Christmas Beginnings

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas........well, at least in my craft room it is! I haven't started decorating or anything crazy like that yet but do need to get a few cards done so they'll be ready to mail in December.  I've made several during the year and now it's time to kick it up and notch and "git 'r done".

First of all......see that embossing folder!!!  Sweet, sweet Mary over at Carolina Cards By Mary H. sent me several of these after I commented on her lovely blog.  I've searched far and wide and can't find the folder (discontinued) but do love the look of the dots since it reminds me of snow.  Check out Mary's blog when you get a chance - and thank you again so very much!

The stamp I used is a recent purchase and made by Stampabilities.  Perfect for the upcoming holidays.  I stamped it with Copics and then framed it out in gold.  Very CAS look even though it has the layers.  Now, the best part.......I also recently purchased a Wink of Stella pen.  OMGoodness!!!!  That thing is just sensational!!  I got it in the clear - but am really thinking I need one in gold and what ever other colors they have!!!  I used it on the berries on the wreath and also the red part of the bow.  It really shines - but sadly you can't see it in the photo.  Maybe I just need to send a card like this to all of y'all so you can see the shine!!!

I'll enter this in the challenge at Simon Says Stamps (anything goes), Addicted to Stamps and More (Clean and Simple), and Inky Impressions (Traditional Christmas).

Thanks for stopping by........
Lynn

Now you've put that song in my hear. It's beginning to you a lot like Christmas". I now think it is time for me to panic as I only have a few cards done for the Holidays. The simple elegance of this card is something to behold. I love the different types of greens in this wreath and your coloring of it is spectacular. Great embossing, it does look like snow. Darn, it's discontinued. The gold edging really frames this image nicely. Your twine matches so good with the gold in the ribbon on the wreath. Enjoy your day. Off to see Carolina Cards now. Thanks for the link.

Fabulous Lynn - I do so love the wreath. And of course the EF is a beauty. I just checked mine and it was made by Cuttlebug - got it ages ago. I've done a really thorough search of all the online craft shops here in the UK for you as well as eBay etc. and it's nowhere to be found as you say. Such a shame as it's gorgeous and would sell like hot cakes if they brought it back I'm sure.

Hugs, Di xx.

Lynn, when I looked at the embossing, in my heart I went, "Oh, so even Lynn has this beautiful embossing folder". Well glad that your friend sent you embossed paper.
Your wreath looks royal all encased in that classy gold and white double frame. Today when I was turning out a card, I thought of you because I like the way you frame your images. Looks so posh, you know.

Love,
M

Ooh, goody, I get to make the first comment. Great looking background (LOL!) and I am loving that wreath. Wonderful coloring, and your gold lining on the frames really set the entire card into orbit. This really rocks! Just learned about the Wink of Stella yes'dy. Did you get the .08 nib or the brush? Just discovered this little fact, and I think there are 16-17 colors on the fine nib. Where did you find yours? This really is a terrific card my Friend. TFS & Hugs

This is a stunning classic Christmas card, Lynn! I love that snowy EF, too, and wish they would make it again. Mary is a sweetheart! I did, however, get those WoS pens in every color and love them so much. It's neat that a person is surprised by the "wink" when the light hits the card just right. Too bad it is pretty much impossible to capture in a photo, but WE know!! Anyway, I love your card! Hugs, Darnell

Gorgeous card. I love a great wreath at Christmas! I have that embossing folder...and who did i learn about it from...Mary of course. I found in in a trio pack at my scrapbook store...just lucky I guess as I checked everywhere on line and they were discontinued.

Just bought a clear Wink of Stella...the clear sells out here so quickly! I was lucky there!
