself on the splatters too.....first time I had actual splatters and not streaks of white stuff all across the card!!  I amazed myself!

Come on over and enter our challenge - it's an Anything Goes challenge and a lot of fun!

Cupid Cat Defending his Depends

Today's the big day and Cupid Cat is out and about attempting to defend his Depends.  Doesn't look like he did a very good job of it though - or maybe he just shot himself with that arrow.  As long as the arrow didn't poke a hole in the Depends all will be good though.

Some people would say Cupid Cat is all decked out here in his bloomers, undies, Jockey's or whatever but as you get older you see things like this and figure they just have to be Depends!

This is an image from C.C. Designs.  Don't you love the expression on his face!  My funny Valentine that I'll enter in the challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.

Thanks for stopping by.........and hope everyone has a nice Valentine's Day.

Froggy Valentine

Using another one of the panels I created with the alcohol inks.  This one reminded me of lily pads so what better to put on that other than a frog from Penny Black of course.

Are we getting tired of Valentine's Day cards yet?!  Only a couple more days so all will be good once again.

Thanks for stopping by...........

Still Summer

Since we still appear to be smack dab in the middle of summer around here I thought it only appropriate to post a summery type card using my anchor die and set from Paper Smooches.  It's very similar to one I recently did, but hey.....sometimes the old brain just gets clogged up with too much stuff and you have to go with what you can.   That twine stuff is something I picked up at Walmart thinking it'd be just "the thing" to add to a nautical card.  Turns out though it's so stiff you can't really do much with it......will have to put on my thinking cap a bit more on that stuff I guess.

I may be (and then maybe not be) missing in action for a couple of days around here.  If you don't see me lurking around you'll know I haven't gone far though and will return.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets - silver anchor, twine, and tiny heart).

Thanks for stopping by.......

Mice in Love

I've been wanting to play along in the House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge for so long but due to having a very limited supply of House Mouse images I hadn't been able to do so.  The challenge this go round is themed Double Trouble - to use at least two meeces (or friends)......so YEAH I have a stamp I can use!

I was going to punch out the little hearts and put different DP behind them, but lining those things up correctly and then punching them is just beyond me, so I just punched them out of gingham and added them to the front.  I did a little stitching on here and made the frame with a couple of SU punches.  The image, Tails of Love, was colored with Prisma pencils.  I used some Pretty in Pink card stock and Paper Studio DP.

I'll enter this in the challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge (Double Trouble).

What Was I Thinking!!

I'm back with another Shopping Our Stash challenge - and our theme this week is titled:  WHAT WAS I THINKING!  We're talking about one of those things (stamp, embellishment, die, whatever) that you just HAD to have - but it was SO not you - and you got it anyway!  I just imagine we all have things in our stash like this!  I know I do.  Find that item in your stash and then enter our challenge!!  Be sure and check out our blog and see all the wonderful creations by the DT - and what was "so not them"!

When I saw the Doily Die in the SU catalog last year, I thought to myself....I don't need that!  However, after seeing so many beautiful cards with this die, I just HAD to have it!  What was I thinking!!!!!

I know I spent at least three hours trying to get this baby cut out!  I have a Cuddlebug and I used every kind of sandwich known to mankind.  After "googling" it and looking up about ten different possibilities, I finally hit on one that "sorta" worked!  I don't know if I'll ever use this die again as it just does not want to cut out all those little holes!  Has anyone else had problems with this thing?

Anyway, I got it cut out and only used one half of it, added some pearls, embossed a couple of circles and heart, popped it up, and then added another pearl to the heart.  The sentiment is a very old one from SU that I haven 't used in forever.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Card Crafter's Circle (CAS) and Emergency Crafter's Challenge (Circles).

(Stay tuned for my {Pin}spirational Challenge post that will be coming up later this morning)

Thanks for stopping by...............and be sure and check out our Shopping Our Stash challenge!

With Love

I'm really hoping this is my very last Valentine's Day card....getting a little tired of them now! LOL!  If I don't get off my duff and get busy creating this week though I may have to post another Valentine that I did several weeks ago.

A very CAS card again using one of the Hand Penned Holidays sentiments from SU , the Swiss dots embossing folder, red card stock, and the ribbon......Ah, the ribbon!  Last year I went to a gift/florist shop that was closing and they had everything in it for 90 % off.  I found this ribbon for like a quarter and I know there must be at least 50 yards on the spool.  I call it the Hairy Ribbon since it ravels out on the edges. LOL!

Hearts and Valentines

At Creative Belli  this week the challenge is themed Heart/Valentines!  You have one week to submit your entry and be sure and check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  Remember, in keeping with the spirit of the Belli Challenge, use your old and forgotten embellishments!

I decided to go VERY clean and simple with my hearts and lovin' you Valentine.  The image was a free digi from Beyond the Fringe and I added a SU sentiment to it.  The ribbon is some from my stash and the little heart charm was buried under a bunch of  unused stuff I had.  As I said, a clean and simple (git 'er done) card but will be a cute one for the upcoming Valentine's Day celebration.

I'm going to be taking a small (very small) blogging break here but hopefully will return on Saturday or Sunday. I may try to post a card for Friday (not a Funny Friday though - maybe next week!) but we'll just have to wait and see.

Thanks for stopping by..........and be sure and head on over to the Creative Belli blog and submit your entry.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

This is my last post as a Guest Designer for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.  It's really been fun and I've enjoyed every minute of it.  Thanks so much, ladies!

The challenge this week is themed From the Heart.  Be sure and check out all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and come on over and enter your project.  We're being sponsored by Dearie Dolls Digis, who so graciously provided the images.

I used this cute little pre-colored image that had all the sentiments with it.  When you don't have time (or just don't want to color images) the pre-colored ones are the route to do.  I used some Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, and Walk in the Park DP on here.  The flower is a die cute from Tim Holtz along with a SU punch and I dampened the edges and kind of curled them up a little (although it may be hard to see that in the photo).

Thanks for stopping by ...... and be sure and head on over to Tuesday Throwdown Challenge.

Toadily in Love

Love is in the air over at the Stamps R Us Challenge blog!  Come on over and join in all the fun as our theme is Valentine/Love.  You have two weeks to complete your project and submit to our challenge.  This really shouldn't be much of a challenge for anyone this time as it seems we're all busy making Valentine's Day cards or projects right now.  We're being sponsored by Robyn's Fetish - who so graciously gave us the images to work with for this challenge. Be sure and check out the Stamps R Us challenge to see all the great creations by the DT.

I love the expression on the "she froggies" face - "um....do I really want to get involved with this "he froggie" with all those spots on his chest...what if they're catching! But, then again, he's got CANDY"!

It's a fun image (and you can find it in the shop at Robyn's Fetish) and would make a cute Valentine's card for someone.

Thanks for stopping by........and be sure and check out our challenge at Stamps R Us.

Whimsy Times Three

I finally broke down a week or so ago and ordered a Memory Box Die!  I wasn't sure if it would work in my Cuddlebug, but it did and I love it.  Now all I have to do is decide what other dies I want from them!   I mean, I NEED them, right!!! LOL
I made three super simple (git 'er done") cards using this die!

For this first one, I left some of the die intact and dotted glue behind it so the little pieces wouldn't fall out.  I used some red texture paper and a CTMH heart that I embossed.  The sentiment is Well Scripted from SU.  (The sewing was a little ratty on the edges - but hopefully you can just over look that!)

The owl on this card was done with the SU punch - that I always forget I have.  Again I used the Whimsy Circle die and punched out all the little pieces.  The sentiment is from Perfect Words - SU. And note the pink lined circle inside the circle.....I used a SU marker on this and finally found out how to do it after chatting with Donna over at Designing Keepsakes.  Super simple and should have been able to figure that one out by myself - what can I say......um...maybe old age creeping in faster than I thought!!

And......I used some purple texture card stock and placed the butterfly from the SU Flores Suaves set in the center.  The sentiment is from the SU Upsy Daisy set and I stamped this in White Craft and then used some white embossing powder.

Enough "whimsy" for today I guess.......Just wanted to show off my new die with some simple cards.

Hope everyone has a great week and thanks for stopping by.............

A Single Heart

Well, this is the "last of the litter"! I finally remembered that this coming Monday is Valentine's Day so I got all my cards mailed out today - except for this one. I'll be giving this to my husband for the "big day".

The square images were made with an old SU set called Mostly Flowers (thanks Kristin!) and the heart with a set from CTMH called Soul Mates. I looked up the Mostly Flowers set in SCS under the gallery and saw several that I guess this could be a CASE of - but none that I saw had the heart in the center. I used some Cherry Cobbler, White, and Black card stock. The squares were stamped with Archival Black from CTMH and the heart with Cherry Cobbler. I also heat embossed the heart using Iridescent Ice. The ribbon is some that I had in my stash and really matches that Cherry Cobbler.

This will be for the following challenges; Creative Inspirations Paint - inspired by hearts, and for Stampin Royalty - hearts, and last but not least - The Paper Players - love is in the air!

Thanks for stopping by...............

Beary Much Love

This cute little image called Girl Bear is from Digi Doodle Shop. Isn't she adorable? Wouldn't you just LOVE to have it........well, come on over to the Stamps R Us Challenge blog and win and she could be yours! The winner will receive a $10.00 gift card to Digi Doodle Shop!!! Plus, the top three will receive a badge for their blog! The challenge runs for two weeks, beginning today, and the theme is LOVE. Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, a card with the theme of love should be easy to come by. Come join in the fun today at Stamps R Us Challenges. We also have a couple of new Design Team members and you'll love their creations - so come on over!

Now, back to this cute little bear.....I used some Real Red, Pixie Pink, White and some Valentine paper I had in my stash. I colored her with prismas (still practicing...)and the punch is from MS. I also used the Swiss Dots embossing folder and the bow was tied with the help of my Bow-Easy.

This is for several challenges.....I actually never enter more than like three challenges at a time, but I found five that I thought I'd try this time: Card Making Mamas ( this one is for a Valentine card), Digis With Attitude Challenge (using the colors pink and white or red and white - I actually used white with pink and red), Off the Wall Craftiness (using the colors pink, red, and white), Crafty Sentiments (use a bear), and Digi Doodle Shop (Valentine).

Thanks for stopping by..........and be sure and check out Stamps R Us Challenges today.

Heart Flowers

When my mojo seems to just disappear - as it often does....I try to either do a sketch challenge or CASE a card. In this case I CASEd a card that I saw on The Queen's Scene by Lynn. I used a different image and paper but it's basically the same. I picked up this little image by Craftsmart in the $1.00 bin at Michaels - gotta love those $1.00 stamps! The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU). Throw is a little red, pink, white, DP, a couple of punches, nesties and ribbon - and it's completed! A very quick card but I like how it turned out and it'll make a cute card for Valentine's Day. No bling added - which means no extra postage when mailing!!!

Thanks for stopping by.......and have a nice weekend......

Got Animals?

Stamps R Us Challenge is in full swing right now. This is a challenge that lasts for two weeks and we're just now entering our second week with the theme of: Animals! Come on over and add your creation and get a chance to win FREE images from Sew Many Cards. The winner AND the Top Three will also receive a badge to put on their side bar. So be sure and stop by this wonderful challenge blog: Stamps R Us Challenges.

This little image is from Sew Many Cards. I'm not impressed AT ALL with my card today - but here it is anyway. This was just one of those that looked so good in my mind but not like I wanted it to look on paper. It's kinda like shopping for clothes - you know you see something hanging on the rack and it's just what you're looking for and about the cutest thing you've ever seen....and then you try it on and UCK! Anyway....the image is just adorable with him pulling that little cart of hearts and I think it'll make a cute card for a child.

I'll be entering this in the following challenges: Mark's Finest Papers (a Valentine's Day card) and Creative Inspirations Paint ( the theme of Love)

Thanks for stopping by....................

I'm So Bad

I look around "Blog-land" and see so many fantastic creations by all you ladies and gents (yes, I said "gents" - if you have time go check out Kevin's blog, McCrafty's Cards - wonderful inspiration there)...Anyway, as I was saying......all these great cards and projects out there with super coloring, beautiful flowers, and such gorgeous designer paper.......and then here I go with something just very plain and simple (you notice I didn't say "clean and simple" - because when I think of "clean" I think of alot of white space). Anyway........here's my creation. No flowers, frills, or beautiful coloring....does that make me bad! Hope you enjoy anyway.

I used Crumb Cake, Real Red and white card stock. The images are from the SU set Filled With Love. I added the little button with floss and a single rhinestone.

This will be entered in the following challenges: Mark's Finest Papers - to use a heart on your project and CES Challenges - no designer paper.

Thanks for stopping by..............
