NOT a 10 Minute Card

I love watching the videos of ladies making those "10 minute cards"!  Hummmmp!  If I even attempted something like that I'd be so busy watching the timer that I'd mess everything up for sure!!  I didn't have to worry about a timer on this one though because it was NOT a 10 minute card in any way, shape, or form!

I've never done one of the Art Impression Front and Back cards - so first of all, I had no idea what I was doing!  I don't usually have any idea what I'm doing half the time anyway, but this was really a kicker.  I'm not even going to embarrass myself and tell 'ya how many times I had to start over and re-do - and all that!  Rest assured I did NOT complete this baby in 10 minutes!!!!  (Maybe closer to like 10 HOURS!)  Anyway........

I'm probably the world's worst about making a card, snapping a photo of it, posting it - and then seeing all kinds of things I SHOULD have done!  I really started to begin all over on this due to some of those things and then my brain jump started and asked if I'd completely lost my mind or what!!!!!!!!  So, I left it as is.....however, I SHOULD have colored the fence lighter so the little dog would show up better/SHOULD have done something different on the grass......looks like it's past due on a mowing job/SHOULD have added some flowers or a tree or something.......and on and on and on.........BUT, the fact of the matter is that it's done and I learned a lot!

I'm giving this card to ME!  I'm going to need that "hang in there" sign from now until next Saturday.  We have company a'coming......the first wave hit yesterday......and the second wave hits today.  They'll all be staying until Monday.  Then on Tuesday, the third wave hits and they won't leave until Saturday!!!!!  Not to worry though as I've already ordered myself a keg of beer to be delivered Saturday evening!  LOL!  Hopefully I can survive all the cooking, cleaning, and entertaining I'm going to have to do!   I won't be around at all during this time but will be back maybe on Sunday or Monday next week.  I figure about the only thing I'll be able to do is to check my e-mail after I get everyone bedded down at night.

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

Love your front and back card. You aren't the only one that it takes hours to complete one of these. I think I've only done one and haven't attempted it again :-). Have a great time with all your company!

OMG Lynn, you really kicked butt on this one and knocked it right outta the park! This is a great card.. I've always thought I wanted to use one of the front/back stamps but never thought I could come up with anything decent. This is Fan-Tas-Tic! Also... look at those beautiful clouds!

Oh Lynn, you short change yourself, your card creating abilities are wonderful as is your card! Love the fun image and terrific background! With or without a tree, or mowed grass, it is fabulous, fun and great coloring!

Lynn, you did a GREAT job on this card! I have several of these front and back stamps. Sadly, I don't use them very often because they are so tedious. (and yes... they take hours, not minutes. Truly a gift of love when I send them on!)

Your card is fantastic and funny!! The dog shows up just fine. I think that little dog must have tinkled on her petunias to be carried away like that. I have a few of these stamps and never wrapped my head around them. Good for you for tackling them. Awesome work! Hang in there...that is a lot of waves of company...I think I would rather stick a fork in my eye~LOL
Have a great day!

I have made many of these, and I know this is not a 10 minute card....heck no! Granny came out awesome! Best of luck with all of the company heading at ya. Put them to work husking the corn! Enjoy, and see you when you return.

Oh you should not even go there with the "Should Haves". I think this card is fine just the way it is. I can see the dog just fine and so it happens to be a "mow the lawn day". You did a fabulous job on the sky(I can't do those) and that cute older lady. Notice I said oldER because I am old myself. LOL Stay calm and have a couple of beers for me too while you are doing all that entertaining. See you next week.

Well, I LIKED your card! So stop 2nd guessing yourself! It's great. I've never done one of those either, I'd be too intimidated. I had to laugh reading about all you 'should have done'. I see all my flaws once I post that card..things I never saw when I was looking at it, when I photo'd it...just when I got it posted! I think you deserve this card, and I have NEVER made a 10 minute card, don't expect I shall. Enjoy that beer. Tell your folks you provide clean beds, clean bathroom & they're on their own for food! That's what I do! I don't cook...but enjoy. We'll be here when you get back and when you're all rested up in order to GET back!!! :-) Hugs. & TFS

10 minutes or not...I thing it's remarkable!!! I have always wanted to try one of these front & back cards, and you've done a great job with it!! I love the grass needing mowing, I think it's realistic for an old lady's who's "hanging in there"!

Hoping that you hang in there too! Catch you when Lynn's Inn closes for the season!

I've never done one of these, Lynn, and it's fantastic! I thought the grass being too long was the reason she was carrying the dog. :-D Love that marvelous sky and your coloring is great! Now I'll have to find some of these front and back stamps. :-D

Oh Lynn, you had me laughing as I read this post... this card is AWESOME. The colours in the fence look VERY real and I like the way it opens.
I do hope and actually know that you will survive the company well. With the beer you will for sure.
Love,

Hehehe I hope you survive the week and the company...baby steps- a day at a time! Mmmmm that Keg sounds tasty : ) I would love to know how the lady shows up on the front and back though- what a cool concept! Oh- your coloring is awesome- love the clouds too!

Oh, Lynn - we are all so hard on ourselves. I think this is AWESOME and even more awesome is you're keeping it for inspiration!
We are about to be 'that' company ourselves...my advice is to move to a small cramped house (like we do) and then no one wants to come stay ;) lol!

Those cards are HARD. I have a couple of those stamps and ask me how many times I've made cards like this. Exactly. I think you've done a terrific job with it, Lynn, and I think you will be delighted to receive it from yourself!

Hang in there. Don't be a slave. ENJOY the moments and especially the beers!

So cute! A thinker card! Layers and layers and planning and planning...of course it exceeded 10 minutes! Which by the way I've never heard of...but I'm off to Goggle it!
Don't think I've ever had enough company to warrant a keg of beer! Sounds like fun!

Definitely not a 10 minute card but absolutely fabulous in all of it's time consuming glory!! I love the design and the sweet pup hiding behind the fence! Your sky is gorgeous and I think the shaggy grass goes perfectly with the 'hang in there' theme!
Best of luck with your visitors and take it easy on that keg!!

I'm glad you survived all your company and that you don't make 10 minute cards! I think it's been 10 minutes and look at the clock and it's been 2 hrs. Time flies.... Hope you had some good times with the company and that they helped with all the cooking and cleaning. Enjoy the beer!
