Butterfly Anniversary

I have another CAS card for you today! The challenge over at Friday Mashup is to make a square card, a black and white card, or mix them up and make it square and black and white. I didn't mix it up and just made a black and white card - but I just have to tell ya....it took every ounce of energy I had to NOT add some red or yellow or some color! I don't think I've ever made just one in black and white but do like how this one turned out. It's a fun challenge and really made me have to control myself and not add another color!

It's also for the challenge at Mark's Finest Papers - an Anniversary card. It's their one year anniversary and I thought I'd help them celebrate today!

The sketch I used was the challenge LAST week at The Paper Players. I didn't get this card done until today though so I missed their challenge but I do love the sketch. So I made another one using the same sketch that I'll be posting later.

Thanks for stopping by...............

Lynn

Oh how very elegant! Dh and I celebrated 18 years yesterday for our anniversary :) Can't think of a better day to share the day with Easter! Love the details, and the butterfly, of course - I hope your Easter was lovely and beautiful! x0x0

Hi Lynn,

How do you make the poshest of cards with such ease? This card has swept me off my feet - it is just so striking and formal. Reminds me of a tuxedo!!! And yet so elegant with the swirly D'vine folder and that butterfly.

Lynne, I know how you feel about adding in the colour. But...that's what challenges are all about to test your creativity and to take you outside of that comfort zone. So glad you joined us at The Friday Mashup with your lovely creation. Cheers, Kasey ~ in Oz

So elegant, Lynn! It's perfect without color. Love the embossed background. That pearl on the butterfly is such a delightful finishing touch and the sheer ribbon is exactly right! Fabulous!

Beautiful AND elegant!!! I love black and white for wedding cards!! Actually, those were my wedding colors!!!! Yup - my girls wore black dresses much to the dislike of some 'Aunts' but who cares!!!

Now - the great thing is...your card is posted......you can go add any color you want now!!!
