No Hot Pants Here

Now, my title really doesn't have much to do with this card, except you'll never see Miss Eunice (Art Impression) here in anything but her little white skirt, polka dot blouse, and tennis!

Now, on to the reason of the Hot Pants title!   Before you go out and buy some of those things, please heed this warning:
I just read in the paper this week where Hot Pants (VERY short, short-shorts) are the latest rage.  Let me tell ya from experience.....You DO NOT want to wear those things!  Trust me on this!  Back in the 60's or 70's (Yikes) when they first appeared on the fashion scene, I got several pair of them and thought I was probably the cutest thing out there (probably was)  - and I even had the figure for them!  But, I'm a firm believer like the lady that wrote the article said - NO ONE under the age of 5 should wear them!   What happens is that you bend over in a pair of those babies, and everything just sorta rolls out - tummy, legs, butt....I mean everything.  And then you stand back up and you give yourself a dandy of a WEDGIE and have to tuck everything back in!!!

Anyway.....Miss Eunice doesn't have to worry about them!  I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday and used some SU paper.  A lot of red and white here but when it comes to mixing and matching DP, I just seem to break out in a sweat and my mind gets totally confused.  I paper pieced her blouse, did a little stitching around the edges of the card., and popped her up on dimensionals.

I'll enter this in the challenge at Sketch Saturday (Sketch).

Thanks for stopping by........and if you go shopping this weekend, watch out for those Hot Pants!
Have a great weekend and Keep Smiling...........

Lynn

OK, now that I have stopped giggling I can comment, I am telling ya you need to write a book, like Erma, you are hysterical. Oh do I remember hot pants and my DD hates the short shorts because they give you such a wedgie :) Loving the card with the red and white with the stitching, then of course Eunice standing there threatening if you put on a pair of those hot pants. Thanks for the laugh and have a great weekend.

Lynn, What a great card and exceptional paper piecing and fussy cutting. You should not get worried about mixing and matching DP you do a wonderful job of it. As for the hot pants, I, also, thought I looked great in them and had the shape for them, but I really hope they don't make a big come back now as I think that was a fad best left back in the 60's-70's. LOL Have a great day.

I'm all about comfort and coverage these days. :) I can't wait to see these Hot Pants so I know what you're talking about! LOL! They sound rather uncomfortable...who wants a wedgie?!!

LOVE your card, Lynn! Eunice cracks me up standing there with her hands on her hips! :) Love all those polka dots and red and white is always fantabulous in my book!

Fabulous Lynn, just love the red and white combo. The old gal is pretty cool too... we used to use the word 'cool', back when we wore hot pants. I was cool in my hot pants, mighty fine... however, you raise a very good point about wearing them now and all sorts of things not being where they should be.
Love this card though and the red stitching looks great.

Oh, thank goodness I'm far too old to even think about hot pants any more! Once owned a pair of them made from hot pink velveteen. OMG! Great card and I love the polka dot paper piecing on her shirt. Fab card. Love the red and white, and that ribbon is great.

Boy do I remember those hot pants! I saw a teenager last week with some and I hope she didn't have to sit or bend! And can you imagine Miss Eunice in a pair of those babies? LOL, no FOTFL! I love the red and white dots and I'm glad you didn't try to go with any other paper. And you did an amazing job of cutting out those skinny legs! Thanks for the fun.

Bwahahahahaha!!! You crack me up with your fun little stories :) Whenever I hear the name "Eunice" I think of those old Carol Burnett comedy skits and this image could even be her "mamma" !! LOL Your card is SO SO funny, with great paper piecing and stitching too. This will bring the recipient some serious chuckles again and again I'm sure!
I've never had the figure to wear hot pants, and Lord knows I'm too old for them now, but I enjoyed your thoughts on them anyway! Give me jeans and t-shirts for eternity and I'll be happy :)

LOL! I can just see you in your hot pants, Lynn!! My Mom was always a huge Oprah fan and I remember watching it with her one day when they were talking about fashion and I heard my most favorite quote "Just because they make it in your size, doesn't mean you should wear it, honey..."

Now on to sensible Miss Eunice... LOVE the polka dots all over this fantastic card! And that wonderful stitching...sigh...

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
