I'm a Princess

Well, I'M not actually a princess but this card will go to one!  The cute little image is from My Grafico who is sponsoring the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week!  We have recipe challenge straight from Nana Connie - who dearly loves the color purple........SO, we need to see your creations with the following recipe: One image, One patterned paper, and the Color of Purple.  Be sure and stop by Tuesday Throwdown and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and enter the challenge this week.

I used a pierced circle die from Lil Inker and embossed it with the Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  The purple piece of patterned paper was a scrap and the 'hello princess' is from a no-name set I've had stashed away for a long time.  The little girl was colored with Copics and then I went over her entire dress with the Wink of Stella Pen.................Now........on to the hair!!!!!!  Yikes!!!  I don't like coloring hair, I'm not good at coloring hair, and would rather not have anything to do with hair!  I think I've watched every video and tutorial out there and it still looks ratty!  They all say to use the "flicking motion".  I'm sorry, but my flicking just does not flick!  I was really wanting to paper piece some hair on her - like maybe in purple - but she just didn't seem to be the type with purple hair for some reason!

Anyway........be sure and check out the Tuesday Throwdown challenge and enter for your chance to win a wonderful prize package from My Grafico.

Some Stars and a (Dirty Looking) Jar

I was playing around with a star die I recently purchased and completed a card for graduation.  I used a stripe stencil and some embossing paste and then sprinkled it with embossing powder and heat set.   Even though it doesn't say anything about graduation, it should work just fine for that occasion.

Since I was in the mood, I also created a card using a jar stamp from SU and another new die.  I really like this die and in my mind this was going to be one spectacular card!  I used vellum for the jar and think I should have used acetate instead (but of course don't have any) so as an end result the jar looks rather dirty!  LOL! So, nothing spectacular I'm afraid but still a little spring-y.

I'll enter both cards in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Just a Note

Just a note......to say I made another CAS card today.  (Um.....I really didn't mean for that to rhyme, but it did)!  I'm really not that clever!

This was one of those spur of the moment brain storms (or brain - somethings) using some scrap pieces of paper.  The yellow is from SU, red strip from Simple Stories, and the notebook looking paper from somewhere else - but can't tell you where because the cover came off the 6X6 pad and is now history!  I don't even think I've ever used the notebook paper before mainly because it always appeared to be a little dirty looking or smudged.  Maybe that's the "distress" look of it.  Anyway!  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  This was stamped in Momento Luxe and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The sequins in yellow, red, and blue were added and then the tiny clothes pin clipped on.

I'd like to enter this in the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge this week and also Fusion.  See the sketch and photo for the Fusion challenge below.  I'm pretty sure I even "fused" them together!

Another Hoot

Not really much to say about my card today except - here it is!  The little hooters are from a Hero Arts set that was done for Operation Write Home.  It has so many super cute images and sentiments.  The wooden do-dads (don't know what else you call those things) were from a Simon Says Stamp kit.  Image colored in Copics and clouds with Tumbled Glass distress ink.

Was that just the shortest post ever!!!!!!  Not very chatty for some reason so won't even attempt to bore you with more.............

Everything's Just Ducky

Hope everything is just ducky wherever you are today!  I'm here with a cute little digi from Deedee's Digis.  This little guy is from the set Rainy Day and not only includes cute images in color and line, but also sentiments and paper!  All of Deedee's Digis are so very cute and pretty and if you haven't checked out her site yet, go take a peek.

I used the line version of little duck and colored him/her with Copics and made some dots on the umbrella.  the three strips of paper were just some I had in my scraps from various companies.  I added a button and the twine and think this will be good to send to a friend.  Who knows......maybe it'll even rain now!

Two Chubby Bunnies

Hi everyone!  This first little bunny is from All Dressed Up and what a wonderful little guy he is!  He's a new image that you can find in the All Dressed Up SHOP along with so many others!  Hop on over to the blog and see all the new images and join in on our current challenge.  You must use an All Dressed Up image but there's free ones on the blog if you don't have any OR you can always drop a few in your Easter basket from the store!

I used two different patterned papers on this and colored the bunny by just outlining him with a Copic and using chalk for the inside of his ear.  No way could I never color this little guy like the next one you're going to see. The grass was stamped with a Lawn Fawn stamp and then I die cut a couple of little clouds to add to the picture.  Now, on to the second chubby bunny...................

Can everyone say Ahhhhhhhhh....at the same time!  Isn't this little baby adorable!  Jim was mowing in a field close to the house the other day and came really close to smoking this little one out completely!  LOL!  He called to come running with the camera.  I really thought he had a 6 foot long rattlesnake or something.  But no, he had this little baby rabbit that was in the way of the mower.  I'm just thankful he saw it.  Pretty cute, right!

Be sure and hop on over to All Dressed Up!

Thanks for stopping by..........and hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Tennis, Anyone?

Kenny K is sponsoring our brand new Digi Haven challenge this week!  They provided us with the wonderful images and our theme this go-round is Black, White, and One other Color.  Stop by our blog and see all the inspiration from the DT and enter for your chance to win a great prize package from Kenny K!

Guess this is another one of my CAS and git 'er done cards!  The reason I wanted to use this image though is because it's going to one of the granddaughters that's attempting to learn the game of tennis.  Figured she needed all the encouragement she could get.  She's at at age where she seems to be all arms and legs and is having problems getting them all to work together.  LOL!  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn and I used the star die from SU and a camera die from Lil Inker.  Nothing frilly or fancy but at least she'll know I'm rooting for her.

I'll enter this in the challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew (anything goes with twist: Stars) and also the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets).

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and check out Digi Haven and enter our challenge.

Vintage/Shabby Chic

Vintage - um....I'm not there yet but getting closer by the day I'm afraid!
Shabby - Probably.....and if you check out my wardrobe you'd say I was for sure!
Chic - No even!

Vintage, Shabby Chic is the theme of our challenge beginning today at Tuesday Throwdown.  Stop by the blog and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and enter for your chance to win a fantastic prize from our sponsor, Really Reasonable Ribbon!

I used a Just Inklined image on my card and colored it up with Copics and Prisma pencils.  The sky was created with Tumbled Glass distress ink.  Then I really "went to town" on distressing and sponging.  LOL!  The panel with the rabbit was done with a die and then I added the stitching on the other panels with my trusty sewing machine.  The crochet lace is some from my stash.

This is not my usual type of card at all (but you probably already know that)!  A challenge is a challenge though and it was fun getting a little messy with all the distress stuff.

Thanks for stopping by......and check out our Vintage/Shabby Chic challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.

Burlap and Butterfly

I've seen so many cards out in blogland that are similar to this so decided to try one and see what happened.   Mine looks different of course and I'm not half as impressed with mine as I was some of the other ones I saw - but at least I tried.

This really is one of those cards that looks better in real life - maybe because of the shine on the top butterfly where I used some Frost White Paint.  I stenciled the light blue in the background with Tumbled Glass, added some Certainly Celery green to the leaves, attempted to do some twine loopy things, then cut a piece of burlap in the "bug", punched a white circle and mounted the Impression Obsession butterfly die.  The underside of the butterfly was die cut in a piece of purple card stock.

That burlap.......ah......Connie, over at My Grammy's Attic sent me several pieces of this stuff and it's actual burlap but has a backing on it so it cuts great and is wonderful.  Thanks again Connie!

Smile on a Fun Friday!

I know y'all probably think I dropped off the face of the earth - if you even knew I hadn't posted since Monday!  I'd love to say I was so busy making cards or taking a trip to Tahiti - however, have just been very busy with yard work, gardening, and life in general!  Sometimes things like that get in the way of what we'd rather be doing.

Since it's Friday and I haven't done a Fun Friday in a long time, thought I'd throw this one out there to give everyone a big SMILE!  Ever since I first saw this image by Mo's Digital Pencil I knew I had to have it.  It just gives me a little reminder of what I'd like to do to Jim on occasion!  LOL!!!  What can I say!  Hey, I even took my time coloring on this and thought it came out pretty good on that part.  Maybe I need to have a little more patience (the actual name of the image) and take more time when I color.  I'm more of a "git 'er done" type person though.  Oh well.............I used a scrap piece of patterned paper that was in the SSS kit and look at that stitching!!!!!!!!!  Yikes!  It's almost in a straight seam!  Woot!  The twine bow looks a little funky but it was just laying the wrong way when I snapped the photo.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop (snippets) and also at Sarah Hurley 365 (real or faux stitching)  This is a new challenge to me and I'm so glad I found it.  Take a peek at all the DT cards!  they're great.

So.......it's Friday and everyone can spend the whole weekend smiling now!!!

Thanks for stopping by........

Lots of Polka Dots!

If you don't like owls or polka dots you better skip right over this and go on to the next blog on your list!  It is what it is!

The cute little owls are from the Digi of the Month set over at Deedee's Digis!  You can get your set for a reduced price at the store and then play along in the monthly challenge, and you'll be sent a free one to use next month.  Then if you play along again next month you'll get another free image.  Can't beat a deal like that - plus they're all so cute and pretty!  You can find the challenge and store at Deedee's Digis!

I used the pre-colored version of these little guys.  The set also comes with the line drawings so you can color you own, and a bunch of cute sentiments and some of them are just right for Mother's Day that's coming up soon.  This was mounted and popped up on a piece of white cardstock and then placed on some wild polka dot paper from Stampin' Up.  I added  some black and white enamel dots and twine and then stamped a sentiment on here since I really couldn't decide where to put one of the cute sentiments that come with the set.  I may be back before the end of the month though and show you another card using the owls with one of their sentiments.

Stringing Easter Eggs

We're having another challenge over at Digi Haven starting today and would love to see you submit your entry for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from our sponsor Di's Digis!!    Our theme this time is Easter and use the color brown somewhere on your creation!  Be sure and stop by the blog for all the details on this challenge and see all the inspiration from the design team.

Isn't she a cute little girl!  I love her Easter hat and that colorful string of eggs.  She's from Whimsey Doodles. She's colored with Copics and then cut out and popped up.  I added a few sequins and tied a piece of twine around that scrap paper banner.  I added some Wink of Stella to various parts of the eggs.  This is mounted on Kraft card stock.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Pixie's Crafty Workshop - that is, if they'll still have me!  It's been way too long since I played along in their wonderful challenges.  I used snippets of twine, patterned paper, and the little girl.

Be sure and check out our Easter with Brown challenge at Digi Haven and play along!

All Dressed Up in Monochromatic

It's time for another challenge over at All Dressed Up!  Our theme this go round is Monochromatic!  We'd love for you to enter so stop by the blog and get all the details.  You must use an All Dressed Up image but if you don't already have one, there are FREE images available on the blog.

I used this cute little kitty called Purrrfect Together that you can find in the All Dressed Up Shop.  In keeping with the theme of monochromatic I used black and white papers and added gray to the kitty with some black and white polka dots on the bow.  It was so hard not to add some red or some other color on there but a challenge is a challenge!   I framed her out with a Camera Frame, added some ribbon, and rhinestones.  The sentiment was completed with a die and then stacked for more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by......and be sure and check out the All Dressed Up blog to see some wonderful inspiration from the DT and enter the challenge.

A Star for Tuesday Throwdown

It's time again for another challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown!  Our theme this week is a little different (or at least it was for me........and pretty much sent me into a tailspin)!  We want to see your creations where you crop a part of the image.  In other words, only use part of the image.  This was a digi image from Robyn's Fetish (who is also our wonderful sponsor this week) and the image is of a little boy standing.  I only used the head portion for my card.  Stop over at the Tuesday Throwdown challenge and check out all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and you'll see some wonderful examples following this theme.  Of course there's a prize for the winner so be sure and play along this week too.

As I said, the image is from Robyn's Fetish and all I did was add some paper from CTMH, a sentiment from Lawn Fawn, some stars from a SU die, and brads.  I embossed the Cherry Cobbler panel with the Swiss Dots folder and then added the twine.

Thanks for stopping by.......and be sure and head on over to the Tuesday Throwdown challenge!
