Here's Fall

This is my SECOND post of the day - The Shopping Our Stash post is directly below!

Well....I say fall's here.......but actually it hasn't really hit down this far south yet - so I'll just have to look at it on my card.   Sigh!   It seems we pretty much skip the season around here except for maybe a couple of weeks.  It is nice to see the trees start changing colors though - just haven't seen it yet.

Our {Pin}spirational Challenge starts to day with the beauty of fall!  We're being sponsored by Stitchy Bear this time and be sure and enter for a chance to win a wonderful prize package!!  Pop over to the blog and be inspired by all the creations from the DT too.

I recently got this stamp from Impression Obsession and love it since you stamp the leaves separate and can change out the seasons that way.  For this go round I used some fall-ish colors and added the little swing.  The fence is a punch I've had a long time but don't think I've ever used it before - it looks more like a fence for a Halloween card since it's kind of broken down and missing a few boards.  LOL!  It probably could have used a little taller fence - guess I'll have to just go shopping now!  Good excuse!

Isn't our {Pin}spirational photo a beauty!!   Love the orange against that blue sky!

I'll enter this in the challenges at Broken Box Stock (Fall Foliage Color Palette, Clearly I Stamp (Fall into Fall), Dilly Beans (Autumn Colors), and Sassy Studio Designs (Fall Colors).

I probably won't have a card until next week.....I really tried so hard so get some crafting done the last couple of days but it just didn't happen!    If I do get one finished it'll not only be a surprise to you, but also to me!  We had company all weekend and now have company coming again on Thursday (through Sunday) so I need to clean the teepee! LOL!  Seems like I just did this last week!!!  Oh well.......I probably won't even be able to turn on the computer while they're here so if I don't pop into your blog, that's the reason why - but I'll be back!

Thanks for stopping by.................

Fur and Feather

Today starts another challenge over at Shopping Our Stash and our theme is Furry or Feathered Friends (NO creepy crawly spiders or insects though, please).  Check out the blog for all the details and also to see wonderful creations by the DT.  When you enter be SURE and use up some of that stash.

I was slinking through the Thrift Shop the other day to see what kind of treasures I could find and in a cardboard box with all kinds of stuff in it sat this PSX stamp of a dog  for 25 cents!  What a "find" this was!  Love the little dog.  It looks like a lab but guess it could be just about any kind (almost) of dog you wanted it to be.....not a dachshund though! LOL!  The dog print ribbon is some I haven't used in close to forever - along with that snippet of DP.  The bone brad was given to me so long ago and am finally using that too.  The dark brown background was embossed using a SU Texturz plate - that gives a very subtle imprint.

My {Pin}spirational Challenge post is coming up in a minute - and says a little about Fall!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure and submit your entry in our challenge.

Is it Spring Yet?

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!  The weather here is gorgeous - yet still gets a little too warm in the afternoon.  We usually go straight from summer to winter around here.  I'd be nice to have a little bit of fall type weather anyway.  Oh well......we take what we get.

My card is screaming SPRING to me - but I do love that season so it's ok.  The stamp I used on this is called  Dogwood 3 (H12004) from Impression Obsession.   Love these flowers!  I stamped the image, colored it, stamped again, colored it again, and then cut out the flowers and popped them up.  I used a EK punch at the bottom.  This is very similar to a card I made not long ago, and really liked the punched piece at the bottom, so based it on that card.  I added some pearls to the corners and tied a bow with sheer ribbon.

I'll enter this is the challenge at Impression Obsession (Nature Inspired).

Getting a Little Merry

Another Christmas card completed!!  Yeah!  I did a little embossing, used a sliver of my favorite DP (I'm running out way too fast), scalloped some edges, and used a brand new die I got from Impression Obsession!  Love it!  Oh yeah, I also added some silver cording, a tiny rhinestone for the top of the tree, and some dimensionals.  I may have to make several of these - easy to make and an easy mailer!

Whale Wishes

This is my second post of the day.....If you're looking for the Shopping Our Stash challenge, it's below.

We have another great {Pin}spirational Challenge for you beginning today - with another wonderful inspiration photo!  Be sure and stop by our blog and be inspired by all the wonderful cards from the Design Team - plus we have a couple of new DT members and you'll love seeing their creations.

I can always use Get Well cards - either for adults or children - and just never seem to have enough.  I used the whale image from an old SU set called Pun Fun and paper pieced him in some polka got paper.  The background was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Check out those waves folks!!!  LOL!  Since I don't have any type of punch or die to make waves I decided to do them myself with the left over pieces from a scallop edge punch........you know after you use the punch and all those little pieces fall on the floor....then you step on them and find them three rooms over????  Yes, this is what those waves are!

Oh Deer!

Morning everyone - it's time again for another Shopping Our Stash challenge!  Our theme this week is EMBOSSING - either dry embossing or heat embossing!  How easy is that since we all love to emboss!  Stop by our blog to enter this fun challenge.  Be SURE and use up some of that "stash" too!

I did both heat and dry embossing on this card.  I used some silver card stock, the Northern Flurry embossing folder and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (all SU).  The image is one I've never used called Jaunty Reindeer from Paper Inspirations.  I heat embossed him in silver and then added a bit of silver cording.  I kept this one very simple - no rhinestones, ribbon, etc. so it'd be an easy mailer.

Thanks for stopping by..........and stay tuned for my {Pin}spirational Challenge post to follow in a few minutes.

Casual Butterfly

Super simple and super quick - but think this would make a good card for just about any occasion just by changing the sentiment.    The image is from Flores Suaves and sentiment from Watercolor Trio (SU).  I stamped the butterfly twice, cut out one, and popped it up....coloring done with Copics......and added ribbon.  As I said, super quick and simple.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Cas-ual Fridays (to use black and white and one other color.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Shopping Our Stash and {Pin}spirational Challenge posts.

Back to Normal

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes....I'm doing much better now and almost back to "normal" - well, as normal as I can be anyway!

What better way to be my "normal" self than to hit you up with a Funny Friday again!  I won this image through the blog at Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps and if you've never heard of them or checked them out, you really need to do that!  They have so many wonderful images.  You can also see fabulous ways these images are used on Karen's Kreative Kards.

This babe's name is Clara and isn't she just a doll!  That bathing cap makes me smile every time I see it.  CAS and a fun card to make.

And see those sunglasses........Quick story here:  Jim went out on Tuesday after my surgery and got me a pair of sunglasses to wear outside - found them for ONE DOLLAR somewhere.  Got home...... put them on thinking I looked so darling..... went out outside..... all is wonderful..... came back in and took them off..... and ALL the blue color from around the frames rubbed off around my eyes!  Looked like a RACCOON!

Nothing fancy at all on the inside either but thought I'd show you the sentiment with it anyway (forgive it being a little blurry.....last week when I couldn't see anything, it looked pretty good!  LOL!

Since I'm in these (almost) Golden Years I have several friends I can send this too.......So much shifting going on in the "bod" as we age!  LOL!

Three, Two, One

This is my SECOND post of the day.  The {Pin}spriational Challenge is below.

Shopping Our Stash is starting a new challenge today and our theme is - Three/Two/One!  That's right - we want to see three of something, two of something, and one of something!  Be sure and use up that "stash"!
Check out the inspiration from the DT on the blog and then enter your creation!

Three strips of DP, Two pieces of ribbon.  One punched image.  I don't even remember the last time I used this cute owl punch!!  Isn't it just scary to think of all the stuff we have and seldom use.  All the DP on here is from SU and the branch is a die. I used the Postage Punch on the bottom of the DP to give them a slightly different look.   The sentiment is from an old set called Owl Together Now.  I also couldn't resist and just had to add the three blue rhinestone.

Thanks for stopping by......and be sure and check out the Shopping Our Stash challenge.

For Feline Lovers

We're starting another challenge over at {Pin}spirational today and would love for you to come play along.  We're being sponsored by Fresh Brewed Designs and have a wonderful prize package for the winner of our challenge.  Be sure and check out all the inspiration from the DT too!

I used one of the images provided by Fresh Brewed Designs and isn't the little girl and kitty the sweetest.  I embossed all the white background with a Texturz plate that gives a very subtle embossed look.  The image was colored with Copics and PrismaPencils and the frame around the image made with SU punches.  I added the big flower with a button and rhinestone in the center.

And here's our inspiration photo for the week!

My Shopping Our Stash post will be following this - and sure to give you a Hoot!

Thanks for stopping by.......

Sending Wam Fuzzies

I may be MIA for a little while it seems.  As you're reading this I'll be "going under the knife" for a bit of eye surgery!  Not a fun thing to do but I guess if I want to start seeing everything a little better I have to get it done.  Now, if I pop back in here this afternoon like nothing ever happened, it basically means it didn't happen!  Trying to get the old blood pressure down so they can do all this mess.  I just love it when they tell you they're going to be cutting on your eye a bit, but you really need to lower your stress level to get the blood pressure down.  Geeze.........!!!  These "golden years" don't seem so golden at times!  LOL!

I thought this card fit the occasion since I'll only have the use of one eye for several weeks (Kevin, I so admire you!!!)    Note the horns on this little guy - what can I say!  And I guess all the red dots on him represent his blood pressure going up and developing a rash!

I'll be back with my DT cards for {Pin}spirational Challenges and Shopping Our Stash tomorrow.  It may be a few days before I check by everyone's blog - but I'm sure as I get used to the use of only one eye I'll  be good to go again.

Thanks for stopping by..............

Shake Your Booty

My first Halloween card for the year!  I'm thinking I need to get with the program on these even though I only send out about 5 or 6 of them.  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are all creeping up on us fast!

I used one of the images from a new SU set called Bootiful Occasions.  I colored the dots on this with an orange marker and then added the orangish (that's not really a word!! LOL) rhinestone....added a little twine, button, DP, and scallops.  I did both dry and heat embossing - the orange is dry embossed using the Swiss Dots folder and the image and sentiment were heat embossed with black.

I'll enter this in the challenges at Retro Sketch (Sketch), A Blog Named Hero (Embossing) and Card Cupids (Halloween).

Thanks for stopping by........

Huff and Puff

Hi again everyone - this is my second post of the day!!  If you're looking for the {Pin}spirational Challenge post, it's directly below.

It's time again for another challenge over at Shopping Our Stash.   This week our theme is Wooden it be Nice!  We want to see anything that reflects wood - like maybe paper, wood embellishments, trees, a log cabin or whatever........as long as it reflects wood.  Fun, right?  Check out the blog for inspiration from the DT.  Come on over and enter your creation and be sure and use up some of that stash!

I never seem to have enough sympathy cards and (just being honest here) as you get older you really need more of them.  Guess that's a fact of life though.  I'll never forget a neighbor of mine (who was 98 years old at the time) telling me that all her friends had died - then she put this big smile on her face and said that wasn't a problem as she just made new, and younger, friends!  Pretty good way of looking at things.  She lived to be 106.

Anyway, on to my card. I used an image from SU's Thoughts and Prayers set and stamped the image with markers.  This is SO HARD for me to do! You know, where you color in on the rubber with the markers and then huff and puff, then stamp!  I get it colored in, huff and puff until I feel like the house is going to blow down, and then stamp!  Sometimes it comes out ok, other times, not!  I just can't seem to get the vivid colors.   From my "stash" I used the image (haven't used lately), the paper (maybe never used?) beige ribbon (has been very neglected) and the small brown pearls ( the package was still unopened).

I'll enter this is the following challenges:  My Time Made Easy (Sketch), and Speedy and Friends (Sympathy card), and Squigglefly (Monochromatic).

A Wall of Flowers

Another challenge over at {Pin}spirational begins today and we'd love to have you play along! We're being sponsored by Birdie Brown!!!  Be sure and enter your creation for a chance to win a wonderful prize package from them!  Such fabulous images!  Check out the {Pin}spirational Challenge blog!!

I did the three panels of DP that way to sort of resemble the wall/fence that you see in the inspiration photo.  AND, I used purple!  Yikes!  I never do a card in purple and  really don't see any purple in the photo, but wanted purple pansies, so that's what you get!  Just pretend those purple pansies are like the pink flowers in the photo!  LOL!  The frame around the image was done with an embossing folder from SU and the image is from Hero Arts.

Isn't this {Pin}spirational photo great though........so pretty and would love to have that in my backyard (especially if I could keep all the flowers alive!).

I'll be back in a little bit with my post for Shopping Our Stash so don't go away!

Thanks for stopping by..........

Photos and Fire Ants

A couple of weeks back, Lesley, over at Always Playing with Paper, had the prettiest card using some of the the Papillon Potpourri images from SU.  I really liked it and decided to CASE it today.  I used some Real Red, Black, and White for my card.  I didn't emboss on this like she did but thought it would make a good note card just the same.

Of course nothing is EVER easy for me!  I got the entire card completed and then decided to go ahead and add the little feelers to these guys.  Not a problem at all - got them all lined up - stamped away - and WOW!  I did it without messing up the card!  Then looked down and had a couple of smudges of black ink on one side!  SO, I ended up adding a little more polka dot DP to cover them up!  Whew!

SOMETHING TO SMILE ABOUT TODAY.......When I take a picture of my cards I usually like to do it outside.  Depending on the time of day and where the sun in coming from, I have to sit on the concrete patio and place the card on an old barn wood bench to take the shot.  We've been having a run on Fire Ants lately and if you don't know what they are, just feature an ant that's bigger than a sugar ant and yet smaller than a red ant and can sting like no body's business!  Ouch!  They hurt so bad......As I was sitting on the concrete yesterday taking this picture I didn't notice it, but actually sat in a few of these little boogers and they got in my pants - just stinging away!  I came flying in the house, pulling my pants down in the process...I won't even go into the comment that Jim made!  LOL!

Hope everyone is having a good day.
