REALLY Different!
About the only thing you can say about this card is that's it's REALLY DIFFERENT!!! This is so not me at all!
In a recent card class they made one of these kaleidoscope flower thingy-s using a leaf stamp and I figured hey, I can do that!!! Yeah, right! First of all I didn't have a leaf stamp to do it with....okey dokey......so I made my own out of some left over rubber from a SU set that I'd never mounted. I was scooting along pretty good and then wanted to add the sentiment on vellum........I had little sentiments and big sentiments - but none the right size that would go across the flower thingy. I ended up stamping what I had on the vellum and putting it at an angle since it just wouldn't fit any where else. Ok.......we're down to the button now. First I put a brad in it and that just looked pinchy, so I decided to add a button. No way did I have a button to match that blue - or green....so, added a red one. This card really turned into a big ordeal.........so much for CASimple!!!
Anyway, here it is........and thanks for stopping by.............

Oh Lynn, this is FABULOUS... you made your own stamp and did such a neat job. The sentiment on vellum looks so trendy and the angle it is placed at makes it look cool. The button adds that dash of colour which compliments blue and all the colours in the petals. VERY NICE. Sorry that it was an ordeal...
Love,
M
Love the card and the angled sentiment! I always get a kick out of how you describe your card-making process.
This is just gorgeous...fabulous design.xxx
Wow Lynn this card really IS different for you - but it's soooo pretty. I really like the simplicity of it and the flower looks great. I just love the technical terms you use to describe it, too. "Thingy". Now THAT'S you! :)
This is different and I love it! Definitely worth the hassle! The kaleidoscope look is amazing!
Hee, hee! Who said CAS is simple? That red button with the blue twine is so perfect and I love the sentiment on an angle! I love this card!
LOL Lynn, CAS is definitely not simple or easy to do! Love your card and the button looks perfect.

CAS is HARD. There is just no room for fudging anything (and it turns out covering up mistakes is about 75% of my creative process, lol!~) For all the trouble it gave you, I think this looks awesome! The angled sentiment is so neat, and that bloom is really funky :)
CAS at its best, my friend! It may feel different to you but I think it definitely has "Lynn's" touch all over it. Love the story about all you had to do to get the flower thing-y. lol Wonderful telling. :-D
It was worth the effort Lynn, I like the flower thingy :o)the red button looks right with it and I like the vellum banner.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your card! Absolutely brilliant and perfect! I tried making the same card and it went in the trash! Positively terrific! Thanks for the technical description!
I'm sorry you had your problems with this card, but I love the end result. I wouldn't have even thought to make my own stamp, hooray for you on that one along. I really like how the flower came out and your sentiment looks fine on that sash. I also really like the kraft and blue combo. Enjoy your evening. Have you gotten any rain yet? I know you really need some. It has been raining here for the past 4 hours and when it started I began to think about you and your drought situation. Then again you are in my thoughts quite often. Have a great evening.
Oh, now you're just being silly saying mine didn't compare to yours, Lynn! This is fantastic! The trick is to not be so honest, LOL. We would have thought you just dashed this out, no troub!
But, seriously, you MADE your own stamp while I actually ordered one so I could have a petal to make this. Score big for YOU!! I mean, score GENIUS!
And, then, you made a whole card around your beautiful blossom. I took the easy way out and made mine a simple note card. Big score! Personally I adore the sentiment put at an angle like a sash, and on vellum! Very classy with those great side borders.
Finally, I love the button with the twine bow. It just WORKS perfectly!
I'd call it a mutual admiration society! It wasn't as darn easy as Jennifer made it look, but we are both tackled it and ended up with useable cards!
I'm impressed Lynn! I tried my best to find a stamp that would "work" but finally ordered the one used in the class. You've done a wonderful job with this technique...now that you and Darnell have both given it a try, I definitely have to try it!
What a fabulous CAS design, Lynn!! I think that CAS cards are more difficult because it seems to be easier to keep adding stuff than make a choice of just a few things. You did a fabulous job with this...especially with the flower...it's beautiful!!!
So Lynn you could have fooled us with this cas if you hadnt told the story lol!! It is VERY cool and well worth the time. I like that technique ;)

LOL Lynn, I think it's an awesome CAS card!! And Very creative with the semtiment across the card,I love it!! What a cool technique,I Never heard of it. TFS
Oh, this is beautiful Lynn! What a fabulous way to create a flower and I love the sentiment stamped on vellum!

This is amazing!! What a great idea for extra rubber. I love the flower-it is so cool looking. Must do this.
You made your own stamp! Wow you are brave! I really like this! It is very CAS!

My hat's off to you for sticking with it and finishing your CAS card! I love how creative you are to make your own stamp for the flower, and I like the diagonal vellum sentiment. I find CAS ten times harder to create than a layered card, so don't ever try to convince yourself that CAS is easy! LOL
Lynn, I sure don't see your disappointment in this card. I love it. You did a beautiful flower and I really thought the slanted vellum sentiment added a nice dash to the card. These flowers must be the 'in thing' at the moment. Darnell had one on her blog just recently. Both of you did a marvelous job with this effect. Yours is more subtle, hers was very bold. Interestingly, both of you used button centers. Great minds & all that! TFS & Hugs. Oh yes, I enjoyed reading about the trials in making this card too. Makes me feel not 'so alone' with all my adventures....
What a stunning card Lynn - love that flower and the way you made and positioned the sentiment. The button added a pop of colour that lifted the whole card to a higher dimension.
Blessings

You are just too funny! I would have been winging it against the wall, if I was that frustrated! As it turns out, you have created quite a stunning card. Very cool!
I love the flower!! What a fabulous technique!!
Seriously - so cool!!! Awesome!
Great creation. Very creative with your stamping.
So maybe it wasn't quite simple to put together, but it is fantastic! And I LOVE that you made your own stamp!!! I really like this card!
Great job stepping outta the box! I love this look!!! And the vellum for your sentiment on the angle is awesome!!!!!!
Great job :)
