Floundering

Thanks to Tammy telling me about a sale on some rolling craft carts at a craft store, I hooked it to the city on Monday and picked up a couple....then started the job of cleaning and reorganizing the little crafting cave.  It was going to be a great week!!!!!!!!  YEA!  I worked my behind off part of Monday and all day Tuesday and was on a roll - and then........!  Of course it couldn't last!   Let's just say that those huge desk top guillotine paper cutters have SHARP-A_ _  blades!   I got my tetanus shot though and am all bandaged up so I'm almost ready to rock and roll again.  I was doing SO good there for a while........Anyway, I was able to get this card together so I'd at least have something to post for today and y'all wouldn't think I was completely worthless.......Right now though I'm just floundering.

This is one of those cards that really looks better in real like.  (Don't you just love it when someone says that.  I mean you aren't there so you really don't know if they're telling the truth or not! LOL!)  The DP is from some that's been breeding for a while back in the cave.  I made the tissue paper flower out of some paper from a Vera Bradley bag and added a brad from SU.  In the center of a bunch of the flowers on the DP I added some sparkle with a glitter pen (they're only showing up in the photo though about middle way down).  That's it folks!!!!

I personally think this card is not very practical.  The tissue paper flower looks so pretty but if you put this in the mail it just gets squished!  To top it off, the tissue tears really easy too.....so after you handle it for a minute or two you're going to snag a fingernail on that stuff and tear it and then wonder why someone would send you a card with a torn flower on it!  Just my opinion.................

I'll enter this in the challenge at A Blog Named Hero (Recycle, Reuse - the tissue paper from a Vera Bradley bag for the flower) and the Simon Says Stamps Challenge (anything goes).

Thanks for stopping by.........
Lynn

Oh dear Lynn, sorry to hear that... and inspite of it all you managed to create this fabulous card. I personally LOVE this layout. The flower is very pretty even though it is tissue. I adore the softness of tissue flowers. I like how you dressed up the pp. Very creative.
Now take care of your precious self.
Love,
M

Oh, Lynn, I'm glad to hear you're okay! I have a tendency to find myself cut up after doing everything - even when sharp things aren't involved! :-D

Well, you will have to personally deliver it, so the flower does not get smooshed! I think it is lovely- and you know how much I love love pink : )

Hopefully you didn't have to get stitches. Wonderful birthday card and the flower looks great - even if it's only for a little while (just like in real life) :-)

I love how your tissue flower looks - this will have to one of those cards that gets handed to someone, but the recipient will love it! Thanks for sharing it with us at the Simon Wednesday challenge this week!

Well your flower may not be practical, but it is a stunner Lynn! Love the drama of it, and the card is a CAS classic.

Sure hope there were no stitches involved. You gave me shivers! Break all the bones you want, but when cuts are involved, I feel a bolt of electricity zapping through me. Feel better, and I just love the way you built that card. Beautiful! (not sure how you did it with bandages)

Oh no! Gotta watch those cutters! Hope you're OK!!!!

Well, I think the card is stunning! I too have made these tissue paper flowers. I 'think' if you hand carry this card in an envie - it will survive transport :)

Good luck healing up!!!!!

A) omg, I am glad you're ok! How scary it must have been to cut yourself with that blade, though - I've nearly done it a few times & my heart always pounds like mad. I guess you can't mock Jim TOO much when his clumsy stuff happens next time!

B) not a one of us would EVER think you were worthless. And if someone says it to you I hope you get them with the blade.

C) that card looks awesome in the computer too!

D) seriously, I say that all the time - one of these days we're all going to be busted with our not-actually-nicer-in-real-life stuff. Uh-oh!!

Seriously, Lynn, would you stop with dissing your own cards!! It's a beautiful card! Not all cards can go through the mail or be overly-handled. They are for that special someone who lives nearby. After you've made the handoff, if they accidentally fondle the card to death, that's on them!

I'm so, so sorry to hear you cut yourself! Remember when Mom would say, "Settle down in there, someone's gonna get hurt?" Hmmm? You just got a little too becited about your pretty new cave.

Smooth and speedy healing wishes headed your way. Hope you decide to post pitchures ... of the cave, not your bloody owie. xxoo Darnell

Oooo, Lynn, I wish my forgotten paper stack would breed something that beautiful! Gorgeous paper and I love the tissue paper flower. I'm like you in thinking the flower just gets squished in an envelope but I try to use them on cards I'm not going to mail. Sorry to hear about your "guillotine" injury. Hope all is healing rapidly. :-D

Hope the finger is healing well, not giving you any fits. I think this card looks pretty good in the picture, and can imagine it's even better IRL. Love your dp, and great job on the tissue flower. If it mushes down, the recipient can fluff it up. Good use of the pretty tissue to make this little 2-toned flower. Stay cool. Hope you're resting from all your company too. Hugs & TFS

Some of the most beautiful things are very delicate! This flower is one of them! Love that paper and the colors in the flower are perfect! Sorry about your mishap! Between the tetanus shot and the wound, you did good to get a card made! Hope by now it's feeling much better. Bad papercutter!

OW!!! Hope you are feeling much better and that it wasn't too horrific!

As far as your gorgeous card... Practical schmactical! Who needs practicality with something as pretty as this?! Love that you used the tissue from a Vera Bradley bag too!!
