Name the Pumpkin
Every year for Thanksgiving dinner we usually have about 20 to 25 family members and friends over. Alot of cooking and dirty dishes for sure! However, this year it appears that we may not have that many (whew!). Even though we won't have that many guests this year I still like to make everything look festive. These will be a couple of the place cards I'll use this year - very informal affair. Last year I made some with a turkey on them - these are not quite as creative but think they'll do the trick. (If you want to see the ones I did last year, check it out HERE)
I used the Big Pumpkin image from Hero arts and the nestie scallop die and colored them with Prismapencils. I made a little "backing" on them so they'd stand up and then attached some hay.
You may want to zoom in on these - I was having a hard time getting a good picture since we had about a 30 mph wind and I was taking them outside! I'm really thinking maybe I could benefit from an Ott light!!! Maybe I'll have to throw a couple of hints around for Christmas!!! So, what's your opinion........is an Ott light worth it?
This is for the Creative Inspirations Paint challenge.
Thanks for stopping by............
Lynn

These are adorable! I love them and your coloring with the pencils is perfect. I actually have a portable light box, that included tripod and lights. I like it because I can use it outside or inside, it wasn't that much for the whole thing, $60 I think. I like Ott lights as well, especially when working on my cross-stitch.
These are adorable Lynn! I love the coloring of the pumpkins. As for the ott Light...I wouldn't waste the money. Did you see my tutorial on the "light Box"? Check it out. I had to make it because it is getting really cold here and I can't take pics outside any longer. But if you will be using the light for actual crafting, maybe it is a good buy!
Love the place cards, so cute. I tried to see last year's place cards but the link wouldn't take me there -- darn!
I love my Ott light. I used a Joann's 40% coupon, really makes a difference for these old eyes when coloring.
Oh my goodness Lynn, last year's are too much fun! I would be too distracted to eat my turkey! Thanks for letting me know you fixed the link.
Adorable!! Both this year's and last year's are great! Thanks for joining us at Creative Inspiration Paints!

Your coloring is FANTASTIC! I love these. I wish I had the OOMPH to make some placecards for my guests.
Beautiful place cards! You definitely need an OTT light!
I love your pumpkin place cards- great idea for a festive dinner-I may put something together for the kids to color to decorate out Thanksgiving table! TFS
thanks for a really great idea on the place cards-love the ones from last year as well-I will have 10 people for dinner
Wow - those pumpkins look SO realistic!! You colored them great with the prismas!!!
I have an Ott light and am just going to start to use it more for my night time picture taking. Wait until they are on sale at M's. Usually every few weeks they are 50% off :)

Hey this is a great idea Lynn! I'd love to have these on my Thanksgiving table this year! TFS!
I'm still trying to figure out where we are going for Thanksgiving. Got room at your table for 5 more? haha
Very creative.I love the idea. And the turkeys from last year are so cute too.Sorry Don't have a ott light.Let me know if you buy one and like it.
Very cute place cards Lynn.

Beautiful card and thanks for joining in the pumpkin challenge :)
These are so fun! Very festive and the perfect touch to your Thanksgiving table. Your coloring looks fantastic with the pencils, too. :)
These are so nice... you always have such a nice variety of projects.
These are wonderful. The coloring is terrific as well as the double scalloped matting. I also like the addition of the straw. I thought it was a photo prop until you said it was attached.
Granted, I don't take the best photos, but, out of necessity, I do photograph inside. And for as many windows as I have in my house, living in the woods I don't get direct sunlight from any of them. What I use is a clamp light (found at the hardware store) and a natural daylight flourescent flood bulb. All togehter the set up was less than $15. I think Ott lights are great, but even with a coupon they are expensive which I why I chose this alternative.
Wonderful place cards. Thanks for joining us at Creative Inspirations.
These are sooo cute! Superb coloring!! WOW
