CASE-ing a Card

After all the company we had recently I feel that my brain is completely fried!  It was sorta like the Griswold's Christmas Vacation around here - without it even being Christmas!  Of course it's always wonderful to see family, friends, and grand children  - but for 10 days running it starts to get just a wee bit old.

Some of Jim's family came in Thursday - along with a dog.....not good!  He and Rambo did not get along at all.  They went home on Monday (FINALLY) and the only thing left behind were fleas!!!  Goodness Gracious - I hate those little critters and poor Rambo had no idea what hit him.  Rambo's on a monthly flea and Heart Guard medication so he really couldn't figure out what those bugs were on his handsome little body.  The pills kill them pretty quick so I wasn't overly concerned  but then I got to thinking about the inside of the house (like rugs/carpets, etc) and yard.  So not only were we spraying the house and yard on Monday - but also cleaning, washing, and all that since my daughter and her two girls were getting here on Tuesday.  They finally left on Saturday.  I loved seeing all of them but it was also one of those times where they're driving off and you're standing on the front porch waving - and going HOORAY!!!!!!

Anyway, I had no time to even think about a card for the last 10 days and finally decided to CASE a card I saw on Pinterest and get it up this morning so y'all wouldn't think I'd completely flown the coop.  One of the grands loves to color and she has a birthday coming up next month...........so think she'll like this.

I'm slowly but surely getting around to everyone's blog - so don't give up on me yet!

Thanks for stopping by.............
Lynn

What a great idea, Lynn! I'll have to remember that for my granddaughter. Glad you survived all the visits. Imagine getting fleas as a hostess gift! Yuck!

What a fabulous card and idea. Your grandchild can color the image herself. Your crayons look so perfect set right there ready to go. I think I'll have to case this one also. It sounds like it was quite hectic around you little part of the world. I hope you can relax this week and just veg out or make cards whatever relaxes you. Enjoy your week, Lynn. you deserve a break.

This is absolutely brilliant Lynn and I'm sure she will love it! I'm going to CASE this for my granddaughter... love, love, love it!
Your story is such a hoot and sadly, it hits home to a lot of us. Love to see 'em come but man, it's so nice to get back to that peaceful, quiet life we ordinarily have. Luckily, none of mine bring fleas to share so that's a good thing!

Hello Lynn, welcome back to our world and let me tell you that you were missed.
You manage to make the most horrible situations into such funny ones, it beats me and makes me look at life in a lighter manner.
Glad that you have got your kingdom back and are back to crafting. The cute mermaid card with the crayons at the bottom is very LOVELY. I like her pleasant expressions and the gems look perfect with the bubbles.
Love,
M

What a great card and a great idea! You could even make it for an adult and add a couple Copic markers. Now to only remember this..... :-)
Glad you had fun with your company and know how you feel when they leave.

How exhausting! Fleas, family, food, fun,...enough is enough. Poor handsome Rambo! Love your story - adore the card! Perfect for a budding artist (or future card maker)

OH EM GEE. They brought fleas!!! Yuck. We battle them every year but there is no way I'd bring Abby to someone's house if she had them still. Yuck. YUCK. As it is she picked some up while we were visiting someone else - her stuff kills them quick too, but it was still pretty gross. Luckily we seem to have left them all behind.
I totally love the idea of a colour-your-own birthday card - and the grand will definitely love it!

Yuck on the fleas! Poor you folks. It's bad enough to have just normal cleaning behind the comp'ny - but then add in the spraying. Wow! You must be so tuckered. I'm impressed you could even make a card. This one is so cute & clever for a little grand. She gets a handmade card all her own, with some crayons, so that she can get crafty too! TFS & Rest up, Girl. Don't worry about visiting blogs! (But loved your comments anyhoo!)Hugs

Oh, Lynn, this is such a terrific idea! Wish I had thought of that when my grands were still of an age that 3 crayons would satisfy them. lol On the other hand, I have great-grands still of appropriate ages and may do some of these for either birthday or even Christmas. So glad to see you back posting again.

What a disaster! Sorry you had to go through that! Are you comfortable with the guests to tell them about the fleas? I feel terrible for their dog if they are not aware/concerned about their pup!

Love the card! What a great idea! Gonna show my mom so she can do this for her grand kids!

This is just the cutest card and I love that she will be able to color it herself!! Such a wonderful idea!

Glad to hear that you survived your house guests and hopefully got rid of the uninvited ones! The fleas were terrible here last year. I was told it was the mild winter and dry weather, but our poor dog was digging even with his flea pills. Such a nasty pest!
