I have a couple of graduation cards to post today. I almost just hit the Dollar Store and bought some instead of making them (GASP!!!). I'm not overloaded in graduation type stamps and had no idea what to do - but, came up with these two (one for a girl and one for a guy) and they'll just have to do. I figure they're just going to be looking at the money on the inside and not much anything else anyway!!!
My first card is for a guy - pretty CAS and not a lot to brag about. The grad cap was made following a tutorial video (Stamperdog - You Tube) I saw on Pinterest. You just gotta love that site! I'm one of these that "pin" all the wonderful stuff I see - and then don't do anything with it! This time I did though and it made a cute little cap.
This second card is for a girl. Kelly, over at Sandcastle Stamper, was nice enough to send me several images she stamped out and then I just colored the Kraftin' Kimmie stamp up and placed in on the card. Thanks again Kelly! I didn't even realize it until after finishing the card, but this little gal is sorta leaning forward (hence the title of this post Going Forward). I figure she's just leaning to get ahead in her future! LOL! I've never cut anything straight in my life, so why start now!
Thanks for stopping by..........
Lynn

I love, love the graduation cap, very clever and such a pretty blue! The feminine card is very sweet and an adorable image! I like them both, even without money and so will your recipients!
Well normally I would agree with you that the recipients would only care about the money inside, but not with these two cards. They will have to notice how nice they are. I love that hat and will have to see about watching the video. I like that you placed it on what looks to be a sheet from a notebook. You are a clever girl. The image on your girl card is cute as a button. Nice coloring job also. Have a great day. Raining here and we are suppose to get severe thunderstorms with maybe hail later on today.
I'll have to find that link for the graduation cap. I'm late for some graduation cards and don't have any stamps for that occasion. Love that cap and the leaning forward girl is adorable!
Love them Both!! The CAP is awesome and I love the lovely Lady stamp too!!How Nice of Kelly. I love that Pinterest. I'm one to get started and never finish!! TFS
Oh, I love the blues! So pretty & bright, and the grad cap is perfect. I LOVE that she's leaning forward - you totally meant to do that. It looks great that way! :)
Shock horror Lynn buying a card!!! These 2 graduation cards are fabulous!

What a riot you are, Lynn! Let's be real about the money, so true!! It's too bad because you made a wonderful CAS "guy" card which has a lot of details so I disagree with you that there's not a lot to brag about. Your "girl" card is equally sensational!!
Two great grad cards! I'm especially fond of that first one with the graduation cap in such a pretty blue color. As for the 2nd one, I know what's going on there - that girls name is Eileen ( I lean) *snort*
Both graduation cards are fabulous I like the cap on the fist and the image on the second.

What a couple of great cards Lynn - well done!

Lynn, both of these are SO MUCH BETTER than the Dollar Store!!! I'll probably use the cap idea soon, so thank you! I also love how you colored up the Kraftin' Kimmie image-she's lovely!
Great job on both cards Lynn! They cap card is fabulous for a guy, but you know I'm partial to coloring. That's a great Kimmie image you used for your girl card.
Great graduation cards, Lynn!!
Hey Lynn, I LOVE the first card and the hand made cap. It looks super with the blue gingham and the brad.
The second card is lovely too with the image that Kelly sent you. I like the way she leans forward ;-) and your interpretation of it.
Your cards are always super and I wish you would consider thinking this way as well.
Love,
M
I could have used that tutorial yesterday as I was making a graduation card too and don't have any of those type of stamps. Both of these are precious and I'm sure the recipients will love the card as well as the green inside.
Great job with both cards! Thankfully I only had to make one graduation card this year!! LOL
Oh, I dearly love them both, Lynn! Wonderful combo of blue and white on each one. Great coloring on the grad girl. I have to go find that tutorial on the grad cap. I, too, startd up a Pinterest account but I'm worse than you. I never even go look at anything. lol
GREAT grad cards Lynn, I love the white one cas but beautiful :) The second one is very pretty for a girl. I think they will love them :)
2 awesome grad cards Lynn-I am making one of those today as well
Both of these are just Fabulous Lynn!! Love the fun Grad Cap! Might have to go check out that tutorial! ;-) And it's always fun to actually get to create something you've pinned from pinterest! Yay! 8-)

Oh love them both, my friend! I don't know how I missed these beauties, but so very talented you are! You are MOST welcome, though that's what friends are for :) Big hugs, happy resting up this weekend! x0x0
Both of these are way better than a (gasp) store card! So glad you didn't go to the dark side... :)
I love the mortar board hat on the guy card and your girl grad is so sweet! LOL at the leaning! Wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out!
Love the embossing on the first card and the great image on the second card - great colour combo too!

Both of your cards are fabulous, Lynn...the little cap is really cute and I love the girl graduate image!!! I cheated and bought my granddaughter a graduation card....shame on me!!!!
Sorry but I have to disagree with you on the guy card. It may be CAS, but it is really very pretty. Great job on the mortar board, and I'll check out that site. The blue check assymetrical mat, drew my eyes right into the card. But you're right: the recipient will look for the $$$ inside!!! Also liked your slanted Kimmie grad too. Now that was a brilliant way to look at a 'not straight'. I'll have to remember, cuz I do many of them thar thangs! Your papers, embossing, embellies & layouts made each card very special and very pretty too. TFS
These are both fantastic Lynn! I too am one that pins a ton of things and never looks at it again. Just another crafting compulsion I suppose...non the less I am addicted to Pinterest. I bet the recipients appreciated that you took the time to hand make their cards!. Love the kraftin' Kimmie image is leaning toward the future!! Wonderful grad cards!!!!
These are both so cute! I'm the same-I have very few graduation stamps. So i confess, I buy the cards for graduation.
