Ghost Stories

The theme for the challenge over at Creative Inspirations Paints is "Bedtime Stories"! Ok, you ask, so why am I posting a Halloween card?

When I was a very young girl ( a LONG time ago mind you) my brother and I would spend the night at my great aunt's house sometimes. As bedtime stories, she told us ghost stories.....with the ghosts, vampires, goblins, etc. I'm serious! She was a fabulous story teller and we would usually go home and have nightmares for days! In fact, I think I was in high school before I finally quit checking under my bed at night for something like the creature from the Black Lagoon! Scary! I just hope it didn't warp my mind too much!

One of the granddaughters requested that her Halloween card be very shiny and have lots of ribbon! I think this will qualify. I used some Glimmer Mist on the gray looking background -smearing it all over after spraying. Gives it a nice shine. Then I took a match (actually, matches) and burnt all the edges of that piece. I also frayed all the ends of the black and white ribbon to make it look "scary"! On the three images (from SU Booglie Eyes) I used some Copics and Creative Inspirations paint (Silver Frost). Now that stuff REALLY shines! The layout is from Diva Coffee Break Designs.

Thanks for stopping by...........

Lynn

Oh my goodness Lynn, this card is craft-tastic! Just terrific!

By the way, I thought the Creature from the Black Lagoon lived in my closet for years. Wouldn't go to sleep if my closet door was open (I guess I didn't think the Creature could open doors). I wonder where he lives today?

What a great card! It is just so perfect and goes with your story, which is so cute, it is fun to look back to when we were little, not too long ago? Like the glimmer mist on the gray.

This is an amazing card! I bet the glitz and glimmer IRL is outstanding too. I love your childhood story about the scary stories- if I watch a scary movie- to this day- I get nightmares..........! Thanks for entering at the Creative Inspirations Paint challenge!

I think I would have had to have worn ear plugs. I don't like scary/creepy/gory movies/books/stories. I have nightmares every night anyway... I don't need to add monsters and vampires to the mix. But your card is cute and adorable. I like the grey and orange and the fun ribbon treatment.
