We either have a mama or a papa llama - or maybe it's a whatever gender llama. They're cute though and they come from Taylored Expressions. I love that you can add whatever you want to their blanket and all that. The cactus came from a Gerda Steiner set and the sentiment is also from Taylored Expressions. I did a little sponging, added the clouds and that was about it.
YeeHaw and all that kind of good stuff!!!! A very CAS card for one of the guys for whatever occasion I need it for. I think it'd be good for a birthday, Father's Day, or whatever.
The cowboy and rider are from Stampendous and the sentiment is from Close to My Heart. I've always loved that sentiment because when you come right down to it, there really IS a little cowboy in everyone....male or female. (No, I'm not going to show you a picture of my cowboy boots today though)!!!! I added a few embossed lines and that was it.
I'd like to enter this in the challenge at AAA cards - one layer with optional of black and white.
Don't get excited......I'm not celebrating anything around here other than maybe summertime. I just couldn't figure out a title for the post though so picked celebrating since it's already in the sentiment. Guess I could have always picked "with" ..........O.....K.....
A very basic clean and simple card using an image from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions. I only colored one of the flowers (in Copics and colored pencils) because I thought it looked good like that - and besides........it'd be a lot of coloring otherwise. O.......K........
I love to fish.......and always will..........unless I catch something that looks like this. That certainly may make me change my mind in a hurry. Aren't they hilarious looking!!! So much fun and I absolutely love their expressions. They're from Rubbernecker Stamps.
I used some distress oxides on the circle and then cut the fish out and mounted them That's about all there was to it. I'd thought about adding google eyes but thought maybe that'd be overkill with the clear bubbles I added - maybe next time. The sentiment is from a MFT set.
Hey guys, it's time for another challenge over at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies. This time we're being sponsored by none other than Rick St. Dennis. Come on over and enter for a chance to win but be sure you have some type of critter on your card or project.
Gosh, this makes me wish I was sitting on the beach in Hawaii or somewhere similar. Not that I'd be doing the hula though - but then again, I'm not a mouse either! It really would be nice soaking up the sun or even sitting under the palm tree - sipping on a margarita of course.
The palm tree and mound of sand are from a Lawn Fawn set of stamps and the sunshine die is also from Lawn Fawn. Of course that cute image is from Rick St. Dennis! I used a stencil and distress inks for the clouds.
Life really is a ball - and especially if you're a dog. Most dogs love to chase tennis balls or any other kind of ball. Rambo.......prefers squirrels. Oh well, what can you say!
I just loved the Inky Paws sketch challenge at Newton's Nook so had to play along this time. I did a very basic clean and simple card and pretty well followed the sketch. The stamp set I used from Newton's Nook is called Fetching Friendship.
Graduation for the granddaughter is finally said and done! She did a great job, received numerous scholarships, and just generally did wonderful. I, for one, am ready for some peace and quiet now....at least a little bit. I'll be around a lot more now and may even have some time to make a card or two also. It's pretty nice as you get older.......everyone just looks at you and sighs and says - ah, she's just so old and getting slower now.........So, as you age, be sure and take note of all these little things. It doesn't matter if you can run circles around them - don't do it and they'll just think you're old. I'm rambling...............
I made this card several months ago. I was going to try and get a better picture of it but can't even find the card now. Guess that means it's already been shipped out. Anyway, I used a stamp from Art Impressions. Very basic, clean and simple card - but it's done and evidentially already gone to whoever it was going to.
Everyone has a bad day ever so often but it seems like lately when I have one, I go all out and have a worse day! Yesterday as I was trying to publish a comment that someone made on my last post, I hit something wrong and it removed the content from all the previous comments. UGH!!! Carol sent me a link to be able to get back the comments and it didn't work because of how I receive my comments or something. Technical garbage basically. So, anyway......it is what it is now and I'm sorry if you commented and it's no longer showing.
Next up was doing a little coloring on an image. Ran out of ink while using the Copic, got it all refilled, and realized I'd used the wrong refill on it so that bit the dust. Another big UGH! I really wanted to use that pen so decided to run to Michael's and just pick up another one until I could run all the ink out of the one I messed up.
Ok...........I had to go next door to Petsmart for a particular item anyway so off I went. Got the pen and headed to Petsmart. Now, I love animals and being in Petsmart is sorta like being in heaven. Maybe not so much when you have to smell the dog food and all that but whatever. I wandered around in there for a good hour just looking at everything (and of course picking up way too much and sticking it in the cart). Got home and got everything unloaded and nope, didn't get what I initially went there for. Figures and so typical.
Then I decided to go ahead and enter my last card in the challenges I listed. One went through fine....the other one came up with all this mess about inlink or linkedin , social media, needing a login and password.............DUH! Never had one before for that so guess I need it now. Started adding that in and this big sign comes up and says it's not secure and basically everyone in the world is going to know who you are and probably what kind of undies you wear too! EEPPPPP!! I scooted out of there in a hurry. What's the deal with all that anyway?
Now that I've written a small essay, there's my card................what can I say except Ha, Ha, HA!
Thanks for stopping by..........and have a good weekend.
I know this is coming as a big shock - no critter! I should have added a little butterfly to make it more of a Lynn card I guess. Every so often I guess it's good to go with something different though. All the stamps used on here are from WPlus9. Love the wood background stamp and that wreath. So many ways you could decorate the wreath - even for Christmas. The sketch I used was one from Newton's Nook a while back and I really like it too.
I've been laying low on the weekends and in case you haven't noticed and haven't been by to comment on cards then. This may be the new norm as it gives me a chance to maybe create a little bit and do other things too.
Also, the oldest granddaughter is graduating in 2 weeks. Holy Moly!!!!! I've never seen so much activity and going on's! When we graduated we basically showed up for the ceremony (and didn't even want to do that). Not anymore.....parties every night, awards ceremonies, more parties, and more ceremonies. It's a never ending story. At least I've been contributing some.......I've made over 130 thank you cards for her to send out........ also about 30 tags to add to gifts and that type of thing. So I haven't just been sluffing off and not creating anything.
I wandered into one of the local hobby stores the other day and it's filled with flamingos! They're everywhere. I was almost blinded from all the pink - and legs. So, what do you do but come home and make a flamingo card! Makes sense doesn't it! Ugh!
The image and sentiment are from a MFT stamp set. Did a little sponging through a stencil behind the bird and then popped on a couple of clouds - because I could. I put all this on some card stock I've had for a long time It's shiny and to be honest, not the greatest in the world. Really light weight. So after I made this, I grabbed some good card stock and made another one. Probably by the time these get mailed for birthdays the flamingo fad will be long gone. On well.........
Fun seahorse today for our 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge this month. Come on over and enter your card or other project. All you have to include on it is a critter of some type on it.
The seahorse image I used is from Frabika Fantasy, who is the sponsor for our challenge this month. For the actual image I used Copics and colored pencils. Nothing fancy, but think he looks pretty cool. For the background blue, I used some blue and purple alcohol ink - sorta dribbling it on and then moving it around with a brush. You never know what kind of background you're going to get using the ink that way. Fun technique.
Not sure if this is a quacker, clucker, or honker - but know it's not a beep, beep, zoomer. Although by looking at his face he's probably confused on exactly what he is too. Oh My Gosh!!!! Is this a Fun Friday or what!!! It's been a while since I did one of those.
I do love the funny images and as soon as I saw this from Katzalkraft - and quit laughing - it immediately went in the check out cart. This is just one of the images in the set and the entire set makes me laugh out loud. I thought the sentiment was appropriate too for who I'm sending it to. She's a little confused most of the time and probably has been since she was born so it fits perfect! What am I saying.............I'M the one that's usually confused!!!
This was a card I actually made toward the end of last year and I would say it's gathering dust here but it was sent right after I snapped the photo. As far as what I used on it......gosh, your guess is as good as mine probably.
I'm certain I used a Mama Elephant sentiment. After that, it's possible I used some MFT images and a die from Lawn Fawn. Just can't remember all the details on this and yes, before you even ask....I'm too lazy to go look it all up. So, we'll just say it's a card and it was fun to create and hopefully fun to open too.
...and I feel like I used enough snippets so am going to enter it in Pixie's Crafty Workshop! I never feel like I use enough snippets there but I did on this one.
No matter what I do I can't seem to get a good picture of anything these days. This was taken with my phone and looks pretty washed out. It is what it is though since it's already in the mail. Then to top it all off, the program I use to edit my photos on the computer freezes up every time I try to use it. Then it snowballs.....turn off the computer, can't get it turned off, finally get it turned off and then can't get it to come on, get it to come on and it goes back to that same program that froze it initially! Grrrrrrrr.............WHY do I even deal with this mess!
Anyway, the images are from My Favorite Things. The purple in the background was done with some of the Pearl Alcohol inks. Some sort of technique that I tried the other day.
Now don't laugh because like it or not Halloween will be here before you know it. If I wasn't so lazy I could count out the days and give you that information but instead I'll just say it's only about 6 months away so if you're like me, you'd better start early!
When I was in the process of moving a couple of months ago and didn't want to pack up any boxes, I'd grab this Sassy Cherly image and color a little bit. My Copics were going in the car with me instead of the moving truck so they were available. After I got moved, I started digging around and found all the pieces to go with this - the frame, glitter paper, and all that sort of good stuff. Don't even ask why I picked a Halloween image because as you know, I don't like Halloween!!!!!! What can I say.............
Friday should be for friends, flowers, and fun! Even though this isn't a fun card, it does have flowers and it's going to some friends too. Right before I moved I made some new friends that sorta took me under their wing. They'd bring me food thinking I probably wasn't eating right (which I wasn't) and just generally checking in with me every day to make sure I was ok. Great friends and I hated leaving them. I've been sending them a few cards since I've been here just to let them know how much I think of them. This will be one of the ones sent.
This is one of the new stamps I recently purchased from Technique Tuesday. I wanted to just color it and keep it simple so when I found that piece of frame that I'd die cut back whenever, I knew it'd frame out these flowers perfectly. Colored in Copics and it's a done deal.
Thanks for stopping by..........and have a FUN weekend!
I've been around a long time and have seen a lot of things - but I've never in my life seen penguin poop......and probably never will either. I seriously doubt if it comes in colors like this but who really knows unless you've seen it. I mean, even going to the zoo, I don't go around looking at all the colors of poop. The expression on this little guys face is saying he's a little surprised it came out in different colors but then again, maybe he's never closely examined his poop either!!!
I saw this stamp set from Whimsy Stamps a while back and after seeing the expressions on his face just knew I had to have it. I added the rolling 'hill' and trees, sponged in some clouds, cut out the image and popped it up, and it's a done deal. Quick and easy - and fun - birthday card.
Because I actually used snippets on this card and haven't been to Pixie's Crafty Workshop in a coons age I figured I'd take it over there and enter it in her challenge!
It's time again for another challenge at 2 Craft Critter Crazies! Spring has sprung ( in some places) and the birds are out in force, singing their little hearts out. I'm using Little Love Birds from our sponsor this month- Digi Doodle Studios. They really have some cute images so check out their store.
Be sure and enter our challenge with your card or project for a chance to win a great prize package from our sponsor. All you need to do is have a critter of some kind on your entry.
It appears I'm back - somewhat. I finally got everything moved and even unpacked. Parking it somewhere has become a little problem but I'm finding all sorts of nooks and crannies for things. The desk I had was too large so had to get rid of it and I've finally gotten a different one. I have all my supplies tucked away in various places and it's like hunting Easter eggs looking for something when I start to make a card. It's going to take a while to get used to where everything is again I guess. I'll be back around to check out everyone's blog soon so just bear with me on that.
This was left over from Christmas but thought it'd be appropriate for today. Here today....and gone tomorrow just like Christmas was here and now it's gone for a while. I'm going to be the same way though. Here today and gone tomorrow - and won't be back for a while now. I realize I've just been hit and miss on here but it's going to continue for a while longer I'm afraid
I'll be moving next month and so everything is being boxed up. The stamp room (my happy place) is about 1/16 done. Yes, you read that right. I can't seem to get going on the packing of that room but I'm trying. Seems I get a couple of boxes packed up and it doesn't even look like I've done anything. Then I'll start packing there and remember something else I need to do in the other part of the house, so go back there and start on something else. I get sidetracked really easy I guess. I'll also start to pack something and them realize I hadn't used that stamp in forever or something like that. Surely I don't have too much stuff!!!
Anyway, I'll leave you with this card for now. If I can get everything going like I'd like to do I'll be back around the end of March or maybe April.
Thanks for stopping by..............and I'll eventually be back..............
First of all........Happy New Year to everyone. Hope it's a good one for you.
We're starting the new year off just right with another challenge from 2 Crafty Critter Crazies. Our wonderful sponsor this month is Bugaboo. Everyone loves their images! Be sure and enter our challenge this month for a chance to win a fabulous prize package from them too. All you need to have is some type of critter on your card or project.
I have several critters on my card today. In fact, it's a stack of critters (called Farm Critter Stack from Bugaboo) I used some barn wood type red paper for the background, sponged in a few clouds, added the strip of black and white stripe paper, and then my image framed out with the wonky stitching die. As an afterthought I added the fence - cutting out several and stacking them for dimension.
