Drunk Turkeys

Well, it's Friday so I thought we'd have a little discussion about a topic that's come to my attention.  I read in the paper last week that turkey farmers/ranchers/people that raise turkeys, have started giving them beer to fatten them up!  For real!!!  Those birds love the stuff!  Personally, I can understand that because nothing tastes better on a hot day than a good "cold one".  But the thought of turkeys drinking beer is a little overwhelming!  Supposedly they prefer lager over beer.  They say it gives the meat a better flavor and also the gravy is a bit darker.  Can you just image a bunch of drunk turkeys running around - all glassy eyed, staggering, etc!    Of course if I was a turkey I'd probably want to drink as much as possible and good and drunk.  Especially before Thanksgiving when I knew I was going to end up on someones dining room table!  I don't blame the little guys for loving that tasty stuff either!!!

SO..........after your turkey meal for Thanksgiving next week if everyone seems a little tipsy, you'll know why!

My computer........ah......I know some of you have been getting ads pop up for some reason.  Have no idea why.  The computer went into the shop on Monday and they cleaned it all up, etc. and can't find a single thing that would be causing the ads......SO - no clue!  You may want to "Google" on how to keep ads from popping up on your computer.  There's really not much else I can say or do but I am sorry this is happening.

Thanks for stopping by..................
Lynn

Your card is so cute and just in time for Thanksgiving. I like the fresh colors and twine.
I'm not surprised at turkeys being fed beer in this day & age. I think I'll start making lasagna for Thanksgiving now!

Love your turkey card and great coloring of the big guy too. Did you use pencils? Hilarious that they like beer. I think I'd want to tie one on too before my head went to the chopping block.

I'm not surprised at that wee nugget of information - my DH, in his youth and when out with a group of other young men poured some excess beer into the pigs trough - the result was rather spectacular - and very noisy apparently!!
Blessings
Maxine
p.s. -= your card is great - and the turkey does look a wee bit inebriated :-)

Love the colors and the polka dot paper on this! Such a cute turkey image, and your coloring is wonderful!

Have to grin about a bunch of inebriated turkeys, wonder if it makes them less aggressive?

Hugs!

Too funny, Lynn, and your darling little turkey on this card looks like he's been dipping into the lager! Wonderful colors and the polka dots work marvelously. I hope he doesn't think those are spots in front of his eyes from too much drinking. :-D
